Kinda surprised to see Barb in the caboose with the fridge, but Necro has always been my go-to chill build, so it's nice to see that they're still really good for that.
The nerfing in d4 is insane compared to previous titles. They literally JUST buffed frozen orb and winterglass amulet and added a new aspect for lightning spear, and now have quadruple nerfed it for the next season. Why not just balance it into a happy middle ground?
I know Raxx is a god tier player and he's on the Maxroll staff/team, but I don't think LS is as dead as they think it is. Is it anywhere near what it was in S5? No of course not. But it was stupid busted and OP in S5. Don't get me wrong, I played it too and I enjoyed the hell out of it, but it needed to be nerfed. Do I think maybe Blizzard went too far? Yeah, maybe. But I've seen a lot of videos from dedicated Sorc content creators who played it in the early access version that some creators were given and they said it was still strong, but it's just more in line with everything else for Sorc. Obviously we'll see in a couple days if it's still viable, but I know that I'll probably give it a go at some point this season when I get done with Spiritborn.
@@jedirayden they removed the cooldown reduction stat on the winterglass so I think the pure lightning spear build won’t work anymore. It’s just funny because that stat was just added last season and now it’s gone, that’s kind of what I meant. They add something, then immediately reverse it.
I'm not surprised that Spiritborn is number 1, but I'm dissapointed that it's number 1 by a large margin. Yeah, they want to sell the expansion, but it's going to feel awful when they actually bring it down to earth.
selling the xpack aside, i do think it makes more sense to have the new class be overpowered and get nerfed some than start off being underpowered and getting buffed. makes for a terrible first impression.
For the survival category, you could rate the classes based on the ease of acquiring X amount of tankiness/defense or the level of investment it takes to achieve those levels compared to the other classes
You should definitely add a "Hardcore" category. A big part of the best builds for HC is the survivability, but it also allows you to include other factors.
"For the sorceress it seems like its every season its always the same build'. Bro, build diversity in D4 depends only on what numbers the devs will buff and which numbers they will nerf next patch, there is no space for any creativity. It feels sooo dry after 5 seasons already. There is not enough skills in D4 and (what might be more important) there's not enough skill interactions.
Like legit, there will ALWAYS be the same build, or two or three same builds, because you literally have 2 or 3 skills to play around :D Unless every cluster gets a few new ones to mix and match and go from 2-3 to like 10 builds per class, it will always be like this. Which will not happen cause the devs themselves confirmed it and the reasoning was that they want to keep the game approachable (i.e. we want to make a dumb game for casuals and dads of 5 kids to enjoy). This game for an ARPG player will always be something you play and don't think, because you're bored out of your mind or waiting for the next PoE league.
because its a shit game to begin with. So many flaws, so little creativity, no proper competetive leaderboards, lackluster type of pvp, no new classes, skills, or worthwhile mechanics, overpriced game that underdelivered and after all this time they want cash for an expansion, at this moment its a matter or ones self worth and intelligence that will decide if one will play d4 or not.
Interactions yes. Skills need to be changed more by lurgendurgs. No more whirlwind get 100 percent damage type stuff. I want, whirlwind now slings goblin teeth around the screen and enemies hit erupt causing earthquakes in immediate area, type stuff
Logout and make a spirit born is wilddddd haha but true. This season I'm aiming to make 3-4 spirit born builds and then I'll probs go for rogue new skill
Please consider a ranking system different than 1-6. The biggest problem I see with the current system is I can't tell if 1 is WAY out ahead of 2-6, if 1-6 is all clumped together, etc. I might like to try a new class but I likely wouldn't if I thought it would end up way underpowered. You could do the "traditional" SABCDF or assign points or whatever you like... just something that indicates relative power between the classes would be really helpful. Thanks for this video and others... have a good one.
Maxroll will have a best builds tier list that will be a little more comprehensive. It will show what builds shine and where. I find that to be better to go by since you can check out what builds might be good for a class before just playing it and finding out you don’t like the builds.
@@georgen5882 I don't disagree. When I saw this video I immediately checked maxroll but they haven't updated their tier lists for S6 yet. But... if we have to rely on maxroll then why make this content? I like Raxx's content, I'm just making a suggestion to improve it.
Remember the golden rule - play what you want to have the most fun. The way they set up the difficulty levels now - any build in the game will be able to do all of the content. It just might take you longer to get every single mythic item in the game if you play on Torment 1 instead of Torment 4. Don’t let a tier list from any streamer stop you from playing the class you want to play.
