I used your diagram to custom modify my buzzer to a chime on my 1984 Chevy K10. Worked like a gem. Chime works now when key left in ignition and also when lights are left on. Thx for the hard research
I think the chime in that truck is integrated into the gauges. You could get the same chime box I used and wire it to the appropriate wires if it can't be done through the gauges. I bought my dealer service manual on ebay.
Hi there could I pay you for this so I can put it on my 1991 Foxbody Mustang? The sound I'm curious if you can put on is the nice chime Ford has in the 2017-2020 vehicles they've produced. I'm not too experienced with soldering so seeing this makes me nervous I'll mess up in the process.
is there any way you can privide a labeled pinout of that relay? I cant find that exact relay on amazon with that pin setup. or can you label your wire colors as to what function they are on the relay? Like n/o or n/c. or DC+ and DC-, and common
How would you achieve this with a simpler relay? I have an old VW bus that uses a relay with only 2 spades on it, I'm guessing just a neg and pos, would it be a similar wiring?
@@GrimRepair Well it's referred to as a relay, so I don't know what the correct term would be. It's basically a glorified speaker, I guess, that just buzzes
@@p24p14 if it's just a speaker you would be able to just program the new speaker and wire it in. Use a voltmeter and see how many volts are going to it, when it would normally be energized. Let me know what you find.
@@GrimRepair It's a 12v, 1973 year - do you think there's a worry if i hook the speaker directly to the wiring for the buzzer it could overload it? I'm guessing its still 12v since its a direct wire without any sort of resistors or anything
I tried to upload my instagram to show my setup but it won’t let me do it. I did We Will Rock You by queen as my chime. BTW - is there any chance of updating your diagram to show how you would set up the seat belt? I would like my dash light to work. And my attempts to configure the power and ground in the buzzer box is not working. Would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, The link I put in the descriptions was the best place I found to order it from. I would check back later, the supply goes up and down normally. Right now things are crazy in the world. I have seen it on amazon , but the mark up is steep.
Links are in the description, part numbers are in the video for the relay. I am not the one selling the parts so I don't know about stock. I do know that the programable indicator is in and out of stock ofte, so if its out of stock keep checking back.
Your chime is in the gauges, so you would still need to wire this box in if I sent it to you. I dont have much free time, what do you think is a fair price?
You could get a positive from the head lights, you would have to figure out how to get a ground when the key is in the ignition. Then run the wiring needed, to a chime module.
This video tells you what you need, links are in the description. You will just have to figure out how to wire it into your car. What do you think is a fair price for one of these?
I’d pay you money for a custom door chime I mean c’mon that’s awesome... Build me a toto chime for a 2015 camaro ss and I’ll kick out $150 for fair labor and parts 👍
I can't sell you something with someone else's music on it. Also a 2015 camaro chime is likely in the gauges, and is signaled on by the bcm. So for this to work wiring would need to be done on your car. I can't send you something that will just plug right in.
If you’d do customs, let me know. I’ll send you my email. I have the same gm truck chime. Would like to do this but not really my skill set, but do want too replace that terrible buzzing line has. If so lmk, willing to pay what it’s worth to you.

Thanks, what song is your playing?
This is underrated video
Thanks I appreciate it, a lot of time went into making this thing.
Great idea. Would love one that played toto africa. I have a 98 c1500.
Dude. Awesome Video! I've got a 2000 F350 any idea where I can find the wiring diagram for the chime box?

if you mean the chime diagram I made its on my facebook at facebook.com/grimrepairs

I have the diagram from the thumbnail, on my Facebook.com/grimrepairs
Do show the demo in vehicle also. Regards.
I have 2 other videos demoing it. It's also in the vehicle in this one.
How would you achieve this with a simpler relay? I have an old VW bus that uses a relay with only 2 spades on it, I'm guessing just a neg and pos, would it be a similar wiring?
A relay would have more than 2 posts.

I don't know what year you are working on but if it's a 6v system this speaker won't work for you.

Ok cool. I have no update to solve the seat belt issue, if I do ill let you know.
Hi great video! been looking for that.
Do you know where can I find the pui speaker ? It says it's out of stock

I have updated the links in the description if you are still looking for the parts.
Would this work for a 2007 Lexus es350? If you have the knowledge at hand to answer
It could be wired into anything, it won't plug right in though.
Hey do you make custom chime boxes?
Not currently I show you how it's done.
I have an 04 Pontiac Grand Am GT, is everything listed that is needed currently in stock? And can i have all the links?

Hey what up bruh, how much would you charge to do this for my 2010 mustang GT?

Can you build me one for a Honda Civic ex 2005. I’ll pay you or can you tell me what I need I want one

I paid 100 bucks for mine and I think it's worth every penny. I got 3
How much would it be for you to do it for me
I could build it for $150 plus shipping, you would need to download your own audio to it.
I have a mustang 2011 can i do this?
The box from this video will not just plug in. If your car does not have a chime module, you would need to figure out how to wire this one in.
@@GrimRepair nice thanks for the info ill go ahead and check it out man
no video on connecting transistor to resistor? just magically appeared
You're right sorry its a long video, but it wasn't magic just solder.
Would you consider taking special orders for costumers ? Serious inquiry . Let me know
What do you think is a fair price?
Programmable indicator link doesn't work
It's working for me. The part number is API-4260-LW150-R and I bought it from onlinecomponents.com
All you had to do was take the power and ground from the buzzer to click a small relay on to click on ur timer circut
Are you talking about for the seatbelt?
I’d pay you money for a custom door chime I mean c’mon that’s awesome...

Thanks for the offer and thanks for watching. I may make a video on how to wire this into a car that it can't plug into, in the future.
Ah gotcha either way thanks man, I enjoyed video!
It can be done with just a simple mp3 player.
That thumbnail looks Pretty sus
Why is that, It's a wiring diagram?
I'd pay for a dixie chime for my 87 f150
Suburban???
Yep, this part was used in most gm vehicles for years.

It's not loud enough ryt? And sounds very mushy
