I met him back when he was in Blood Has Been Shed too. Pretty sure the band I was in played with them once here in my home city too. That was forever ago. I always heard rumors about a reunion... wishful thinking.
Howard's voice is one of the best to ever sing in the business. I've had luxury of seeing him live with Killswitch and it was worth ever single penny. Listen to this song with his vocals singled out. It'll send chills down your spine with just how good he is
The show I was at it was when Howard was born and a nurse dropped him. One of the parts I remember most from that show was the intro to darkness falls joke. That’s hilarious that others commented the same.
Howard Jones is renowned as one of the best Metal vocalist to ever live. His run with KSE will go down in history and be talked about when all of us metal heads get old. Just like our parents do with Dio vs Ozzy. If you know you know but the albums with Howard will forever make us emotional when we listen to them. It's just indescribable.
You gotta do more Killswitch man, they have super heavy songs but they manage to usually keep it catchy and melodic as well. Howard, who's the singer in this video, isn't in the band anymore, but they featured him on a track called The Signal Fire from their new album. Totally worth checking out as well, he and their current singer (who was also in the band before Howard joined them) were both in that song.
This era of KSE is one of my favorites. Always liked Howard’s voice over Jesse’s (original vocalist) but Jesse is back and Howard has moved on to another band. Glad you enjoyed the song.
Saw him live by accident, it was a band called Light the Torch. I took one look at the lead singer and said holy shit that’s Howard Jones, then I went buy everything he ever did. Yes he is a brother with some great pipes, man I love his voice.
Thank you for doing the live version of this! KSE is an amazing band! They started with another singer, then went to the brother you saw in this one (Howard Jones), but he left due to health concerns and they brought the original vocalist back in (Jesse Leach). They released a song on their newest album with both vocalists that's definitely worjy checking out - it's called signal fire.

Such a great song! This live performance rocks, and Howard Jones' vocals are as amazing as ever! I'm glad someone turned you onto this amazing song, and your reaction was priceless!
One of my favorite bands!!! I've seen them live probably 15 times are more, they are dope as hell! Please do more of their songs, you should check out the song In Due Time, the vocalist is the original lead singer Jesse Leach. He left the band after the album Alive Or Just Breathing due to depression while touring. That album got Killswitch a lot of recognition in the music industry. Howard Jones(brother 🙂) stepped in and also brought Justin Foley with him to play drums because Adam Dutkiewicz (backing vocals in video) wanted to play guitar. Howard propelled them into mainstream with his amazing vocal talent, he can scream, growl, and sing his ass off. After 3 albums with Killswitch, Howard left the band due to diabetes and depression while touring. You could tell that he wasn't into it during his last album with them. Killswitch was left without a lead singer, they actually had Phil Labonte from All That Remains step in for a while since they were good friends with them and Adam produced some of their records. Adam also produces all of the Killswitch albums if I'm not mistaken. Killswitch held tryouts for a singer and Jesse Leach auditioned and sounded better than his previous time in the band due to vocal training, he used to blowout his voice after doing shows when they were younger which affected their tour schedule. Killswitch has released 3 albums with Jesse and they are so awesome. Jesse writes his own lyrics and they are very emotional but usually convey a very positive message. Their is no bad blood between Howard and Jesse, they were on a track called Take This Oath together off of The End of Heartache album(Howard's first with KE), but the recordings for Jesse were done previously and not together with Howard. After listening to In Due Time you should checkout The Signal Fire by Killswitch. Howard and Jesse are both on that song and worked together creating it which allowed them to become really good friends. Fans were very touched seeing/hearing that song, watch it and you'll probably understand why 🙂. I had the pleasure of seeing them preform it live because Howard's current band Light The Torch toured with Killswitch Engage during the beginning of the Covid pandemic before everything got shut down. Ok, I'm done with the novel 😂 just some history of Killswitch, they are an awesome band and I do hope you check out more of them!!!
You should do a video to “The rose of sharyn” live at wacken also by Killswitch Engage. It’s a very powerful song he wrote for his mom after she passed away.
I've been to *a* *lot* of concerts, seeing many bands live, but I don't think I've ever heard one play THAT on point. Everything from Howard's vocals, Adam's background vocals, EVERYTHING was perfect.

Whether you prefer Howard or Jesse, you really can't go wrong and for the record, Jesse performs this song along with others from the Howard era well live too. Not the same voice, but that's perfectly fine.
One of the best songs ever! That man can sing and yes he is a Black man. He ROCKS!
“my last serenade” by them is good too...and yes, Howard Jones, the singer here, is a black guy
yay!!!! I love this song so much. such a great reaction as always.
My man, the fact that you got around to this gives me hope that you will yet someday get around to Body Count "No Lives Matter"', "Black Hoodie", "This Is Why We Ride", "Body Count". Love ya man !
I saw them when they headlined at Lollapalooza...I'd always loved Ice T, but man, Body Count brought the metal & I loved him even more.