Thankfully I'm looking forward to Spiritborn before seeing that they were going to be so powerful. I'm really excited to play them, and will probably roll 2 or maybe even 3 of them this season to play with different builds. I am surprised that Sorc's are still so high up. Usually my favorite class, but I was really worried the nerfs were going to hurt them a lot. My first love has always been Sorc, and I'll roll one every season no matter how bad it gets, but it's always more fun when they feel good. The start of D4 was not fun, they did not feel good back in those days, so hopefully it doesn't get that bad again. I feel really bad for the Barb's out there.
Why my Druid at 5 again 😂 Last season the Stormslide was absolutely killing it. I hope Raxx got this wrong and someone soon find a incredible build for Druid! Thanks Raxx! Your videos is making this weekend very enjoyable. Can’t wait for Monday!!
The gap between StormSlide and Bearslide is highly over exaggerated. They are damn near even in the hands of a capable player, so it's not much of a loss. I just wish they would've pushed a build that is less used to be meta for s6. I would've much more preferred they made Shred wildly powerful since I already spent all of s5 playing StormSlide and Bearslide. I also think way too many bad players gave Necros a bad name in s5. My Blood Surge Necro is only slightly worse than the StormSlide Druid, and it's because it lacks boss damage, even though StormSlide isn't a great bosser either. Bearslide is an excellent bosser but doesn't have the AoE of either StormSlide or Blood Surge.
Endgame necro is actually in a really good spot (outside of our speed were slow as a car missing 3 wheels). Spiritwave, blood wave and hell even blood surge is insane in endgame. Spiritwave clears extremely quickly in terms of killing but we take ages to walk everywhere. Im still a bit sad that bone spear is basicly dead right now but with some of the new builds im happy still
The placement of Druids are giving me WD flashbacks... Nature peeps always getting gutted. But then the Spiritborn comes and wow! I hope both of these still survive to be fun to play.
I've been discussing the expansion, and game as a whole, with my friend group. We played hard on release and we're all planning on playing launch. We've all concluded that the game has gotten insanely easy, and that dying isn't really a thing. Hopefully the new difficulty stuff changes all of that, but it sounds like, with you're removal of survivability, that we were pretty close.
Ofc Barb comes last. I don't really mind Barb is last, I just hate that Barb is just so weaker than all the other classes, like 20 pit ranks below the last 4 classes.
Do highest Pit ranks cleared really matter though? 99% of an ARPG is speedfarming, be it the latter parts of leveling, mat farming, grinding for gear etc. Imo what really matters is how well a class speedfarms, how fun it does so, and how little disparity there is between speedfarm and push setups, so you can do both comfortably. One class has far and wide been worst at that, all the way since launch, and it's not Barb.
@asum7786 it did matter this season, T8 infernal hordes where not easy with barb. And it was the best place to farm mats. And T7 was slow still, which was a requirement to even upgrade your gear. So yeah it's problematic.
I think there are still going to be a few builds that are very good for barb and even the class like Druid so I still think anyone can play what they want and feel strong just maybe not nearly as many choices as spiritborn
Hey Raxx love your content.. Might I'd suggest when doing these to move your sponsors and your webcam a bit.. it blocks a lot of the info on the bottom of the slides
Raxx, if you go in and try other leveling builds, you should try a pure hydra/Hydra and Familliars build. Season 5, I was blasting through the game for leveling far faster with pure hydras than I was with Chain Lightning or Firewall leveling builds. The Hydra builds were hours faster on my 1-100 runs in S5. Especially if you temper everything to +hydra damage, and grab a staff and get +4 Hydra Heads tempered on it. Everything melts in seconds, and it's strong enough that you could push to WT4 by around level 35 (Probably could have done it sooner, but I always wanted sacred gear before pushing to the next tier.)
Not surprised to see SB on rank 1 - so we have a new Deathknight prob. for this season and for this season only - play it now, it will be nerfed sooner rather than later.
companions for druid definitely feel better than they ever had from what i tried on the PTR. I've tried to make them work a few seasons now and they've always just felt underwhelming but i think they'll actually be solid this season. definitely not the best but at least doable.
