Yeah, for my point of view is weird that.
During the geography test Christina did great and guessed right and now she did great too , pretty cool , this one was way harder
Maybe because she's from New England.
American isn’t really an ethnicity tho. The only people who are ethnically “American” are the indigenous peoples of the americas.
So u just contradicted yourself. American is an ethnicity. Stop excluding Native Americans
True but same could be said about everyone in the Americas.
@@greenmachine5600 but then the indigenous people of the Americas would identify ethnically with their nation or tribe instead of their nationality
Most people in the world associate American with being White American, usually those people have Anglo or Germanic heritage.
@@ArcasBelissari i think it's 50/50.. but it's more like leaning toward to people with british backgrounds.. because people who have other non-british ethnicity tend to respond with a more recent ethnicities.. english americans have been in the us for a long time and they just mixed each other with new comers.. so there's no "real" like english americans or german americans or whatever.. they just mixed.. and maybe "american" is more like people who tried to simplified or respond with their nationality not their ethnicity.. cause their ancestors have lived in the us for a long time and they just like disconnect with their ethnic origin.. but i'm sure about 75% of americans at least have 1 english ancestors.. but they just mixed with other ethnicities.. so there's no such a "real" english americans

Guessing half of Europe when she is actually Czech is classic, we are literally mix of everything and we look totaly randomly mixed. Every army marching thru our country let babies here and we look totaly random now. 😀 What I noticed is that Romanian girls look very similar to ours, but Romanian men look different.
Lol
According to historians and DNA results the impact of wars on our ethnicity was essentially negligible. The offspring of rapes were often renegades and did not reproduce any further. Of course there are some descendants, but to such a small extent that it is not visible in the composition of our population. Our ethnicity is basically no different from the other nations of Central Europe, we have the greatest similarities with Hungarians (a little surprising for some, but it actually makes sense), then with Slovaks, Austrians and eastern Germans. In short, a mix of the dominant haplogroups of Central Europe - Slavic, Germanic, and quite a bit of Balkan and even a little Scandinavian and Baltic. Of course, there are also other types of haplogroups, but they are present in the neighboring countries to the same extent, so to say we are a mix of everything is pretty ignorant and short sighted given our history and ancestry.
True, we Romanians are more south european looking, more similar to our south slavic neighbours and to Greeks while Czechs are more north european looking similar to Germans. A normal thing considering the geographical position of our countries.
@@ctiradperunovic im from Moldova ,and when i come to Romania i spoted the difference in looks and accent, romanians ussualy but ofcourse not all ,but a significant part look more south like , brown , in Moldova because we were 200 years under Russian empire we got mixed with slavs (many ukranians and russians till this day) ,in Romania especially in the south they got mixes with turks or bulgars ,also many gypsies . It takes one hour in Chisinau looking at the people and you see the difference , like 90% if not more look slavic/german like , many blondes and red heads ,in Romania for some years i live here i see rarely blonde people ,and even the blondes are mixed with clear southern facial features. Also romanians are shorter than moldavians ;) .
3:48 That reaction was priceless, especially coming from a beautiful girl herself.
Imagine a man reacting like that, he would be almost arrested for that in these days. 🤣🤣

The Irish Ukraine guy really threw me off, never would've guessed that, he looks middle eastern, Balkan or Romanian to me, must be his Jewish side that made him look like he was from further south.
Could be the Irish, some Irish are pretty dark with paler skin
I guessed Russian and German so location wise really close
As a Romanian myself, I would have never associated him with Romania or any Balkan country. The colour of the hair was definitely too black. We lack extreme hair colours, like white blonde or jet black. The range is more from gold blonde to dark brown.
Ukrainian Kozaks are quite dark haired and they can grow mean mustache ;)
@@greenmachine5600he clearly said it’s because his Ukrainian side is Jewish

