Long live TJ's. I just did a short feature of my dads' 98 TJ on my channel jeepNdirt titled "everyday TJ, avoiding high cost of JL". It's focused on the everyday/ adventure riding jeep on 33's, but boy you're so right. The love of TJ's is high. I'm showing my dad this video and telling him this should be next step. Lol.
The goal with the semi-float more than anything was to try and limit additional weight. I never broke a rear axle, and I don't believe Dusty has either. So, the strength has worked out fine. This V8 swap was a huge improvement over the four-cylinder, but it was not as powerful as I had hoped. Adding or removing 100 pounds was noticeable in this Jeep for sure.
That's awesome! This was a great Jeep for me. I sometimes regret selling it. But, with two kids that like to go wheeling with me now, it still wouldn't be a good fit.
I did a 5.2 magnum 44re from a durango swap in my tj. Such an easy swap. The wire harness was easy to. The durango pcm went in place of the tj pcm. They are identical. The tj should have had the magnum engine option. No check engine light with this swap. My tj thinks it's a durango now. Lol.
I don't recall extended and collapsed lengths unfortunately. The rear Kings are new to the build. Both are 12-inch travel and I believe have the shorter coil cups at the bottom.
Need more driver battles. Most of us subscribed to this channel for it. And has your most views.
Did I hear off-road driving battle!?
Love the 360 magnums

Cool build with lots of well-done upgrades. I love the 4-link front and rear. Still scratching my head on the semi-float though.

What ever happened to the Heavy Metal Mudder? It was rad with the Rockwells and V10.
It's right up the street from me. I sold it to a friend. He drove it a little when he first got it and it's now sitting in storage.
How tall are the coilovers?
