I hope it has more to give, its raining now so hopefully there might be some water in the creek and I'll give it another crack. I'm modifying the highbanker and knocking up a yabby pump so hoping to suck up some good gear. I should just have a pan in the car just in case, but if you have an esky tub your good to go. No worries Mario, I find the monster will go both ways with gold targets in the ground and more so in mineralised ground, that area is not suited to the monster due to the hot ground, but it was picking up that nugget. I wish I had run the 4500 over the tub, it would have screamed out on that size. Cheers, Pete
Take a couple of buckets and take all the material from that spot back home to work. Too many pieces in a small area to pass up the opportunity for fines and pickers. Take a crowbar to the bedrock, break it up and see what is in the crevices there mate. Nice finds, glad you had a good day out. Keep it up, thanks Pete.
Thanks Joel, I went out there today and got some dirt to run, scratched out some crevices and sucked up some material with a PVC pump I knocked up. Tried to run it but there was to much clay so it's gone into the cement mixer, just have to put it through the sluice now. Cheers, Pete

Hopefully there's somthing in the gravel, I also ran the last tub off monster pay dirt through the cement mixer while I had it going, so a bit of extra gravel to run to finish off that video. We could arrange a day out bush once these restrictions ease, I take it your down Castlemaine way? And run a 7000. What area of bush were you driving through today?
Thanks Ant, The esky done the job, the monster struggled with the hot rocks, it did say there was something but didn't quite cope, so bring on the esky pan. Turned out to be a good spot. That's what they say on that TV show, but the highbank nugget came out of the same spot so 4 confirms it, its a creek patch. I've never come across anything like it, you would'nt think they would be there these days.

Hey Adam, That's great your getting into prospecting. First thing get the best gold detector your budget allows, you can use relic machines like the Nox 800 - 900 or Manticore, but dedicated gold machines are better. The best low range detector would be the Gold Monster 1000, great machine on low mineralised ground like pipeclay or quartz mullock heaps, not good on ironstone, next would be a GPX4500 or SDC 2300, but if you have a really good budget get a GPX 6000, if you watch my later video's you'll see how one of those go. To get experience you could join a club, you'll plenty of advice there and they'll put you on gold bearing ground. Watch youtube, you'll see the ground we work and that will give you a good idea where to look, but be patient, finding gold isn't easy, but you'll get there in the end. Hope this helps. Cheers, Peet

I have heard and read reviews that prospectors have done ok with those Aldi detectors, it's all about buying the best detector to suit your budget, if you could afford a Gold Monster 1000 I would definitely go that way as they are great little detectors, watch my monster videos and you'll see they go really good in quiet ground, hope this helps. I have never used one, but I did try and get one and they sell out quick, I have heard they can find gold, but it might have to be a good half gram or so and shallow, I would imagine it would be difficult to find gold being that it's not easy even using one of the GPX machines. I'd look for a used monster over the Aldi machine.
