- This is an intermediate to advanced Spanish listening activity.
The Spanish listening activity will have a quiz at the end for you to check your understanding. Maria is a Colombian Spanish teacher, that is teaching Cody who is a native English speaker, how to speak Spanish. These are fun Spanish lessons that will help you with Spanish grammar, verb conjugation, and be able to speak Spanish fluently and confidently. It's that time when we need to get the groceries, so this time you're going with me to get them as you learn vocabulary about the supermarket in Spanish and answer the questions at the end of the video.

Grocery shopping is not my favorite activity, but you have to do it. So today I'm making it less boring by taking you with me to get the food I need for the month. Get ready because we're going to two places: the supermarket and the warehouse. I'll show you around every section of each place in Spanish and we'll see what we got at the end of the video.

When I listen to you, I feel very confident- as if I'm fluent! But then I watch Spanish TV, and I'm back to gringo.
Keep trying bro. I recommend watching the news and learning vocabulary in short lists. When you hear a word you've already learned, you'll learn the surrounding words naturally. An honest try at learning a new language is 1000 hours. Good luck.

@@susannarebera5975 Watch them 4 times. 1st time, use the English subtitles. 2nd time, use the Spanish subtitles, and stop to look at them when you need clarification. 3rd time, use the Spanish subtitles, but try to only watch and listen, and only look at the subtitles as necessary. 4th time, listen carefully - no subtitles. Takes a lot of time and work, for sure! But, as adults, language acquisition has to be intentional, not just absorbed.

I am an intermediate student of Spanish. Your speaking speed is perfect for me. I can understand it if I listen very carefully. Any faster and I probably could not follow it. And your diction is so clear! Each word is fully enunciated.
I find the first time I watch your new videos now I get around 10%-20% of the words and then when I watch them a second to third time I get around 50%-75%, you are helping improve so much! I listen to this video a lot. De hecho, I can listen to it without the Spanish subtitles and I understand 90% of all the words that you speak. I practice listening to your videos during my breaks, and to and from work. It is really tuning my ear. Muchas gracias.

You are my favorite teacher. I started learning Spanish on cinco de Mayo of this year. It is amazing how much I actually understood. The only question I missed was about the salt. Even though, I’ve wanted to learn for a long time, I just never got around to it. It sort of started by accident. I was driving on a long trip for work, as I often do. This was an eleven to 12 hour trip. Long trips can get boring, so I usually make a lot of phone calls and catch up with nearly everyone. Sometimes the cellphone signals drop. On this trip I downloaded “Audible” to listen to a book. The first book was free. I ended up downloading an audio book called “Learn Spanish with Paul Noble”. Part One is 6 hours and 46 minutes. Since then, I have been using UA-cam, Mango languages app, and Google Translate apps. I have been watching Galavision, Telemundo, and Univision. I’m hooked. I have learned so much, but have such a long way to go. I have subscribed to several “Learn Spanish Channels” like PROFE Spanish, Learn Spanish and Why Not Spanish. I have viewed many more. I can’t wait to get into a class somewhere, but really want to learn in an emersion course environment by taking a 4-6 weeks in country, possibly Colombia 🇨🇴, Guatemala 🇬🇹 or Ecuador 🇪🇨. If I chose Colombia what city would you recommend and why? Would you recommend splitting time between two cities with different dialects? Thank you for all the work you put into these videos. The test are a great addition. 😎

This was my first video of yours and it helped a lot. My reading and writing level is beginner to intermediate, but am beginning my listening skills. I set it to 0.75 speed and found I was able to keep up with most of what you were saying and understood most of it. Mucho gracias! I wouldn't say it is at an intermediate to advanced level.

The speed is perfect - not so fast that I cannot follow it (like some "machine gun" Spanish) but fast enough that it is a challenge. And your pronunciation is very clear. When I watch "Narcos" there is very little that I understand.
Thank you for providing the subtitles. I do as much as I can without them and then use them if I get "stuck" or to verify what I think I heard is what you actually said.

Muchas gracias. Bueno, no es que el español de Latinoamérica sea más fácil. Ten en cuenta que hablar articuladamente depende de cada persona. Yo he hablado así hace mucho tiempo pero en algunas situaciones, por ejemplo hablando con mi mamá o discutiendo, seguramente no sonaré tan articulada :) Todo es cuestión de costumbre. Seguro si aprendes a identificar las conecciones en las palabras de las personas que escuchas, vas a mejorar muchísimo. Sometime when I am out grocery shopping, someone asks for help. Normally its a Spanish only speaker. This is part of the reason why I am learning Spanish. I love to talk and I want to be able to help. I have just discovered your videos and will be watching them all..Muchas Gracias
