The business was doing illegal practices like advertising 48 hour sales and having it reset and labeling it as 70-80$ brushes and act like they where actually selling them at that price.. For example.
She should have KNOWN better KNOWING that Tana promoted them that’s a HUGE RED FLAG. She’s known to LOVE to scam her FANS.
Just because they get the brushes STILL DOESNT TAKE AWAY FROM THE FACT ITS A HUGE SCAM.

It's hard to admit something was your fault, but the thing is, it's easy enough to do a PR apology where you don't actually put all the blame on yourself but still come across as genuine and apologetic. I'll write one for her: "Gosh, guys, I know there's been a lot of controversy about these brushes. I won't make it a secret that they sponsored me, it should be obvious, but I should've done some more research about the brushes they were actually selling. I get why you're all upset, I'll try to do better in the future when it comes to sponsorship deals." Easy peasy. Take a little bit of the blame but not all of it, promise to do better, say you get why people are mad.
I mean a genuine apology is better, but I don't know why all these people can't even muster up a fake apology that's meant to soothe people over, rather than all these "I'm sorry YOU messed up, I didn't do anything wrong, all of YOU are just overreacting" apologies.

People STILL having not received their package after months, the counter that just resets making the buyer think that he sale is going to end (illegal), the sites terms and conditions including products they don’t even sell in the site. She scammed people but that video she made was very blame pushing. Telling us that we just need to get better with expectations.....it was her fault that she didn’t double check before promoting that. But she blamed HER FANS for what SHE promoted. She didn’t take responsibility like she should have she pushed the blame on other people. I miss when she was just The Gabbie Show. Idk she’s just become so full of herself and irresponsible! Somewhere along the line she just turned into someone I no longer enjoyed supporting. Yes I sometimes still watch her content but I’m not excited about it like I used to be. I what you’re all saying, but that’s not my point. She’s acting as if it’s her follower’s faults for not having their standards low enough and not even recognizing the fact that they’re listed as “$80 brushes”... at least recognize that. Not dissing the quality of the brushes, just the fact that she ignores what they’re listed at. Yes, many stores do “markdown pricing”, but this is a site already proven to host scamming countdown “sales” and not to mention the fact that 80% is a very, very large margin to markdown.

    • @FrenkTheJoy
      @FrenkTheJoy 5 років тому +2

Yeah, that really annoyed me. Also why people are arguing with you/explaining to you. Yeah companies markup to markdown, but that's not what you're talking about. There's no way anyone would know they were $10 brushes if they were marked as "originally $80" on the website, so telling people they should've known the $10 brushes were cheap quality is stupid.

I see people are like it "started with Tana not Gabbie so let's not get on Gabbie so much." the thing is that this is the shit we expect from Tana and if nobody learned from Tanacon, dear God help them. Everyone knows Tana is not sincere, except her fans who literally are numb in the minds. However Gabbie doesn't seem untrustworthy (I might be wrong) like Tana, so it's more disappointing hearing that she promoted the same product ( *scam* )as Tana. As someone who claims she cares, by not doing a thorough check or at least getting her hands on the brush before promoting it to assure the quality, she just promoted it blatantly, with no product in sight.
And her apology was like a slap in the face. People have paid more than just 10 dollars for this crap, due to the obvious cost of shipping internationally, which is quite an ugly price, but some have not gotten their brushes yet and are still waiting. And the worst part was that she left the deal up just to *see if fans were getting their brushes instead of ending it immediately to stop the chaos?* Honestly I don't know what to expect from her anymore. But I guess, from Gabbie's own words, we should maintain our expectations. Or maybe we should start expecting less from our so called, beloved *influencers* .
Their not Gods, their people. Stop holding them up to some standard.

There were several times a customer would peel that "sale" sticker off just to see it wasn't actually on sale (same price was listed for regular price) and they would rage on us associates, despite us not being at fault. Her shirt says what her whole response truly is... "Sad"

Her response to all this is disgusting, and is what really pissed people off, not as much her promoting Kenza itself. The shadyness of that company goes beyond the price of the brushes as well, if you want to know more watch Gabriel Zamora's snaps or Markie's series of video in the subject. She needs a reality check desperately.

I would say I have been a Gabbie fan for about a year and a half and I don’t like tana at all and I just decided to consider Gabbie as a separate person different than Tana. This I feel shows, she’s just as bad as tana with her tanacon disaster. This is just plain bad and just sad Gabbie consciously decided to do this.

It doesn’t sound reasonable you said they were $70 now you’re saying no they’re only a dollar so she straight lied to everybody!!!

My only counterpoint is, when she said "I love these marble ones" I dont think she had those brushes, I think she was saying she loved the way those brushes look. BUT you've made a good point.

The thing that really pissed me off with this was how rude she was in the ‘addressing Kenya’ video like hun no don’t imply the people who support you are stupid just because they trusted you and the website 🙄 just apologise Jesus

The irony of giving companies advertising that she said she wouldn’t advertise by making a video about how she wouldn’t advertise them.

I think the idea of them is that the influencer can say whatever they want about the product without the obligation to speak positively they would have with a sponsorship. I'm pretty sure Safiya Nygaard did it (without an arrogant "apology" 😂) and explained it a lot better. (Sorry for being a comment necromancer)

iNabber is basically the John Oliver of UA-cam Drama. It’s a big compliment. Love these so much.

You've become so so so so so much better at making videos, when I watched you for the first time it was a way older video where you just rambled for so long I lost myself completely but you have become so much better at getting your points across, it's really nice seeing your improvement!!!
