Thanks for all the hard work you've put in Ed, so inspiring to see you going up 🙏
This gives me hope but it's the joy of the process I find more valuable than the money. Thanks so much for this!👍👍
Thanks for this information! I'm looking to establish more of this kind of thing for my studio. :)
This is so motivating , thank you so much
pls look at ur dms i ask u an important question about this
Time to really grind man. I gotta get out this 50 hrs a week at a company I don't want to be at. I'm tryna put those 50 hrs a week in my studio.
@TriVos Ahren That’s exactly what I’m about to do, pulling my 401k and going back to a restaurant job on the weekends.
@@aaronbarber6238 yooooo same here man planning on leaving with my 401k and savings from them 60hr weeks to go back to my old retail part time job to hit school and cook shit up in my kitchen let the force be with us on our journey 🤟
@@ghost.7.7.7 Man, salute! Best of luck brother, 🤟 August 31st is my last day at that job. Time is flying.
@@ghost.7.7.7 You've got £400k already?! Yikes
@@JoshNunnyt nah i wish its 401k is just a benefit program lol
Ed is the only person I know that can say our beats suck in the nicest way possible.
unlike K Beazy lmao
its honor to be told I suck by the goat! Eds going to go so much further then where he is now and I feel like he doesn't even know it yet.
😂😂😂😂
But Ed actually tells you what's wrong, which surely helps
@@jenstenboom Exactly!
Great tips! For all of you producers who doubt themselves, keep grinding & believe in yourself. You will get there eventually. It just requires time & dedication. Good luck to y'all 🙌🏼
What’s the most important thing that helped you get over 100k subs?
@@kingdoge69 consistency & finding my niche
@@GRAVYBEATS I knew consistency is key, thanks for the reply. This isn’t my beat channel, but I have 175 subs, and I’m gonna start uploading every day. I usually post 3 times a week
For anybody else like me starting out, doesn’t making music feel like a new fun video game? It’s like guitar hero but I control the chart and I love it, but I will say to help with self doubt and just knowing if you’re heading the right direction, share your music with everybody. Ask them what they think, and don’t stop! I’m approaching the end of my first month of garage band and I’ve already learned almost the entire DAW before googling anything about it, which gives me hope I can learn more complex daws in the future
@@Bittamin you def can! I'm a beginner too and I'm learning fl studio. It's hard, but I'm getting there. Main problem is I don't have the money for things like midi keyboard, plugins etc. But jus keep grinding bro, you'll get there!
I love how humble you stay despite being so successful. Always an inspiration to me Ed!
I had a Skype consultation with him when he was under 5k subs, and it seems he’s stayed the same. Crazy to think how much he has grown in only 2 years, really inspiring stuff! I’ve had my channel for a year and I’m nowhere near him lol
Facts
I see the same comment ALL THE TIME .... HUMBLE THIS AND HUMBLE THAT .... I NEVER HEAR MFS TALK ABOUT THE PRODUCERS WHO BEEN BROKE AND HUMBLE WHILE MFS ARW PROFITING OFF THEIR SHIT..... STFU WITH THIS "HUMBLE" BS
Excellent info for folks who wanna turn this into a career.
yes indeed
Sssh
💯🔥
just dont
Indeed 🔥
Took me about 10 years making music and about 3 years of selling beats online to get where I am where I can comfortably work / do this from home. Good stuff man keep it up! To everyone else out there you can make this reality keep with it!
you’re able to do it just from youtube? or do you drive traffic elsewhere as well?
@@liamk9906 ofc not yt. He is getting 20 views and 19 are from him lol.
@@Monsizr lmao
Thanks for the inspiration dude.
The problem is most people don't have the drive to keep doing this with zero or close to zero return for months.
This was great to watch, I am in the middle of developing my sample/ loop business and have realized that my 35+ years of music making on and off stage is worth something, only if I do the work, and no amount of good business will substitue for a shotty product. Thank you Ed.
you have created such a genius platform and workflow for your brand. Your brand is so organized and consistent, I really love it.
This is nothing but the truth ED! Seriously! I had started and then stopped (WHY did I do that, lol) But coming back, being dedicated and focused it has been better and actually EASIER making good content that is valuable. Thanks so much for this Ed! Greatly appreciate you man!
Thank u sm for this man ❤️ as a growing producer who started yt'ing about a month ago it's difficult to get views but this vid has definitely given some pointers
Great tips! I'm just starting out with my fl studios and my trusty AKAI mini play. You're videos have definitely helped. Thank you!
I’m subbed, because this video was great. That quick little outro was hilarious and I can tell you put a lot a work into dialing in what your UA-cam video should look like. I’m here to support you. Keep it up
I’m complete garbage at production, but I have so much fun messing around with different sounds and combinations of sounds. Plan on growing my skill to see where it takes me years down the line.
then you just might be beteer5suited to make your own sound and sample packs. keep going.
