Thanks for the tutorial Mark,I'm in the middle of kick drum now and that came in handy, even though I am a bit late to the party I've only just discovered your videos.
The Weiss compressor/limiter is great but the DKS-MK3 has everything that has and more so since I got the DKS-MK3 I haven't used the compressor/limiter.
@@heronislandstudio8054 I will be recording snare top + bottom, and I'll have 2 mics on hi hats - just trying to come up with a contingency in case they all cancel each other!
Thanks! No Unisum is significantly more versatile in almost every area. The only area where the Weiss can do more is the fact that the Weiss can do multiband and the Unisum can't. But the list of things Unisum can do that Weiss can't is much, much longer. With Unisum you can completely design the way the compressor works in a level of detail I've not seen in any other compressor.
@@heronislandstudio8054 Hey there. One last question cause i am considering buying it but one thing makes me a bit sceptical. Am i getting it right that the Compressor has no Highpass option in the Sc filter but the Ds1-Mk3 suite has one? Meaning that the version you are showing-testing here has no ability to simply apply a HP Sc filter for the detector circuit but only a LP or a Bandpass? Am asking cause this is critical if you want to work with bass heavy matterial
@@heronislandstudio8054 thanks but my bad. didnt define which one i mean. I meant ht eWeiss compressor you used. It has no Hp. Only BP the way i see it

Glad you found it useful.
Nice
What do you still think of this Weiss compressor/limiter after owning it for awhile? Do you still use it?

@@heronislandstudio8054 Thank you
why i have 181ms latency with weiss compressor Limiter?
Hi Mark, I'd love to know what you do about phase cancellation... Do you use any "phase analyzers"?
Do you mean on the top and bottom snare?

@@da_Fez I use Melda AutoAlign to phase align the top and bottom of the snare.
@@heronislandstudio8054 Thanks, I will explore using something like that.
Nice video as always Mark. So would you say that Unisum is not as versatile as this one?

@@saardean4481 Yes Unisum does have a high pass filter on the side chain.