Maybe for survival you could do like "ease of survival." Some classes definitely feel like they are squishy only until you get a ton of gear or abilities
It feels like blizzard’s Diablo live team uses balance thrashing often due to having the major balance changes not as often. It just feels like the swing the pendulum back and forth with the fervor of a shot putter or something. I hope they can improve this in the future to not make things swing into obscurity or overpoweredness so often
From my understanding (not from this video), the Powerscale Tier List is as follows: Spiritborn > Sorc > Rogue > Necro > Druid > Barb. This list is based on how Overpowered the classes are for casual players, not the 1 percenters.
@@little_fluffy_clouds as far as I know there was a nerf in the patch notes. Also it’s the only powerful build by sorc while rogue has like 10 super good builds
For Barbarian: Remove the goddamn whirlwind entirely from the root of the game. Restrict 1 shout on the action bar. Unless both of those are done Barbarian will NEVER go out of "Get shouts and spam WW" style and gameplay. Every single time it is like that. And every single time "Barb is weak" just fu**n means "Well WW doesnt do enough damage and not fast enough". You can literally play another class. Not like they nerf it mid season wtf.
@@magentaurous4025 That's not the point. It's not even my preferred class to play. I'm just highlighting dumb decisions and overeactions by developers when it doesn't have to be like that. The management of D4 ever since it's initial release hasn't been great.
Excited to play Spiritborn! Love the Centipede concept, so hoping there is an A to S tier endgame build for it. Overall love seeing all the theory crafting. Have seen some amazing speed builds trying to incorporate Eagle/Jag with a dash of Gorilla, or Jag/Eagle with a dash of Centipede.
There will obviously be the best meta build, but hoping there a lot of variety that is only a few pit tiers below.
that starforge logo for the final rankings: great! :D
WHEN BRO SAID “KENMORE REFRIGERATOR” I SPIT OUT MY COFFEE. 😂 fucking dead. 💀 This is why Raxx is my favorite D4 content creator. Much love bro, great tier list as always lmaooo
Please never stop making videos!
Thanks for all the videos Rax! Its been a unreal help for us lazy blasting pigeons.
I am having the worst day. ‘Logout and make a spiritborn’ actually put a smile on my face 😅
That is insulting to 'fridges, as least they can keep things cold.
Tax I ordered and received my blue Maxroll sweatshirt, love it, fits great and good material so THANKS buddy.
No Raxxation without representation!!
@@alantremonti1381 “Our new tier list is now established, everything seems to promise it will be durable; but, in this world, nothing is certain except death and Raxx’s (blue hoodie.”)
@@jedirayden honestly why do u think it needs to be nerfed? Isnt it better if they bring the other class/builds to be as OP and fun as LS Sorc
@@jedirayden they removed the cooldown reduction stat on the winterglass so I think the pure lightning spear build won’t work anymore. It’s just funny because that stat was just added last season and now it’s gone, that’s kind of what I meant. They add something, then immediately reverse it.
@@jedirayden No, it didn't need to be nerfed. Flash killing everything on screen is fun. The alternative is less fun.
@@youngwang5546 Did they remove it or just make it an implicit so it can't go above 0.3? The wording was unclear
Great placeholder images for all the characters
I'm not surprised that Spiritborn is number 1, but I'm dissapointed that it's number 1 by a large margin. Yeah, they want to sell the expansion, but it's going to feel awful when they actually bring it down to earth.
selling the xpack aside, i do think it makes more sense to have the new class be overpowered and get nerfed some than start off being underpowered and getting buffed. makes for a terrible first impression.
People should know exactly how this will go. Its not that D4 is the only game that does this.
If you know your D3 history, it was like this for crusader and necromancer. They will slide down in later seasons.
What a great idea to make one class way above every other which will result in almost everyone playing one class, lol.
I don't see how making Spirit born the best class is needed to sell the xpack. The xpack already gives you a massive advantage.
Raxx is king of the tier list , fan since d3 days. Looks like LS/ FO will be the way for sorc but gonna try that goblin blaster for rogue as well.
Be me, coming back after ditching D4 before season 1 even started. Be me now. Seeing fav class at bottom of list. I cry a lot
People need to focus on this more. Why can I look at videos from s1 and see majority people running THE SAME SHIT a year+ later in an arpg...
Thanks you, exact reason i stopped playing
because its a shit game to begin with.
The disrespect is diabolical 😂😂 and I'm not even a barb main I'm a necro..
The historical ranking is dope
Was not having fun with the start of this season and was playing Barb lol. Guess i know what to change.
Thanks for the tier list. I will play for the 6th season in a row barbarian. Good luck everyone
Why my Druid at 5 again 😂
Last season the Stormslide was absolutely killing it.