Such an inspiration ed. you grew your youtube channel to 100k pretty fast it seems but very well deserved 🙌🏼
💯
I appreciate how transparent you are with your money, it just helps us get a real and clear picture
Agreed
ikr
Amazing video! One thing I wanna add to this. Dont worry about trying to just profit from music out of the gate. Really make sure you love this process so you can be in the game and sustain so when you do make money the drive is still there. Dont go after money but provide value and community and add the product and beats you wanna sell once you've put in many hours over time!
True. Gotta love what you do. If that is not the case it's smarter to look for work in a different field. I guess that's sort of what you should be aiming for anywhere but it's absolutely crucial when doing creative work.
Your advice is always so helpful. Thanks for making stuff like this!
Loved the vid, Ed! As a Long time hobbyist producer I recently decided to start trying to monetize my hobby and this video is just what I needed. Thanks for the helpful tips!
Great job breaking down everything its not as simple as people make it seem
Keep up the great work G 💯
it took me a year and half or so to get monetize on UA-cam drooping vids on Mixing and Mastering Beats, Vocals Etc
alot of crappy videos lol but your right the more consistent you become the better you get
You kno what's interesting most youtube producer channels Spew out the same content over & over but with a good personality & good presentation it never feels OLD, ED is definatley one such youtuber always a cool vibe keep it up Ed
Appreciate the transparency, man. Really helpful.
Bro you are the man.. Thanks for the break down and I'll be taking your advice on what I'm trying to do and get where I want to be.. I know it's not easy but from the looks of it its worth it..keep making then bangers.. 🔥🔥🔥🤘👊💯
Really inspiring to see how much you’ve grown in such a small period of time! I remember we had a skype consultation just 2 years ago and you were at 5k subs. You inspired me to start my channel, but I’m nowhere near your level of success despite having done this for a year already! Hope to get here one day.
💯
Actually very helpful! I'm thinking about starting a channel and already sold my first beats couple weeks ago, so I find the video very inspirational :D
Praise UA-cam algorithms for showing me your video - subscribed!
Thanks broski, you gave me the motivation to continue uploading and chase my dream.
This helps to give so much context. I think a lot of people, myself included, kind of assume its an all or nothing game and forget it just just happen. Thank you for the content!
Love the fact you get to the points without talking about irrelevant stuff in between 👍
love this
I’m confident this will help me out a lot. Thank you, Bro!
Just letting you know this made me subscribe, as this is the exact thing I needed to hear. Thank you so so much for this. ❤️❤️❤️
Ed is such an inspiring individual. Thanks for all the knowledge
Thanks for being one of the few people, providing some quality info.
Was expecting another you-too-can-make-millions-on-youtube video, and thankfully this video was not that. Great advice and real honesty around the effort and ultimately what kind of $$ you might be able to make if you put in the sweat-equity. Thanks much. Gave you the thumbs up (not sure why everyone doesn't do that) and subscribing.
This is great info. It took me a long time to crack that first 100 subscribers on UA-cam, 1000 feels pretty tough but just keep going, don't get discouraged and don't give up!
Thank you... & yes it takes so much to be where you wanna be in anything.
brooo this is pure gold!! thanks a lot, missing your videos!
Get the feeling you’re real, and video’s like this (especially from you) give me a lot motivation!🙌🏼 also thanks for the vid about you graduating music school in america and finding ways to make a career etc etc, that was one like those!👏🏻
He’s definitely motivational especially seeing his growth over time 💯
Hi Ed! Awesome tips and lots of value!!! Thanks so much for sharing.
All the best! :)
Ive been with you since 11k subs. Keep going. This is crazy
Great video: the concept is great, and the info is very valuable. Thanks!
Great insights and motiviation for producers starting out to start living from their passion!
I chuckled when you said this would involve frustration. Love that!
That is absolutely incredible! Nice work and thanks for sharing the info. I make a living with music as well. I'm looking to boost my online income and this video was timely.
Cool video, thanks for sharing your experience bro 😎
😎 swag
Ngl I didn't expect much from the video title (algo flushed it into my tl) , luckily I was proven wrong. Great insight from a very sympathetic humble dude. Thanks, subbed.
Just started monetization on my channel few months back and been making content for over 7 years - though not regularly! Spot on with all the points!
Thank you soo much for this Ed! Really helpful atleast in triggering artists with ways to make money through music. By the way, if you require any violin sample or tracks for any specific project, would love to work with you. Thank you again ❤️🙏
Brah! U r a 🐐. Excellent! U actually give value to my time spent watching u. 🔥🔥⛽⛽
Such an honest breakdown. Thank you so much.
Thanks for making a video on this that is actually helpful and factual and not complete click bait nonsense! New Sub on the strength of this vid!
Thanks for the great advice like usual Ed!
Thanks for being real About this Topic Man, Great Video Bro.
Great video man, thanks for The transparency
the best energy on youtube...thanks for your content bro!
