Also, there are sales specifically for when a house is being demolished where you can get building supplies from that house (paver tiles, windows, doors, etc). If you can find some of those (try Craigslist) then you might get some vintage stuff you can put into the new addition.

Your vertical ribbed glasses were all the rage in the 50's. The clear were more for the bar cart and the colored for the family dinner table. I remember them from my childhood. Yup, I'm that old. Mom got hers at Woolworths. How do I remember this? My sister & I were fighting in the back seat of the car & broke them. I had literally just started getting an allowance- as in the 1st time ever - when a month's worth of our allowances had to go to replacing her glasses. The devastation was very real but the lessons that came with that experience have lasted a lifetime. I don't know if yours date back to that time but that's when the vertical ribbed glasses hit the scene.
at 8:07, I'm pretty sure that's a bed warmer! you would put coals in it from the fire and then stick it under your sheets in the winter to warm the bed before you get in ☺

I use those candles in my windows at Christmas. When I turn mine on they stay on for 6 hrs and cycle off and on every night. I love them. I hang a simple green wreath with a red bow on it in the middle of the window and then place the candle underneath. I have 6 windows on the front of my home and from the outside it looks so pretty! I absolutely love it! I buy a big box of batteries at Home Depot on Black Friday every year. And that is more than enough at a decent price! Your moms paintings are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!
I also have those mugs, you were right on. They are made by Paul Sebastian in the late eights. I got them right when they came out and I still have them. I received them as a gift purchase from Lord & Taylor Dept. Store. I do use them when I have company over. I really enjoy your videos. Keep them coming.

Texas have some of the best thrift stores. When I lived there, I furnished my apartments twice from thrift store and bulk day finds.
