That's quite a consist of motive power; steam and diesel. I had the pleasure of seeing the 844 in person at Union Station in Kansas City. Impressive, to say the least! Can't wait to see the "Big Boy"!!
Very good job! Couldn't take my eyes off it!! A question keeps coming to mind every time I've watched a 4014 video from this trip. Did the UP tender get put in backwards or is the U.S. Flag on it backwards. On both sides the stripes lead instead of the stars. Usually in this application it would be stars to the front! In fact that's the way it is on the UP loco!
There is a second engine #844 is that helping the lead engine or is it there just in case old grandpa needs help. But it don't look like grandpa needs any help, what a BEAST!
Hi Jason, Great video! Thanks for posting. How do steam consists know they are each pulling an appropriate amount so that each locomotive is doing their fair share of the work? Thx, Paul

That’s a lot of pulling power for just 11 cars.
About how fast were they going as you paced them?
Can’t hardly hear the exhaust over that packing leak!
Great video though!