seungmin is pakistani korean idk why they represented him as half indian
Ikr
Yeah exactly!! I was confused why are they mentioning him as indian-korean.
Because Indian can be used as an ethnicity as well.
@@equityjustice2695 nope it can't be. You need to learn
I think he is the one who is lying to them😂
He even appeared in one more video claiming that he is Indian. He is the wrong one here
"Prague is the best country" 😭
Goulash is called in my country gulaš (at home) or golaš/golaž (somewhere in a city)
I struggled to understand this challenge because my knowledge of flags isn’t great. The first girl has a bit of a girl crush on Christina! Maybe a friendship may become of that!
The first girl was Romanian + Czech
American isn’t an ethnicity tho. It’s a nationality unless we’re talking about Native Americans
Exactly! I don't blame Christina for not getting it right. If I were her, a US American would never even enter my mind. Also, for Native Americans, it wouldn't make sense for them to identify by the US nationality and flag when talking about their Native ethnicity (tribe). It would make more sense to say Lakota, Apache, Cree etc.
@@Onnarashi hmm good point!! Either way being American is just a nationality not ethnicity
You just contradicted yourself then. There are many Native Americans. So you can definitely consider American as an ethnicity and then which native group as a sub ethnicity
My understanding is that in some European/East Asian countries, (White) Americans are sorta seen as their own ethnic group. Distinct from the various European countries their ancestors were from.
We where developing into our own ethnicity but we ruined it when we flooded our gene pool with more Europeans
Wow I think Christina is really smart. She can tell apart Korean from Chinese from Japanese. 🤓
She won't figure out my ethnicity. My ancestors were multiracial due to colonization
I never heard any Japanese and Chinese name Kim
It's easier to tell apart Japanese from Korean and Chinese, because their names tend to have more syllables, but 'Kim' and 'Lee' can also be Chinese family names. However, 'Kim' is pronounced 'Jin' in Mandarin, and it's definitely way more common in Korea than in China, so she's smart to know that.
BRING BACK MEADOW NOW!!! The Russian American girl.
I'm puzzled by how "American" is an ethnicity. It doesn't even fit for Native Americans, since they go by their tribe.
In America, Diversity/Inclusion/Equality are incorporated as policies to legitimize hiring of anybody because they do ancestry test ahead of time and claim hiring that mixture of ancestry.
was that girl hitting on Christina? lol
which one?
@@ahmedimrani for sure
Yep
Really, she clearly tried to hit on her 😂
the last guy does not look like an Irishman or a Ukrainian looks like a guy from southern Europe
there are Tatars in Ukraine. Maybe that why he have this kind of look ;) interesting indeed
He's ashkenazi Jewish, which means he's middle eastern if you go back far enough
Ukraine is located almost in the south of Europe, there are many people with dark hair and brown eyes, especially closer to the west
Ahh Christina is a breath of fresh air. This one was a really tough one! She did much better than I did. And i know is not easy but you should go to Europe too!
How did she not guess American? She had one of the best US accents I've ever heard for a Russian
She also seems to not know russian flag. When the girl sticks the flag, she says "oh, ok....", alike "I have no clue what flag is it, but' let's keep on..."
And at the end appears again very amazed when she is told "so I'm russian american"
I loved the your beautiful squealing 😂😂
Damn Korean+Indian can cook it🔥🔥
pakistani hai woh
Porki hai woh don't call him indian
The first young lady was perfect for throwing someone off. I'd have guessed she was from Massachusetts, cause she looks like she could be Christina's sister, and has a perfect US accent. That threw her off for the Russian/US lady coming after her. I'd be surprised if anyone was able to guess the last guy.
Always love seeing Christina in these, she has so much poise and is so diplomatic aside from being very pretty. She'll be successful at whatever she does.
Based on looks I immediately thought the first lady was European. I can see why people might think her accent was American but I can hear European in certain words. For example when she said specific.
@@anndeecosita3586me too, i could hear the slight eastern european accent. also her facial features definitely look east european! i correctly guessed she was partially russian
@@keeptaiwanfree She is not partially Russian though... the first girl is half Romanian half Czech
My hometown has a pretty decent Bosnian population after taking in a thousand or so refugees in the 90s, so I had a lot of Bosnian friends and classmates growing up. My best friend since we were 12 is Bosnian American and I adore him. Anyways, I can kind of tell who's Bosnian by looking, especially with the older generation. But if you have their name then it's much easier. Most women have a name ending in A and the last name usually ends in -ic or -ich.
I’m an Egyptian :) Also that Jewish guy is so handsome :)
Apparently, being a US citizen qualifies as an ethnicity now. No wonder Christina didn't get it right.
Yes, it's a bit confused, I suppose it's whatever each person wants to identify as. I'm from the US, but my ethnicity is Bavarian/Swiss. Can I have three flags? I'm gonna need a bigger white board hanging around my neck.
Exactly. You can’t be half U.S American. You can’t be half Brazilian, half anything from the Americas, really, unless you are native. They should’ve stuck to the old world because that’s more genetically tied.
Lots of people don’t get the difference between nationality and ethnicity.
@@hannahwalmer1124 I'm going to give the Russian-American girl some benefit of doubt though, and say that maybe she was thinking this was about culture or where you grew up, rather than ethnicity, so a mixture of nationality/upbringing. Sometimes I think these channels aren't clear about what the video is about (maybe miscommunication).
It's a South Korean channel, and eventhough many of the non-Korean people that ferature in these videos speak Korean, some words maybe be hard to translate, like perhaps nationality vs ethnicity.
I'd consider native American as being ethnically American so yes you can be actually
@@greenmachine5600 I said *unless you're native*. Read first before trying to get a "gotcha" on someone.

Girl guessing Indian as if it's an ethnicity 😂😂 it's a nationality yo. His ethnicity might be half Punjabi and Korean or something 😂
Punjabi definitely not more of a marathi ethnicity

It stems from Hungary, but it's became common in central European cuisines and beyond. In Poland we have it too, we call it "Gulasz" (pronounced: Gulash)
Me too.

Hey guys, could you please ad the name of the countries to flags, because some people, me, are really bad with flags. So, I watched the whole video and still don't know the ethnicity of some 🫤

Nationality and ethnicity are two different things. A polish is polish by nationality but white by ethnicity or race.
A native polish would be white by race polish by ethnicity and a polish national if legally has some duties there. White isn't an ethnicity, may be only in the USA, but in Europe and other countries is different since an ethnic group is defined by an unique language, history and territory, so for example there are German Brazilians like Giselle bunchen or whatever her name is spelled, she is an ethnic german, white by race and a Brazilian national
Spoken like a true US-American... White is not an ethnicity, ffs. Polish is a nationality and an ethnicity.

What a stupid thing to guess ethnicity by appearance (if you're not an antropologist or raciologist). Goof luck to differenciate polish from lithuanian or russian, or swedish from german. When I see somebody I could try to guess depending in which country I am. If I see someone in Georgia, I could guess whether this person is georgian or armenian or greek or assyrian or ossetian or else and probably all guesses would be wrong. But in France I don't even try to guess, cos it can be anybody!

What are you even saying? Poles, Muscovites and Ukrainians are separate nationalities. I will not talk about the fact that Muscovy, which, according to you, is the creator of Ukraine and its ethnic group, literally stole its own name from Ukrainians.
