    It’s dope that Kenyon was able to control and master his speech. When he first came in the league had a very noticeable speech impediment(stutter).

      yes but if you were strong you could deal wit shaq ala ben wallace or even a dennis rodman who had a strong base solid as a rock . alot of these guys talking were either not strong enough or they were just too light for a 300lb man . if you think shaq was dominat try dealing with a man 300lbs all solid muscle .       @@ryanr20091 you are correct. Wilt was ridiculous. A guy that big, long & strong should NOT be one of the fastest guys in the league. And with his fadeaways & finger rolls, he was one of the few centers who would still do ridiculously well if they ever outlawed dunking.
      But if they did that with Shaq, the man would've been lost. Hakeem, David Robinson, & maybe Patrick Ewing could still have been really good in that situation, but not like wilt. Plus...there's a YT video of wilt shooting hook shots from three point territory while talking...he made like 3 or 4 in a row. WTF? A shot he almost never used, & he mastered it like that?

I mean, I could go back & name all the skilled bigs, from Pau Gasol to Yao to Arvydas Sabonis to Bill Russell, Robert Parish, & company...but the point is the same: WILT was top 3 all-time in terms of skilled/finesse bigs as well as being the all-time strongest player ever, & has to rank top 1 or 2 in terms of using that strength/his athletic ability (to dominate) as well.

      Actually, a lot of teams showed how to stop Kobe. Just make it difficult and he'll try to shoot himself out of a hole. He had a number of poor shooting inefficient playoff series'.

Yes his weight shortened his prime, but from 1993 to 2004 he was the most dominant player we have witnessed and we have never seen anything like it. His game was built off power, agility and great feet. If he played at a lower weight, he would be injured even more

Shaq has never been as dominant as Wilt hell his numbers prove it, Shaq played 5 more years had less MVPs, less points, less rebounds and if they counted blocked shots he’d be number 1. Yes Shaq could’ve been the goat but he was lazy in the off season. Old Wilt gave prime Kareem trouble, all Shaq has is 2 more rings and finals mvp since it didn’t exist with Wilts first championship

      Van Horn was always really underrated, he was great in NJ. I don't think he and K-Mart played together though, Van Horn may have been in Philly / Milwaukee / NYC by then, think KVH was more with Sam Cassell / Kittles / Jayson Williams.

      @@TheManFromJerz201 I mostly agree, but he was just coming into his own. I feel injuries derailed him more than attitude. Healthy I see him as the perfect "3rd star" type on a team, to compliment two other more alpha type players. Helpful to know he and K-Mart did have two years together though, although that may be one of the ones where KVH played 20-30 games only when he started getting hurt.

      @Tyler Holt Yes it does. Kobe beat majority of players 1 on 1 on his way to 5 chips. Hell, he beat 2 on 1, 3 on 1 or even 5 on 1 on certain nights. Players who can't even go 1 on 1 are usually the ones who have no chips.

This man the reason #4 is my favorite number...his ferociousness & athleticism at Cincinnati made an instant impact on me. His passion for the game came out thru the screen & i appreciated it.     This is just my opinion Shaq has always been one of my favorite players when I was kid I was a huge Lakers fan in the early 2000's I watch him play he was so dominant in the paint very skilled for his size as a big man to score..

    For awhile the Jazz and Spurs slowed Shaq down. Then he figured them out and won 3 back to back titles and then went on to 2 more Finals, winning one.

      Shaq's downfall is his free throw shooting, and his pick'n roll defense. Mike Bibby also had enormous success with in '02 with Sacramento's high post offense, which resembles a lot of what teams run today. And then the '04 Pistons just took this to the extreme with Chauncey Billups.
      Those 3-peat Lakers were lucky they didn't have to face many guards that can break down their defense. The cracks started show with Bibby in '02, Tony Parker in '03, and Billups in '04.

      @@richdixon1572 You didn't watch the games if you think he wasn't skilled. You can't even play the triangle without bigs that can pass. Adjusted for today's pace he'd avg over 4 assists. Had solid handles for his size and occasionally kept the ball in transition. You didn't get to see his skills as much bc Phil slowed the game way down to get rid of opponent transition points.

    Kenyon Martin was definitely a tenacious defender and competitive player throughout his career. But it’s completely false that it was a chess match when he played against Kobe Bryant. Kobe destroyed him countless times. It wasn’t even close

    Shaq's downfall has always been his free throw shooting, and his pick'n roll defense. This was first exposed by the Utah Jazz in '97 & '98. Mike Bibby also had enormous success in '02 with the Sacramento Kings' high post offense, which resembles a lot of what teams run today. And then the '04 Pistons just took this to the extreme with Chauncey Billups.
    Those 3-peat Lakers were lucky they didn't have to face many guards that can break down defenses. The cracks started to show with Bibby in '02, Tony Parker in '03, and Billups in '04.

      Tony Parker was on the 01 spurs. Swept by lakers. Also on the 04 spurs. Lost to lakers 4 to 2. What beat shaq was getting out of shape and chubby. That's why kobe wanted him traded. Had nothing to do with the opposition. Just watch 2001 playoff shaq. Monster. Just watch his defensive highlights from 01 when he was in shape. Multiple blocks in a row, throwing outlet passes, and doing 360 dunks

    Shows Kenyon Martins versatility that his two toughest assignments were Kobe And Duncan: polar opposite wing and post players.
    I remember watching Kenyon guard Tracy Mcgrady on the perimeter. As a power forward his quickness of feet was a sight to see.

      You are talking the Orlando Shaq. The Lakers Shaq was a completely different beast. Bigger, quicker and especially denser. Shaq had the ability to be bigger than everyone else but stay as agile as the smaller centers and that was on full display on 2000.