Gracias Amigo 🙏🏼 Great info 👍🏼
Good advice, thank you for sharing!
Wow! Thanks for this honest and direct answer. Very helpfull!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with your fans and really help us, all the best Mr
Solid advice. I’m in the beginning phase of my journey to become a producer right now but when I make it I’ll revisit this video again and shout y’all out.
same, good luck to you
whats your soundcloud bro? I'll give you a follow
Thanks for sharing Ed !
I've watched at least 10 videos like this
BUT
this one's got the real and realistic information
I made 5 sales after about 8 months, some of the beats that sold I thought weren’t that dope, I mean they were decent but not my best lol so when you say your beats need to be top class, that’s not 100% true, because music taste is subjective. You might think your beat is trash, but upload it anyway and someone out there is eventually going to like it. Plus, when you get enough subscribers, your less dope beats will still sale just because they’re made by you, so just by having clout on UA-cam will trick people into thinking the beat is dope when sometimes it’s not lmao
@Lucifer 4 of them were for $20 and the 5th sold for $120. The 4 were mp3 files only, and the 5th was mp3, wav, and stems, it was an unlimited lease, and I charge $120 for that lease.
What do you use to sell them?
@@dwellerinblack7816 on beatstars
@Lucifer nice, yeah bro you should start selling if you’re getting a lot of traction. Make some money on the side and maybe even make it a full time business. What’s your SoundCloud if you don’t mind me asking?
@@kingdoge69 Thanks fam
This video was really helpful... great work big man 💯😍
Thanks for this Ed!
Thanks for the insight! I want to start YT tutorials, working on listing out content. But right now I try to push some side playlists of simple tunes for people to use copyright free, and I do mixdowns. In my case I suck with sound design, I’m more based around musicality so I’m wondering how making midi packs would fare for things like lead melodies, chord progs etc for different moods and styles.
This was really helpful Ed thank you for this!
Thank you for making this!
Appreciate your art and knowledge my friend !
Excellent video & information! Thank you, brother!
Great info! Thanks for posting!
This is not a passive source, but the way I make a living out of music is recording artists on my studio. You don’t need any crazy equipment (in fact I record with a $300 mic), but you will definitely need a really quiet space, and most likely a commercial space, not sure how seriously would people take you if you record at home. I’m able to charge $40/hr and my clients pay without issue because of the quality I offer, and also because recording studios are usually much more expensive.
That's cool, are you willing to talk to me about this on discord?
Times are changing. A lot of home recording studios today can do what commercial studios do. I’m very well equipped here at my home to make a full LPs sounding amazing.
@@kingo5940 sorry for the late reply . For sure ! But I'm kind of a noob on discord so not sure if you gotta send me an invite or how do we get started
@@jlebreton for sure , not that you can't squeeze some extra quality out of analog gear but the price to performance cost difference has gotten so small that I don't think it's worth it unless you can comfortably afford it
@@thirdtribestudio you can just go to add friends and type in: Kingo#1027 or Kingo #1027 (idk if it works with or without a space)
Sweet vibes, great info 🤙🏼 thanks!
Slowly getting getting there. Thanks for the inspiration brotha. “Frustration” you’re not lying lol
Mr R&B 🔥🔥
@@shebanggbeatz 😬
Good info. I’m baffled you’re producing on such a low budget setup if making that much money but kudos to you for spending your time making music rather than hunting for gear!
These are incredible insights. Shout out to all the musicians out there getting after it!
Such an inspiration 💕 thanks Ed ♥️
Great info thanks for sharing!
LOVE your definition of Passive Income
I agree with all your points. Patience is key for sure and definitely utilized "paying yourself first" meaning stash cash away and invest in yourself. Like using money to help promote your music.
I have busted butt getting over 1k subs here now im just being patient on the 4k hours watched. But ready to start that monetized process.
What are your thoughts on promoting on Soundcloud?
Great overview and realistic outlook.
he said "a lot of frustration" then he smile. man you dope bruuuh
Wow! Thank you so much for that information and also $ insights
This was great! Thank you so much
Great info! Thank you.
Can't wait to utilize my Music computing producing station!
Great video - thanks so much!
Great tips! Sync placements is another way
VERY ON-POINT...STR888...KEEP IT UP!.
Thanks for the knowledge!
Hey Ed could you do a video about how to record/start a music producing channel? And how to record / your process?
Thank you so much for sharing my man
Awesome advice. Good to hear it from someone with experience.
Very useful information!!
I love this. Thank you
Quality content. Thank you. 👑
Alot of value in this one well done!
I’m 50 seconds into the video and I’m super glad you prefaced by saying this is going to be a lot of hard work. That’s exactly what I want to hear, not some bullshit like “this is super easy and can happen really fast for you with a minimum investment of $x!”
I like it how you explain " Passive Income".
These are game-changing tips. Thanks, Chris Lord-Alge!🙌
thanks for making this video! imma work harder
