4% drop rate for that shield and it only drops from 1 knight. But with gold scared on you get 7k a kill so at least your getting somthing while waiting for it to drop.

*personally, I used my dragon-killer weapon, the Envoy's Long Horn-- it's melee attacks are solid and its Ash of War, Bubble Shower, absolutely melts dragons when you stand under them. Works a treat on every dragon you will encounter up to this point.
For the Furnace Golem - Flamedrake Talisman+2 (20%⬇Fire Damage) + Lance Talisman (15%⬆Damage on Horseback) + Dagger Talisman (17%⬆in Critical Damage) allowed me to beat him quickly in just 2 attempts & I'm far from "git gud" status after a 2 year hiatus 😱.

Exact same here. Used his walkthroughs for DS3, Sekiro, Elden Ring, and now here for Shadow of the Erdtree.
For blackgaol knight tips for str user you can use greatsword with giant hunt ash of war and then spam him with it he wont get to do anything and he will only attack if you stop to use flask to replenish FP
Works well but don’t need to be a str build. I used giant’s hunt on Clayman’s harpoon with my int build

I put some Messmerflame Grease on my Bloodhound’s Fang and just went off on him. Stunlocked him a few times.
Tree sentinel armour set boosts fire negation, dagger talisman boosts criticals and lance talisman boosts horseback combat. All useful for the fire gollum.
Tip: for the flame giant guy, when you see it is going to double stomp, back up quickly and then jump, you can jump without torrent but you need to back up since it does some kind of explosion. Also, when he’s knocked down, you can give it a high amount of hits and then the critical before it gets up again.
My Blackgaol Knight tips:
I went old school straight with a great shield, bloodhounds fang, started with bloodflame blade, and took it to him. Attack first and aggressive, the back off and block with the shield. It's all about stamina. My physick = thorny cracked tear and greenburst crystal tear. Strengthens successive attacks and temporarily boosts stamina RECOVERY.
Just watch that slashing thing he does. I suggest evading that (and the often follow-up). Otherwise, this setup worked for me and I'm no Cowboy 😂
Again, with this method, it's all about that stamina. Good luck!
These walkthroughs really show me how much I missed during the first part of the dlc
for anyone in ng+, use sacred relic sword for the dragon. I also found a cheese spot on a cliff to the left of the grace when walking towards the dragon, lure him into the face of the cliff and relic sword away, just back up for his flame attacks.

Easy way to beat that Furnace Golem if you have the Faith for it: spam Ancient Dragons' Lightning Strike, even when its stance is broken. If you have Mimic Bro as your summon then make sure you only have Golden Vow and Ancient Dragons' Lightning Strike memorized, no weapons equipped other than the Gravel Stone Seal, even better if you have one in each hand. You should also put Lightning -Shrouding Cracked Tear in your Flask of Wondrous Physick and equip the Lightning Scorpion Charm talisman, Faithful's Canvas Talisman, and Flock's Canvas Talisman to further boost the damage of the incantation. Use whatever you want for the other Tear in your Physick and the remaining Talisman slot.
Easy way to beat the Blackgaol Knight: equip the Sacred Relic Sword and spam its Ash of War, Wave of Gold. Enhance the attack power of Wave of Gold with Golden Vow, Holy-Shrouding Cracked Tear in your Physick, Sacred Scorpion Charm talisman, Shard of Alexander talisman, and the Ritual Sword talisman. I like to use either the Carian Filigreed Crest or the Green Turtle Talisman for the fourth talisman slot. Start spamming Wave of Gold as soon as you pass through the fog and the Knight won't even be able to shoot you with his fiery bolts. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
That great shield great spear battle with the solitude night gole was a thing of beauty bro Nice battle
For Blackgaol Knight, I just spammed the Blind Spot ash of war with blood backhand blades and he didn't even touch me. That move shreds pretty much any human proportioned enemy since it swiftly evades attacks, staggers reliably, and quickly builds up status effects all in one move. Plus, it's cheap to use and easy to get.
Backhand blade is ridiculously good, I hate the fact that I just did a playthrough with a blood build tho and wanna switch it up for the DLC. This makes me wanna go back to that playstyle so bad
@ShaneGillisownedSchulz I'm going dex and faith with it lol makes me feel like the raikage from naruto with some of these new AOW and incants
For the Ghostflame Dragon fight, if you have Sacred Relic Sword +10, spamming Wave of Gold will cheese the fight.
If you have raytracing on then I would suggest turning it off. That corrected the vast majority of hitches and stutters for me. It would be nice to use RT since I have a PC that can run it well. But I'd much rather have stable frametimes. HTH. ✌

Cowboy, re: your frame stutter issue-I'd also make sure you don't have Chrome open. For some reason on my realitively high end computer, I've noticed even 3 or 4 Chrome tabs on the second screen cause Elden Ring to stutter randomly like you're seeing. Doesn't happen with other games.
Giant hunt ash of war literally carried me through dlc. Anything remotely similar to me in size throughout dlc has been obliterated by it. Works really well on that Gail knight. Thank you cownoy for the epic walk throughs yet again

I used Adula’s Moonblade at 92INT Amur’s Glintstone staff +10 and about three or four hits staggered the fire boss

I just discovered Belurat Gaol from your Part 1 Walkthrough and at that point I already got the chonky rivers of blood with the Weed Cutter ash -- it just stun locked Yoda hahaha
Bloodhound's Fang with Bloodhound's Finesse is still such an amazing weapon. Makes the Blackgaol Knight Boss so easy.
So with the lore about the living saints and the pots…
Does that mean the pot dude was punished like that? Does that mean the little ones are punished children? Maybe I missed the lore on these guys earlier and/or from the dark souls series but this is the first I remember hearing about this and it has very dark implications
note about the ghost flame dragon is that, this sacred blade is not optimal at all. yet he was able to do that much damage
a normal sacred infused weapon with 80 faith could do much more damage than that
also using barrier of gold is helpful too
I used Maliketh's Black Blade and it obliterated the dragon much easier than any holy weapon I tried.

