Hey! A few people are saying here and there that I got a few things wrong, involving why they disassociated with J.Star, and honestly I’m not too sure if that’s right because it was never really 100% clear bar them saying he has a problematic history.
Same thing in regards to a few tweets being posted, this was based on the information of tons of articles and videos I’ve watched. Thanks to teaspill btw haha, but yeah if I did get anything wrong I apologise! Appreciate you all

I dont know if you knew this but many people got mad at her because instead of addressing the issue she basically turned off her twitter account for a while and deleted a lot of tweets including the ones that got her in trouble. She is also not liked because she now monitors her comments and deletes any negative ones and is suddenly preaching about positivity

Who ever she has working for her needs to be fired... How any of them let her upload that sorry video is confusing as hell! There is no way she does all this on her own. I can’t even with it all. She’s a mess and only came back to sell a Christmas palette
Her manager probably thought it was a good idea to apologize. However, scripted videos will never have the genuine sense of personal videos. We shouldn’t be so hard on her, we all make poor choices at times.
The worst part is it may not have been people working for her, but people working for Manny , whose main interest is going to be Manny's income. Maybe they have the same people but it seems like many UA-camrs have inept management. Good management would understand to scrub their clients' old social media of this kind of crap on day 1 of being employed by them.
Roly No Kidding! In Gabriel’s video, he spoke about their PR/Management teams ‘plan’ for the 4 of them, with Gab being the “sacrificial lamb” and the amount of time between each of their apologies and TELLING THEM WHAT TO SAY! There is no way, while dealing with a controversy like this, that her PR Team/Management etc. would let her post an official apology/statement without seeing it themselves first. It’s mind blowing that numerous people gave this the OK, and not just a group of random people, but professionals - who do this as their career!

I think in addition to the fake ass apology, the fact that she apologized for "retweets" instead of owning up to the fact that SHE tweeted these things herself was the nail in the coffin. and the fact that her tweets about police officers and black people happened at a time in america when police brutality was all over the news and it was a huge conversation. it was just vile. like with that context, there was absolutely vile intent which made this different than someone getting exposed for casual racism, like tweeting the n word because they "don't know any better."
I did a background check on Laura Lee and she has a pretty consistent past generally making racial taunts and slur-jokes on twitter. So, I'm really not moved by these fake apologies for their brand image considering they don't even address their own accountability in it but just claim they were young to dismiss criticism. Or when these women claim to be anti-bullying but then proceed to attack other people on their looks or talk shit on social media off camera.
Laura also cant claim ignorance, for conveniently doing it in 2012 when the racial controversies started to spike, to not only making slides at people referencing recent issues, but also going between different racial groups in her digs, like her jokes about Asians. She knows she deleted her twitter because she has a lot of stuff people haven' seen. Or you have Nikita Dragun dodging her own tweets trying to rationalize child abuse and racism. Only now just claiming now that shes trans, that it has anything to do with her own beliefs unless she knows that now she is a target of transphobia, so suddenly shes 'woke'. I hated it when Caitlin Jenner did that, and I don't like it here. She didn't even address the fact she had 2k likes for those tweets. Shame that all these big youtubers have all the same dirt on them.

Gabriel Zamora hasn’t died because he: 1- apologised to Jeffree and had a proper conversation with him, talking about everything and apologised publicly, 2- he only met Jeffree a few times and talked business so they weren’t friends, 3- he was misinformed by Laura lee and manny mua. 4- he told the truth and didn’t pr a UA-cam video after the tweet.
Also Nikita Dragun who is also in the picture got an “out of jail free” card by keeping quiet. She hasn’t addressed the situation at all which is really interesting but it was brought up by James Charles in a video that includes both Nikita and Gabriel.
Also Manny Mua tried to use a “Shane Dawson docuseries” as a pr stunt, the beauty community and Jeffree have lashed out about the situation, I recommend watching Tea Spill for quick updates on the implosion of the beauty community because it does summarise the tea quickly so you know the context behind a situation
Nikita actually did mention about her disturbing tweets on her Instagram story though she pulled the "oh I've changed my gender which means I'm a new a person so it's not my fault it's my previous gender fault" card. If you want to watch it I think it's up on youtube
she apologised personally to jeffree star and not making a video about it. her and jeffree were dancing together at a halloween party which shows that everything is chill between them
Gabriel saved his channel by being HONEST and being GENUINE and by Jeffree being the bigger person and accepting the apology and talking to him in private

Her crying is so fake, it's laughable. NO ONE cries like that. The voice rising, FAKE tears, OML I was shocked how she thought people would buy it. I can imagine her setting up her *non-existant* crocodile tears, record, then go on her day as normal immediately after turning the camera off. Her apology would have been more convincing if she was just straight forward about it, and (for once) being legit sincere. And the other people who were criticizing Jeffree for his tweet, when they had their own? LMFAO!
It was so fake, ASMR channels dragged her.

Hello, I dont want to defend Laura Lee, but the Homeless foudation, she had work with them before she mostly talked about it on social media, not on YT. Beauty Sleuth Truth made a video and put to light this information. Just to give a at leat one thing. I think thats why she went and did the video with this fondation and not another one.

The reason Laura Lee went down in flames is this:
1. Nobody who comes for Jeffree Star comes out looking good. Look at what’s going on with Thomas Halbert right now. People need to learn it will never end well!
2. Their tweet was considered bullying and people really didn’t appreciate it at all.
3. She got exposed and then came out with a horrible apology video. It was fake and it angered a lot of people. As soon as that video came out, the beauty community went up in flames.
4. The social combing. To essentially act as if Jeffree didn’t do anything for them and move on from one influencer to the next... The beauty community doesn’t like fake people who use other influencers.
5. The ego. They acted like they were better than others, and they became kind of like the “mean girls” of UA-cam.
And yeah, that apology video was cringy. There’s a reason Gabriel is doing so well after the incident. He was real and honest. That’s what we want to see.

