Caleb IV, Axanar, Narendra III, Galorndon Core, Sybaron, Tibor Nebula...many unnamed battles I can't recall.
Caleb 4 marks Kors rise to fame. Might be worth a look.
Archer IV would be fun
I loved having Kor, Klang, and Kolath together again at DS9. It was coming full circle.
What I love is that because of Trials and Tribbleations it is canon even within non-prequel TNG era trek that the Kor, Kang and Koloth went from just barely avoiding a charge of blackface to the Klingon makeup we know and love and Enterprise suggests the change is plastic surgery. So we now have a catch all explanation for any time Klingons look different, plastic surgery because even the most honoured Klingons got it.
@farshnuke That was when a Klingon scientist tried adding augmented DNA to some Klingon warriors in conjunction with a Klingon Admiral and they lost their head ridges.
@@mickeyholding7970 Yes I referenced that.
"The Klingons call it Klach D'kel Brakt, I call it the Briar Patch"
-Dr. Soong
I love the line - Fleet in Transition - as opposed to the term: Fleet in Being.
2:12 ; I think you meant 2271 there not 2371.
For the video as a whole, this is an enjoyable expansion on the details of Klach D'kel Brakt.
More of these "Skirmish-space" videos are nice additions.
It will be most curious to see what other smaller skirmishes and combat events may be elaborated upon.
good name: Skirmish Space
13:18 Klingon L-24 Komo Val (Ever Victorious) Class XIII Battleship - the counter to the Z-1 Nova and Excelsior-Class
Comparable displacement, engines and shields to those listed for the Nova (though I personally double those values on the Nova to account for how OP the Excelsior's non-functioning Transwarp output is - I call that the Quantum Singularity). 8 Heavy Disruptors mounted much like a typical D-7 (k't'agga, k't'alla or k't'inga) 4f/p, 4f/s; 4 Medium Disruptors 2a/p, 2a/s; 4 Photorps 2f/2a - equal to those used on the Enterprise and 133% of those on the D-7M.
So not quite equal to the Nova or excelsior. Interesting
@@venomgeekmedia9886 The official Nova its a even match. I changed the Nova and Winged Defender to make them actually equal to the ships they are supposed to equal.
A secret about FASA. Like many similar IP games of the time, they have a flaw. The three best ships in the game are:
1) Excelsior
2) Enterprise
3) Constitution
The Nova and Komo Val are *Barely* superior to the Enterprise. If you use the stats for Kirk, etc. rather than baseline skill rolls, they will win.
Those ships have the best shields - no other faction even HAS shields with that efficiency.
Their Phasers do more damage than the best Disruptors. The KP-6 torpedo does the same damage as a FP-4, but it takes 2 power to arm, not 1. And on down the line.
I also came up with a justification on the Komo Val. Like the other two it would have been 12 years old at Praxis. Still only a few built. And those were largely mothballed.
(Though in my head canon, the Chancellor rendezvoused with Enterprise aboard one of them, instead of a D-7 hull).
Yes! This was cool! Venom breaks down battles!! I love it. Do more!!!!
I don't know if you want to go into "what if" scenarios, but based on your Tomed Incident videos, it would be interesting to see what would happen if there was no tentative pace deal and no order sent to end the attack and withdraw by either side before Sulu's fleet showed up at Tomed, and then the Federation and Romulan fleets had to engage in battle there.
That's a lot bigger. I'd like to think I built up a picture of what would happen in the various lore episodes.
And let's not forget that the Romulans were outnumbered roughly 2 to 1 with comparable ship types
ALSO- if you're able to find info about Kor's attack on Romulus (itself)- cuz yeah, that little nugget he dropped in DS9 still makes me go "wait, dude, go back, can we hear more about that one?"
Yep although your almost always going to be outnumbered by klingons. And an attack on romulus? Do you remember which episode he mentioned that.
I love the os sounds in the background
TOS bop
Wow I love your Dominion war series it was the best series of all
I really enjoyed your break down of this battle that kor won in and it gives a glimpse into Klingon Romulan post alliance battles.awesome job
Love your presentations! Thank you for your passion for legacy Star Trek!
Another great video with this new skirmish battle breakdowns. Sounds like the kilingons under kor here struck gold here in respect of fighting the romulans when technology and firepower advantages generally sided with the Klingons as the romulans work out their new strategic and tactics and create the ships to best utilise them.
