    didn't seem that long ago when i first got into detailing properly, and buying my first snowfoam lance, a mitt and couple products, fast forward 4-5 years and im now doing paint corrections and building a unit, this epsidoe really brought back the love of detailing and why soo many of us got into and just the fun side to it, brilliant episode, thuroughly enjoyed this

      @@epicautomotivedetailing mate, when I first got into machine polishing, I had the detailing police (in certain groups) getting triggered over it lol I should do all the proper training and this and that bla bla bla, I literally only wanted advice at the time to practice on some old panels before doing my own cars 🤣🤣🤣 sometimes you just gotta get on with it, learn from your mistakes and have fun whilst doing it, but totally agree about it all going to serious, intend to find that attitude is a lot worse in the states (no offence USA guys 😅)

    this is why i hate working for a company that recruits valeters all over the uk, as ive been here that long now and ive worked my way up, im now the guy who trains all the rookies... and i swear, it frustrates me sooooo much, as a lot of these young kids are cocky/arrogant and think they know it all, so they still do it the way matt was doing it... but, you can tell matt was genuinely thrilled to learn.

    If the life expectancy for a detailer is 30 years then I will be 81 when I retire and wearing depends and pampers while cleaning out cars! You should have the wheel cleaner on spray and not stream to avoid the splash in the peepers. I have never washed a car in the rain and that is truly art to wash it in the rain. I noticed the gloves that were being worn and they are not water proof or insulated. Amazon has waterproof and insulated gloves you can buy in bulk. This is a great video a whopper and bloody good and very helpful with lots of information. Do you think Matt can be trusted to detail/Valet his car by himself next time? Matt's reaction to the snow foam the removal of the wax is priceless. He is like a kid in a candy store and shocked by the ease and results of cleaning and waxing his car. The car did look amazing and the TRIM was stellar and insane!

      its difficult. Previously I Was focused on being a detailer but as you become a content creator you have to adapt and change the way you look at things so I decided instead of being so serious id just keep it real and make content for the masses and not the few. Nothing wrong with cheap towels

  • @Simon-fr4ts
    @Simon-fr4ts 6 місяців тому +1

    I am from the old world of a garden hosepipe, bucket, fairly liquid, sponge and chamois leather. I really want to clean mine and my partners car myself and do a better job as we have cars that are not bangers and worth looking after, but the sheer outlay of equipment and chemicals to do even the basics as seen here is insane, not to mention the water cost and amount of time. It just does not seem worth it over here in the UK for your average person, especially as it's likely to rain within a week of you doing it. I am trying to go half way as I have invested in some wash mits and car shampoo. I would love a power washer, but they are bulky and expensive for a half decent one and we would struggle to find space to store one. I cannot afford to have them done professionally as the prices are ridiculous, so often end up driving through the IMO for and £8 wash!

      I would love to wash mine more often, but the weather over here doesn't really allow it (unless you have a nice garage, of course). So, I also only wash (myself) like 3 times a year. In the winter months, I just go to a wash box and spray it clean with high pressure once every couple of months.

    38!? I think the chemicals you use must have anti-aging properties! I always thought your 29/30!

      Whether your working on an old dog or a super car. Some of these old cars won't get the same careful treatment as say a Ferrari. If I'm called in to detail the bond cars for example (which I was lol) then obviously the whole process has to be on another level of carefulness