The Winner's Lose
@@rodneyprill4618 not a bad tune, I have the album. I wish jamel would try them, for Pete's sake they are from South Central LA which is where he lives or near it?
Honestly not sure how he hasn’t checked out Body Count yet.
Would love be to see his reaction to "Cop Killer" but I believe the band has took down that song. Can't say why but they did
that crowd is just amazing man, i love when the crowd is that passionate
Awesome tune. Wasn't sure what to expect from a live version but it was well done.
This is one of my favorite songs..
I'm glad you're getting a chance to react to Killswitch Engage 🤘🤘🤘
This song came out in 2004; Killswitch Engage apparently came out in 1999, according to my sources..
This song always gives me goosebumps
Howard and Jessie both have their good qualities, but if I had to pick, it's Howard for me. This track is the all time fav.
Such a great song! This live performance rocks, and Howard Jones' vocals are as amazing as ever! I'm glad someone turned you onto this amazing song, and your reaction was priceless!
As soon as I saw killswitch, I knew some variation of "wait, is that man a brotha?!" was coming
We all did.
Yep...and he's one of the BADDEST Brothers out there! So glad you're getting to know them
Look for their cover of “Holy Diver” you will NOT be dissatisfied by its shear epic-ness
I respectfully disagree on this recommendation.
Jimi Hendrix, the Corey Glover fronted Living Colour, and many others readily come to mind with 'brothers doing rock'.
Great reaction, bro. Amazing band. They have a one real gems. Check out the entire albums of 'Engage'.
This band with Howard singing is still one of my favorite live bands ever. Insane energy
The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown - 'Fire'
LOVE this tune! So good of you to do it. Keep up the great reactions.
Love this band great review glad you did it
One of my favorite bands!!!
Dude in the Cape is crackin me up!
That's Adam D, he is sorta the mad genius behind the band.
Look up Adam d price is right
Seen them twice back in the day. My god it was epic!
Oh yes, you need to check out Sevendust-Black, Waffle, Face to Face, Lajon Witherspoon, lead singer has a nice voice and the band rocks!!
Such a damn solid band!
I enjoyed every moment of watching your reaction. Killswitch puts on such an amazing live show! Love their new and old music.
I judge a band who can deliver live. Killswitch is one at the top of the game.
Got to see them live on Columbus,oh..fantastic
You should do a video to “The rose of sharyn” live at wacken also by Killswitch Engage. It’s a very powerful song he wrote for his mom after she passed away.
Welcome to the KSE army, my dude. Proud to have you with us. Now react to The Signal Fire.
check out the “rose of sharyn” by them too
this is absolutely my favorite reaction video..."is that a brotha?" f#$king love it my guy!
Check out "What you do to me" or "Remission" by Straight Line Stitch featuring a black female lead vocalist
Love them! Got to see them open for Times of Grace in ATL (10 years ago or so) and they killed it.
I've been to *a* *lot* of concerts, seeing many bands live, but I don't think I've ever heard one play THAT on point. Everything from Howard's vocals, Adam's background vocals, EVERYTHING was perfect.
I like “This fire” by the same group these men are great and you should consider reacting to All That Remains.
We were at this show!! They filmed a DVD that night. It was so much fun! Love the Palladium. Great venue to see live music in.
You've gotta check out "Rose of Sharyn"...it's about the passing of his mom, super emotional but still heavy 🤘
Gotta say I love hearing someone's first reaction to this amazing song!!! Love Howard Jones 💘💘💘
My dude just discovered Howard Jones!
Bro, I bought this on DVD when Set This World Ablaze came out. This might be one of the most influential bands I've ever listened to for my musical tastes. Glad you've stumbled upon it too man. Good music is good music.
305 comments, certainly someone suggested "rose of sharyn."
thank you whoever made him watch this SPECIFIC live version. best live version out there !!!!
fixation on the darkness
That engulfs this world
"Is that a brother?" Hell yeah it is and I can without a doubt say music knows no color. Always did this for karaoke with a buddy of mine that could do the growling style. Who was also in fact a brother. Both my buddy and Killswitch's singer are amazing.
Killswitch engage is one of the greatest metal bands that is Howard Jones singing sadly hes no longer with Killswitch engage but they do have a great replacement singer Jesse leech
Howard WAS the replacement singer lol.
Thank you for this! You just brought me right back to highschool with plenty of good memories! These guys were a blast to see live back then! :)
Want to see another brother sing metal react to god forbid to the fallen hero
I subbed because you said "I love music, man" - that's all I needed to hear.
This Fire Burns was CM Punk's WWE theme song and their version of Holy Diver is in my opinion better than Ronnie James Dio
Blasphemy 🤣🤣
Better than Dio.? Nah man, you're crazy...lol
No. Nobody tops Dio on Holy Diver....but Howard certainly does it justice.