These vids feel like Xmas eve just before the big day.
Great video. Thanks! Deciding between Eagle and Centipede.
Endgame necro is actually in a really good spot (outside of our speed were slow as a car missing 3 wheels). Spiritwave, blood wave and hell even blood surge is insane in endgame. Spiritwave clears extremely quickly in terms of killing but we take ages to walk everywhere. Im still a bit sad that bone spear is basicly dead right now but with some of the new builds im happy still
Thanks for all the videos and everything you do Raxx!
Perfect Videos. I feel like a Friend is Explaining the game to me. Good stuff. Do you do Build guides too.?
The placement of Druids are giving me WD flashbacks... Nature peeps always getting gutted.
But then the Spiritborn comes and wow! I hope both of these still survive to be fun to play.
Great tier list. I can't wait to start. I'm not sure whether spiritborn or necromancer, we will see.
Shatter/ice autobomber was so much fun... explosions and autobomber is my jam. Wish this wasnt nerfed so hard.
My favourite type of Raxx content
What do you mean of course? Barb in the top 2 classes all seasons except one and this expansion. Your statement would make more sense for Necro.
I think there are still going to be a few builds that are very good for barb and even the class like Druid so I still think anyone can play what they want and feel strong just maybe not nearly as many choices as spiritborn
Well barb has been reigning the best for all the other seasons so he had to be nerfed
I wish there was decent Hydra build not just for leveling or specialized end game haha
I’ll be playing Barb immediately
Doesn't even matter, playing spiritborn for obvious reason - new class is prime reason I bought the expansion to begin with
This was great Raxx, I'm so pumped for season 6, I think I'll let the mrs, play with the big toys tonight
I was waiting for this, thank you. No surprise on Spiritborn being 1, they want to sell the expansions and not make the new addition useless lol
Hey Raxx love your content.. Might I'd suggest when doing these to move your sponsors and your webcam a bit.. it blocks a lot of the info on the bottom of the slides
This video episode is full of Raxx delicious Special Dry Humor, well done! 😂
Nice tier list. I am grinding path of exile waiting for path of exile 2.
'casual' is a nice metric so i know what to recommend friends that aren't going to look into anything
Appreciate the video. Good info as always. I will say though as a HC only player, survivability info is missed.
I'm so excited for Spiritborn! I always wanted to build druid but I just hate them, so I am hoping spiritborn delivers
They’ll nerf it next month 😂😂😂
companions for druid definitely feel better than they ever had from what i tried on the PTR. I've tried to make them work a few seasons now and they've always just felt underwhelming but i think they'll actually be solid this season. definitely not the best but at least doable.
love these tier videos then the updated one a couple weeks later
I blast while im playing, but my gf plays more casually and i do her builds for her so i appreciate you covering the casual side if the game
In games, I usually ignore new classes for a while, but I think this time around I'll go with SB
Broo Rogue is #2 endgame for sure 😮 we have so many S tier builds
Sorcerer will be amazing and a contender for the #1 rank if Lightning Spear remains as powerful as it is in S5
@@little_fluffy_clouds as far as I know there was a nerf in the patch notes. Also it’s the only powerful build by sorc while rogue has like 10 super good builds
@little_fluffy_clouds LS is dead, over 85% nerf. Max LS is only 12, and Fractured Winterglass was nerfed.
Great content as always. I appreciate the effort you put into your videos and streams as well and the quality feedback that you give to Blizzard.
Good to see Blizzard are painting Warriors in WoW and Barbarians in D4 with the same brush
Look forward to the expansion - the list is always interesting, maybe too much hell-tide red going on though :) perhaps “3” scores should be yellow ?
Thanks RAXX for the vid!
If Spirit born feels much better to play than the other classes, I have a feeling we'll get class revamps within the next 6 months
step 1 announce new character in DLC
step 2 make it OP
step 3 sell DLC is large quantity
step 4 when popularity fall nerf it and return to ballance
Everybody laughs at the refrigerator until the refrigerator Goldberg spears a fallen shaman
Also it is the single most boring AF build in almost all RPGs, get rid of them, make Barb a hard hitting bruiser.
The eagle feather throwing looks fun so I'll start with that and the goblin blaster will be second
I'm ever hopeful that Druid will get it's spotlight and have a s-tier build that isn't as reliant on uniques.
Definitely running Spiritborn whenever they launch the Season kekw
This guys sarcasm is top notch comedy