I love seeing breakdowns of these smaller skirmishes leading up to the full conflicts keep it coming
Excellent battle breakdown. Maybe a breakdown of the Battle of the Omarion Nebula next.
🖖😎👍Very cool and very nicely well done and executed in every detail way shape and form and format provided on this format and subject matter and very well informatively explained, On the Battle of Klach D'kel Brakt with the Klingon fleet under the command of Kor against the Romulan fleet and the victory by the Klingons with very few losses compared to the Romulans with higher losses; A job very nicely well done indeed Sir!👌.
It's a battle though, that on a strategic level only succeeded in securing the eternal HATRED of the Romulans and would culminate in the Khitomer Massacre
@@weldonwin all this battle did was make clear the two had different strategic interests. It was more the klingons taking a neutral stance during tomed.
Yes, victory for the Klingons. I like the idea of looking at other battles like this. Also like that you added more ships for the Klingons since all we see are just two ships for them.
i love this please make more videos like this.
Very much enjoyed it, well done.
I enjoyed it very much !
I would enjoy a video about the Romulan Battlecruiser from the Star Trek comic arc "Tests of Courage", aka "The Tabukan Syndrome" from 1992. That was an exceptionally good looking design, that should get some Beta Cannon love.
More of this please
I love this style of Video for smaller battles, there might have been a degree of hand to hand combat when the Klingons took the base after defeating this defensive fleet. And the D20 seems like a Klingons version of either colonial cruiser that the Royal Navy used before and during World War II or the type of equipment American police forces and some civilians own compared to the US military.
The Romulan cruiser that was based on the D7 seems more akin to the Firehawk battle cruiser than the Nova.
I would love to play Star Fleet Battles with you - that would be so much fun.
Totally enjoyed this. Keep going! Also, don't neglect your "wings" series! There are other universe's.
Oh, that is how you spell it.
yeah took some googling
Actually have a ship named after this battle on a Klingon-toon in STO. Funny enough it's a Fed ship from when they removed the faction limitations.
Great video and breakdown!
Like it, can't wait for more of those! great work
Wasn't there a Hand to Hand combat part of the battle too? After all when Odo told Quark to turn off the halosuit that was right in the middle of the battle, you could clearly hear Kor fighting hand to hand.
Good information!
The betreka nebula incident would be a good video, the battle of axanar, Narendra 3, maybe one on the Klingon/Romulan border skirmishes that get talked about a lot on TNG
I freaking loved this! Thank you!
Just keep'n it simple. lol....
Yes more of thses please!
Excellent
Sweet video
Fun writeup of a border skirmish. Given the weight of numbers against them, the Romulans probably should have disengaged before the fight. Given that they were (roughly) outnumbered 2:1 they didn't do that badly in the exchange (if losing three ships of an attack wing to one enemy frigate-class can be called that)
I'm diggin, this
Hmm. DS9 heavily implied that there was a significant hand-to-hand combat aspect to this battle.
I liked it!
Cheers
Blood Oath did make it seem that there was at least some ground combat at the battle
Nice
More please
Kor becomes baltar in a another life 🧬
Will you talk about Kor's last stand against the Jem'Hadar in the Dominion War? I think his last stand would've inspired a new generation of warriors.
I see Kor went to the Lord Nelson school of naval engagements: close in and give them the cold steel
Groovy
I would love to see a video on the battle of nerendra 3
Yes, I enjoyed this along with the rest of your content but what about Kor? You did not even mention him???? Still his best work was done off screen in DS9: "Once More Unto the Breach". Worthy of a video on for the great Dahar master.
I thought this battle was mostly hand-to-hand close quarter combat !
"What did we learn from this?
Don't screw with Uncle Kahless's ships."
The Fat Electrician. Probably.....
I've been going over the dominion war videos you have done and you really didn't cover Operation return itself, you covered Everything around that particular battle, but not the battle itself.
Also with your discussion with Drakkinafell about the wandering galaxies during that battle. I have a theory on why they were doing that. They Probably were turned back by an enemy ship and couldn't easily turn back around.
Yeah it's quite big. I looked at the overall battle I'm not sure how much detail I could reasonably go into.