But what if I did?
What I think. When manny laura and jeffree were friends, jeffree was the only on with connections AND his own brand. He did a makeup collab with Manny, then helped Manny and Laura to start their own makeup brand with giving connections etc. They used him. Jeffree apparenly (alledgedly) was going to invest in both of their companies, Lauras was first and it was not as succesfull as hoped so he decided NOT to invest in Mannys brand and this is why it took Manny 5 months longer to launch his brand. He also owns killer merch wich manny had something going on there. After Jeffree decided not to invest the two of them cut ties with jeffree. They started getting hate, so Manny went to jeffree place to ”talk” and post a pic on snapchat. Jeffree posted it on twitter. He later realized Manny only came there cuz he was getting so much hate and tried to use jeffree once again, to get the hate away. So jeffree deleted it. Manny captioned the photo ”cathing up”

She'd also started getting taken out of stores and lost major brand deals just before her convenient timing of her video on homelessness.. That whole drama made me sick, to use others misfortune to try to seem like "hey I'm a good person"

If there is anything I dislike about conceited people like Laura Lee. She uses homeless people to deflect off of people calling out her on her actions. They are just a red herring for her so she doesnt have to address it.
only one thing, manny and laura didn't stop being friends with jeffree because of business; they stopped being friends with him because they weren't getting anything out of him anymore, connections, gifts, etc.
For someone who hasn't been invested in the beauty community for a long time this is a very high quality video, keep up the good work

I think it’s time to address that whole of UA-cam dying, it’s not just one specific person anymore. A lot of us are starting to watch UA-cam less. I think the main group of content that’s dying is the beauty community. The main reason I’ve stopped watching so many beauty gurus is because how unrealistic they are. Jeffery Star is a different story but everyone else. The constant PR, the constant ‘use my code, click on the link’ blah blah it’s just losing its weight at this point. It’s a credibility thing. Also, you tubers MAKE so much money it’s stupid. I watch them make videos in their studio apartment, then the next year they brought a 100,000 dollar Lamborghini.

Am I thinking of a different situation, or didn’t the other party come after him calling him a f*ggot and shit? I could be totally thinking of a different situation, but he had a vocabulary that I believe that a majority of people have used themselves, and some quickly learn more than others that it is NOT okay to use that vocabulary and people absolutely do not take kindly to it or humor it, Jeffree and Laura took a long time due to probably have disregarding it and having others bring it back to their attention. They know its not ok, theres no need to apologize to who they specifically targeted YEARS AGO, they addressed it and as humans know that it’s not ok and at one point in their lives had a foul sense of humor. To be fair in a sense, he defended himself for the woman attacking him (again, IF IM THINKING OF THE RIGHT SITUATION, dont come at me lol) but that being said obviously doesn’t excuse the language he used. People make mistakes and they learn, and again it is not necessary to apologize to a specific person, but address a mistake that was made and are aware it is wrong.

I agree. It seems the people accepting apologies for behavior like this are the people who aren't affected by the language. I have not forgiven him, nor Pewdiepie, or anyone else for that matter that has used that word. I also believe they only apologize to save their career and not because they are actually sorry.

It’s super interesting that everyone forgets that Nikita was apart of this too... she was apart of the old controversial tweets dig, but I think the main reason why she got away with it was because she A.) didn’t apologize B.) didn’t acknowledge it C.) and didn’t FAKE apologize. Wow, you're the only channel I've seen actually talk about her after the apology video (other than Pewdiepie). It's always nice to know more behind and after the situation, after everyone's moved on.

Great video as usual. I have been taking note of the beauty drama from Peter Monn Channel who has covered it in depth with all the different parties. Still good to see a view of someone who is not wholly invested in the beauty community. As you are branching out to other areas of youtube drama could you please make a video on modest fashion influencer Dina Tokio and her taking of her hijab, including the back lash she has faced. Including BBC Asian Network having a whole show on it. It would be good to see a outsider perspective. Also I know you try to be fair and unbiased in your videos and do attempt to report the facts as you know them - often when this is issue is covered by others their is biased agenda.
like your channel dude. got some facts wrong. the main one being manny and laura didn't dissociate from jeffree due to his problematic past. they used jeffree but we don't really know the full reasons why they stopped being friends. none of them have actually talked about it publicly. all speculation but much deeper and jeffree was deeply hurt by whatever they did. fake friends. anyway, for not being in the know of the BC, still did a nice job.

Hiya, I think the only other thing that got people suspicious of Laura's intentions was her first reaction to this was to delete her whole twitter. It got people wondering what else was on there.

I love your channel but a lot of wrongs here sadly. Jeffree dropped Manny M U A (as in make up artist) and Laura because they were using him for subs, his connections for their own makeup brands and ultimately he cut them off and there was a lot of bad blood. They started declining because a lot of their subs were there because of jeffree and then people started getting put off. A lot came out like manny getting paid allegedly 80K to post a negative review of a brand by a competitor, faking swatches to make products look better because they are getting paid and things like that.
People mostly get sooo invested because people trust beauty ytubers for product recommendations. When we find out they were scamming us out of our last £40 to buy a shit Eyeshadow Palette that they were paid £60K to promote or have an affiliate code with, its a bit of a slap in the face.
Ultimately it's super messy cos loadsa people have been exposing a lot of behind the scenes stuff and a lot of us feel scammed. It's a shame really. Xx
