Lots of fun!! Romeo is so respectful of you. He has such a gentle soul. As a mother of grown sons, we notice these things. MaCenna, as always you are such a positive, authentic role model for so many. As a side note: The copper 'tea pot' is actually a kettle and on one of your other videos you bought a tall 'tea pot' which is actually a coffee pot. Before we had coffee makers, coffee was brewed in a percolator on the stove and you would pour it (decant) into your coffee pot after it was brewed. Have a great day ;-)

I absolutely love your thrift/estate sale/antique shopping vlogs! I can’t wait to see how you decorate with all your treasures you have found in your adorable cottage! Also spring for a couple hardware pieces from the store in LA if you can. It will be so worth it especially if you keep thinking about them! Especially ifs it’s in an area that you use a lot such as your kitchen or a main door. It will just be that little extra piece that will make you happy everyday:))

I WAS HOPING YOU GOT THAT CROCHETED BLANKET! I saw you put your hand on it and I was like, "she has GOT to buy that!" and I can't tell you how happy I was to see you finally pull it out of the car! My great grandmother always had a spread on her bed like that and it was passed down to my mom. Mom passed but my dad isn't willing to give it up yet! I'm in no hurry, but I'm so glad you got yours! Depending on the color of the stains, you could always dye it a darker tan or brown.

When I have bought crocheted blankets at thrift store I’ve always put them in a hot water in the bathtub with borax, oxy clean, and tide powder. It really takes the yellow out and is a lot safer for the tassels! Ps love your videos and you inspire so much new design ideas for me!

The stacked casseroles with blue flowers @5:33 I want those!! My mom had those when were growing up and being a single mom with twins you can have nice things so I'm recollecting all her pretty things that we broke growing up.
My mom had them too. The pattern is called cornflower blue by CorningWare. I still use them today.
I just found out about estate sales last year and furnished so much of my home. Now I'm addicted 😁
You got some amazing finds between thrifting & estate sales. Love all the brass & copper items, especially that copper roasting pan - if you went to buy a new pan, you would be paying a lot more - that was a steal! Also, the crocheted/ knitted blankets were great finds, both were beautiful. Always look forward to your videos.

One large painting is Thomas Kinkade. He was a famous artist from where I used live. I have about 5 of his paintings. That’s a copy but they used sell for $400 that size.

For cleaning spots on linens, an OxiClean and hot water soak before washing/ and citrus based solvent for old grease stains like salad dressing.🙌🏻

Ah...the teapot, or kettle as we call them over the pond! I recognised it right away!! A few Christmases ago I asked my son what he would like for Christmas for the both of them...he wanted a copper kettle. I browsed and found - the Simplex kettle. They are horrendously expensive here, at around $350. Anyway, I looked on Ebay, and could not believe my luck...a never used but old one, that I snapped up for about $60. It was immaculate but tarnished. Specialist cleaner and a couple of hours later and it was gleaming - my son and his fiancee were over the moon! It is used daily in his home, and still cleans it regularly :-) I love the large copper roasting pan you got...good price and it's gorgeous. So many good finds :-)

I’ve been to estate sales with my husband. I always spend a lot. I’m not sure why he takes me. Now we have a place that does it online. He’s going tomorrow to pick up what we bought. I think half my house has come from estate sales. He found a chest of drawers at one sale. And a cedar chest that matched it at another sale. He once bought out an entire ladies closet, just for the hats. It was a really nice house. We went to a sale in Ohio that was at the president’s of NCR. I’m not sure if everyone has heard of it. But it had his pay stubs from back in the sixties. And that man made a lot of money. The house was huge. You could have gotten lost in it. I was walking around just to look at the house. But it is easier to buy it online and pick it up.

Teapots are for brewing and serving tea. Tea kettles are for heating water.
For the blankets use baking soda and laundry detergent in a delicate cycle and hang them

Tea pots are usually ceramic and you brew tea in them. What you call a tea pot is a kettle, used to boil water.

I went to ikea yesterday ! & got so much stuff that I probably don’t even need 😂🤦🏻♀️ I saw a dimmer lamp there & I think it’s the same one you have at your LA home on the shelves 🤔 I thought it was so beautiful & was excited to find it at ikea ! & I got it in like a cream color 🥺 I have no idea where I’m going to put it but I grabbed it anyways & I will find a place to display it ! 😂❤️

The thing with buying tools at estate sales - you have to be careful if it runs off battery because the battery might be so old it doesn’t last long. And to buy a new replacement battery, it might not be worth it depending on the price of the tool. Just a helpful tip I’ve learned!

Something about the estate sales makes me sad. I imagine the young couple that once collected all the items years ago and now have passed away…maybe. And then to top off the negativity, I imagine my stuff being sold like that someday. Crazy, huh?

That large tasseled item is a hand crocheted bed spread .
My mother had one from her *grandmother who made it. Now my sister has it.
Those beauties are frequently family heirlooms.
