What kind of videos do you plan on making? Did this video give you any ideas?

I'm ridiculously knowledgeable on JRR Tolkien (LotR/Silmarillion). I've had some success making TikTok content doing random LotR facts and teaching people the Elvish language Sindarin.
I'm thinking maybe taking advantage of the short-form here on UA-cam. And livestreaming my Elvish translations and writing practice (since ppl could ask me to write literally anything).
Do you think there's a longer-form content option there?
I'm working on mostly content about Minecraft RTX, since it seems to have a surprisingly large following. I do want to move onto doing other things, since there is only so many videos you can make on that one topic.
I absolutely LOVE being a dad and playing video games, and I'd like to think I'm not half bad at either. I think it would be neat to do walkthrough/guides for games while mixing in some dad jokes and fatherly support. After finishing the walkthrough/guide I can even give my thoughts on the game and it's ESRB rating.

To a lot of people like myself, getting started is the hardest part. A video like this helping to overcome that is greatly appreciated and I love that burger metaphor at the end.

The thing about gaming, especially let's play, only works for big youtubers because they already got the "context"; people know them, know what to expect, etc
Imo a certain niche could work if there's a combination of "market/demand" + uniqueness, asking questions to yourself like what makes you different from the big youtubers of your niche? Why people should spend their time watching your content rather than big youtubers that their quality already known?
Sam kind of giving clarity about how to find your uniqueness in this video, giving me some thoughts.
I'm also still exploring my stuff, hopefully will "click" someday. Thanks for the video!

But I am generally also someone who searches for a ton of stuff to learn on UA-cam.
The mincraft shorts one gave me an idea how to cut my content down into shorts, really been looking into how to make this work for my content style, and I think I've got it! Big love Sam as always!

what if. I'm interested in a lot of things. like content, there is SO MANY different routes I want to take. for example, sometimes i want to make splatoon 2 stuff and talk about lore and gameplay and educate sometimes I want to talk about general games and topics in the gaming world(nintendo mostly) in a fast-paced way. and sometimes I just wanna play some fricken Minecraft. and I cannot stick to one. sometimes i want more comedy fast cuts and sometimes i want deep dives.. im always stuck
Then try them out for a few months or so! If they're not doing that well, change the content with other things that you like

I actually found your channel VERY recently when looking for some editing tips and tricks, in light of editing my second video for a joint-channel I'm part of!! Then, down the rabbit hole I went of thumbnail's, importance of audio, thinking about titles, etc. So far, Amazing channel, and VERY informative Sam!!
Lore daddy Byf really hit gold with his content, destiny is such an in depth game with a large presence on UA-cam but most players know very little about the lore, it’s well done and very entertaining and now he has a cult following because of it.

Great info on educational videos and I'm glad that some of my brain storms line up
While lets plays/funny moments content is nowhere near the best for discovery and growth, it's the content I feel I'm best at creating and will always be the foundation of the channel.
*However,* I tried something new with my latest short and I'm planning on making some more educational/review content on games and pouring my style, personality and humour into it until the audience feels physically sick. I think It would be a good way to hit more popular search rankings while also driving that new audience to my main content!

So, I've been doing unboxings of Video Games Monthly boxes, and following up with 1 credit plays of each retro game received.
I've also been leaning into repairs and modifications of older consoles (Getting better Video Quality out of them, or fixing things like dead save batteries)
I don't think the issue is content as much as it is, how to get people watching my content. In your words, Sam, is it completely random or are there things you can do to better get eyes on what you're creating??

Great video Sam! Personally, I did exactly what you suggested in your video. I took my passion and something that I am good at and threw it together to create videos! I am a musician but I am also a huge nerd. So I write original songs about my favorite TV Show and Movie Characters (Marvel, DC, GoT, AHS, Vikings etc.), produce them and upload them on UA-cam! It's been going pretty well so far and I absolutely love doing it! I probably will expand on those videos a little bit in the future by showing people HOW I write those songs and give a little bit more BTS to my songwriting process :)

hey Sam, you said now in Alpha Gaming video about the new update on OBS, can you do a tutorial about making the transition, but in windows? cause a lot of tutorials made by you about overlays and other stuff were made on mac OS, and you used an app that I don't have on windows, thanks! I’ve been thinking of pivoting my content slightly - as I’ve always trying to figure out a balance between writing, narrative design and video editing.
I think it seems to always be a balancing act that’s difficult to figure out...

i’m not passionate about anything in particular other then I can’t see myself not being a content creator n neither do i have something i’m good at other than doubting myself and failing at everything.
Then you have something everyone can relate to. You could either document your approach to that part of your character and how you deal with it day-to-day. Or you could go the comedy route, and ham it up for entertainment that everyone can can relate to and not feel so bad about that side of ourselves that isn’t an instagram success guru. You could be the anti-hero to hustle-culture :)

Idk good looking food yhay tastes good that is actually healthy for everyone specially for those who are depressed, in my opinion food is essential but that doesn't mean it doesn't have to look good, idk i am a small youtube so i dont have that big of a knowledge
Dear Sam. You are brilliant. I've watched exactly 1 video + 52 seconds of this one. I have one suggestion. Move your camera angle off center by 1 inch (or however many cm that is).