If you craft the hefty fire pots and throw them into the big basket on top of the fire golems then that brings them down quicker I believe.
Another thing you can do for blackgaol knight is wear great turtle shell and spam wave of gold he constantly falls over
If someone is struggling with the Blackgaol Knight, because you are not good enough with Parrys, just like myself:
Use Blasphemous Blade and spam the weapon art. He won't have a chance.
Can also spam the blood hound fangs weapon art. Just gotta time it right every time. Put some frost grease on too
For my Int buddies, spamming Dark Moon Greatsword helped for me
Just beware of the recent nerf to Blaspehmous Blade: no more knockbacks 😮💨
i spammed Wave of Gold after trying the fair way about 15 times lol
If you're a spear user like me... Just use the Thrust ashes of war. you do three quick consecutive hits. you can effectively stunlock invading NPC's and the Knights.

"Scadu" means shadow in Old English, but it's pronounced the same as our modern "shadow". They're called shadowtree fragments. But I think I prefer ski-doo tree lol
tip: get off the elevator immediately otherwise it will take you to the bottom and it's hard getting back on. I died because of that.

For sure watch part 1 again. Cowboy grabbed a few things he didn't on the last ones. A ball bearing and an OP talisman that regens FP over time..

This dlc got me doing cheep stuff like when i was new to from soft games. The old hit and run strat. Lol
The easiest way to nuke the furnace golems on a faith build is with fully charged ancient dragon's lightning strike with the gravel stone seal and godfrey's icon. One cast will usually stagger them. Do it three or four times and then hit them with a crit when they fall down. It almost feels like a cheese because it's too easy.
Tried a lot of different approaches for blackgaol knight. Finally beat him using dragon kings cragblade and just spammed him with thundercloud form 😂
GFD can be rotted, and Tiche also does work in that fight, as it felt, to me at least, a lot like a cross between Agheel and Smarag.
crag blade is awesome but I used wild strikes on quality great stars and absolutely smashed the furnace golem

Rivers of Blood worked really well against the Blackgaol knight. You can get in some really good damage if you wait for him to use his rappid fire move with the crossbow.
Just dodge the arrows by running too the left, and get close to him. Once you're near him, hit him two or three times with either normal hits or heavy hits.
Rivers of Blood even knocks him out of some of his moves. Just don't get too greedy with the hits, and you should be good.
Rotten breath/Mimic for that dragon worked for me.
Cowboy if u get behind the first fire golem and spam dragon lighting strike u can kill quick
On the big fire giant i used plus 25 iron greatsword cold infusion and the mimic.
For the lag issue, turn off ray tracing, amd set ot to prioritize graphics

If you are having trouble with Blackgaol Knight, just spam Sacred Relic Sword's L2, it will literally stun-lock him.
For ghost dragon, you can cheese him from the cliffside where you find the painter that gives a shield.
Just use a greatbow, he'll just walk around in circles. He may do breath attack, but it cant hit you.
Yoda messed me up twice before I took him seriously. He can easily get bullied but he can also humble you lol.
I don't know man I see you using the crag blade to try and get your staggers on the furnace column I use the runes greatsword +10 and I'm pretty sure I got staggered quicker than you did and I only have 50 in strength
I killed blackgal knight with a strength build. Using starscourge greatsword. I died about 4 times and then once I learned his pattern a little bit I just spammed the weapon skill. And he died.
this walk-through was completely different yesterday, I stopped at the start of the third Walk-through. Did you change any thing or add new stuff? should I re-watch from Beginning?

Yeh the furnace bois are chonky haven't had much luck with pots but anything that can pierce multiple times before fading will down em fastish .
Beat dragon 1st time with night comet build. He almost killed me, ran out of flasks and had half life lol. It does about half the damage of yours, still decent though. I want to try your build next though looks fun.
What that glowing disc on the ground at 12:00 ? A comment on it says “try gesturing”.

I tried using Adula's Moonblade while on Torrent and the Dark Moon Greatsword on the Furnace Golems and it surprisingly broke its feet faster. Weakness perhaps? Not sure if it's because of my stats coz it's the DLC after all. I previously used Hand of Malenia, Fallingstar Beast Jaw, and Mohg's nihil spear thingy haha

I killed him on Cowboys 1st video and didn't know he was weak to sacred blade. Someone should try buffing with last rites on the Golden Epitaph and then switching to there weapon with sacred blade to see if it doubles the dmg like it does on Death Birds.
Great stars + powerful strike = cheese constant knockdown and poise to withstand atk plus heal the damage he does to you

i started the fight with the dragon today at 1 pm and ended the fight at 2 pm ...everytime it gets off with 10% hp

For Blackgaol Knight I used Black Flame Tornado on the Nightrider Glaive, the poise tear (Leaden) and boiled crab. Ignore him when he 2H and punish him after he shoots. Watch out for the thrust after his AOW.
The sacred blade isn't where it's supposed to be for me and I don't own it any advise ?
It could already be attached to another weapon.

For the dragon, I used Maliketh's Black Blade + 10 (Unique Skill: Destined Death). It worked better than any holy weapon.
