  • Presenting to you the coverage of my ride onboard the last surviving NG section between Itwari Junction & Nagbhir, once a part of glorious Satpuda Railway network started more than 100 years ago, now falling under the jurisdiction of Nagpur (SECR) division of South East Central Railway, Maharashtra.
To begin my journey, I boarded 58845 NG Passenger for Nagbhir from Itwari Jn. As I settled down in my window seat, 58844 NG Passenger service from Nagbhir pulls into Itwari, headed by ZDM3A #194 named "DR. AMBEDKAR" homed at MIB (MOTIBAGH) NG DLS. I was amazed to find out that my train was powered by ZDM4A #226 of MIB painted in wonderful livery of Indian Tricolor... This is probably the only locomotive in India painted in tricolor flag of the country !!!
At 7:20, it was surprising to see the train completely ignoring & skipping Mahuli station.
At 7:45, at Kuhi, my train crosses 58878 Nagbhir-Itwari NG Passenger service hauled by ZDM4A #230 of MIB, which was already waiting in loopline.
At 11:00, my train takes girth of a fairly big curve.
At 11:55, my train arrives at Umred, one of the biggest station on this section having some facilities.
At 12:15, the trains proceeds towards Nagbhir with this gorgeous looking tricolor engine !!! See how the locomotive pilots acknowledge me filming this grand departure, by giving a long hoot & by waving at me... :-)
At 14:00, my ride back to Itwari, 58846 Passenger from Nagbhir headed by ZDM4A #210 from MIB arrives at Umred.
At 14:25, take a look at my own cabin... I was seated on a single seat right behind the door, making it like an enclosed cabin.
At 16:00, my train pass by the graveyard of narrow gauge rolling stock. Carcasses of passenger coaches, freight wagons, caboose can be seen rusting away, waiting for their destiny :-(
At 16:45, the journey ends at Itwari Jn. The train then heads back to depot.
    Thanks for watching !!!

What a classic and historic rare vdo captured by you. Very thankful to you if you want to see big cities and rich peoples you have to travel in rajdhani and shatabdi trains only but if you want see real India of rurals and simple peoples you have to travel through any narrow-gauge railways of India. Narrow-gauge railways is present and saw us real India real Hindustan. Other things is that narrow-gauge railway is heritage property of our nation. We must preserve for ever at any cost.

I would like to state here that I became a railfan by searching the remains and by travelling on the erstwhile smaller gauge trains like that on the AK-MHOW (MG), NGP-JB(NG). These journeys initially developed the interest in me to become a railfan. I always have a respectful and soft corner for smaller gauge trains. And, in your channel, I have seen some really cool and great narrow gauge train journeys and captures in the recent past, including this one. They are jewels! Thanks a lot for sharing this!
    Respect.

Kaustubham Sharma Thanks a lot for appreciating my work !! These simple, rustic smaller gauges of IR have become jewels now, considering their diminishing presence from the IR map. If you have documented any of these, please share the link... Would love to see it

Your reply state my story too.
Join fb group Glorious Meter gauges and narrow gauges railways of India . The group serves the same interest. And even I am also fan of smaller gauge railways only. U can find many of MG NG on my UA-cam too.