@@venomgeekmedia9886 I have fath that you can come up with something.
I thought in the battle the romulans lost more than that, considering the Klingons always talked about how this victory was glorious and furious
gotta remember it's klingons were talking about they over exaggerate everything
Kor was known to embellish his stories
@@thestanleys3657 oh yes did he ever
I do I was wondering if you ever will cover some of the like free NXT Earth roaming and warships and battles of the earth romulan war
I would argue that the Romulans fight in a more rigid formation while the Klingons have a more fluid fighting style. Their wings have more feedom of action, but still coordinated. I hate to use this analogy, but think Romans vs the Huns.
Why didn't the old plasma torpedo Romulan ships use a cloaking device to get enclosed and then open up with a plasma torpedo at Point Blank Range
They're in the middle of a gas cloud so cloaked ships would still be visible.
Would it be safe to assume that from the 22nd to middle of the 23rd Century the Klingon Empire was THE superpower in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants, with only the Vulcans (and later Starfleet and the Federation) being close to being a peer to them and the Romulans were making catch up on all powers @Venon Geek Media 98?
Wouldn't say superpower. But certainly the pre-eminent military threat. The one everyone is worried about.
@@venomgeekmedia9886 I don't know. I think they did have the most territory of that time period, had the greatest industrial capacity and they actually innovated instead of stealing or copying Federation designs. I mean they were the ones to create the Photon Torpedo in the first place correct?
U mean 2271
if i said 23 then yes 2271 sorry
Then again starfleet was willing to risk the enterprise b on a shakedown cruise without a medical staff on board.
What happened to the base?
You removed the V-6 RPL-2? Same one mounted on the V-7. Which btw is triple the mass of the K-22 (aka S-11) - the D-32 would be the analogue.
im afraid i don't know FASA that well you'll have to translate
@@venomgeekmedia9886 The Gallant Wing (V-6 HC) uses the same torp as the Whitewind ( V-7 LC).
His last battle.
What is the source of this battle? book? computer game?
I take issue with your K'tinga size. D7 is 230m but the K'Tinga is 350 according to the DS9 Technical manual. I always just assumed they up scaled the D7 when they refit it, like how the Super Hornet is quite a bit larger than the standard F/A 18 Hornet.
The DS9 tech manual is famously unreliable. Especially with ship sizes.
Some sources actually scale the Ktinga smaller than the D7 at 215m. But I've always said they are the same size given the ktinga is a refit.
The Super Hornet is basically a completely different plane though, and keeping the F/A -18 designation was more of a trick to sell the concept as a riskfree development to Congress (the Super Tomcat variants and an navalized F22 where just shot down due to costs, risks and/or not enough performance improvement).
@@Tuning3434 Thats what I meant when bringing the F18 up, the K'tinga IS a new ship (in my opinion) that just looks exactly the same as the D7 just bigger
What about his attack on Romulus?
Do you remember which episode he mentioned that?
Worf did in Sword of Kahless, lol, a throw away line but it must have been epic to hit the homeworld!
@@venomgeekmedia9886
Where and what was Kor's flagship?
Would have been one of the Ktingas no real way of knowing since they're all mark 1s
@@venomgeekmedia9886 don’t you make this stuff up? Haha! What sources did you draw from for this episode?
Interesting that the Klingons were so superior to the Romulans at the time while the table had turned at the end of the 23th century. Maybe the Klingons were more focused on overtaking the Federation and that kept them on their toes while the Romulans, due to their time of isolation after the Earth conflict didn´t really know where they were at, at that moment in time and made some bad design and doctrine choices.
Oh yeah. The romulan fleet of the 50s and 60s was still operating on ideas from over a century before. Just with a few additional bells and whistles. The romulan fleet doesn't really modernise until the 2290s
Why didn't the romulans use their cloaking devices why wouldn't their ships cloaked
This battle was fought in a "large stellar nursery", a nebula collapsing into new protostars, much like the Orion Nebula. If it's a huge cloud of gas, then cloaking devices would be useless for any ship that was moving because any movement would disturb the gas and reveal the location of the ship. The background graphics also imply that it's fought in a nebula, rather than the usual vacuum in most space.
10 minutes in there's like seven or eight commercials, that's just ridiculous I won't be watching the rest of it
