It's crazy how easily you can predict storylines. I just finished the 5.0 Archon Quest and it's like you stole the script from Hoyo headquarters lmao. Excited to see how your theories develop!
Really good video as always! Also I would like to point out that Natlanians haven't left their nation in a very long time, and at a certain point in time Polynesians also stopped traveling for an unknown reason (it was the whole plot behind Moana, which comes from a real event). During Simulanka the protagonists keep trying to find a way to leave this world, and the solution was "you could do it all along, who told you you couldn't ?", there's also a quest about a NPC being afraid of leaving, because traveling will eventually makes you evolve and you will change, and change is always scary. This concept of growing and learning through traveling always has been a recurrent theme in Genshin, as the MC is literally called "The Traveler", and at the end of the Natlan's chapter Natlanians might start traveling again, which will lead to a big change for its inhabitant somehow.
@CosmicET00 I was pretty much wrong as they actually couldn't leave Natlan the way they wanted and were physically stuck there. But it was quite easy to guess that they could leave the nation at the end cuz it's Genshin and they need to find excuses to make characters move for events
I 100% agree on the idea of using the ball game or competition to harvest will. I think it's like harvesting emotions to ignite a fire, both physically and metaphorically. This is why Mavuika says that no spark will go unnoticed.
(Sorry about that essay of a reply, but your wording made the mind gears turn a lot, and I thought you could go further into your idea so I tried to do it myself, I jope it's not bothering you or anything) I mean, at least since Inazuma, the person or people in authority harvested a different concept each time. Inazuma had Raiden taking the Visions and their holders lost, from what I remember of it, perseverance. Sumeru had the Sages harvesting knowledge and dreams. Though it didn't result in a somewhat decrease of kindness in Sumeru City, so what I'm imagining now loses in credibility, I can't not admit it. Though one could say that every person who tried to supervise the Akasha did so without kindness, so idk. Focalors harvested the people's faith in justice, and people at trials defend the integrity of either their defense or their accusations, and so their integrity to society. And once the waters around the Fortress washed the guilty's transgressions, they gain new integrity in the pocket society of the Fortress. So Natlan and Mavuika's will harvest (will being akin to pure determination, determination that could be applied to different situation and become perseverance, kindness, integrity, patience and so on, like the light of flames could be decomposed into multiple lights and colors) wouldn't be to be considered like an idea, but already like a fact. Also, did I not so discreetly use some Undertale symbolism? Yes, I did, and I know it's nowhere near a 1:1 situation, because Geo could fit both yellow and orange volor-wise, and cyan has 2 candidates. But if we try to guess what is going to happen in Sneznahya through that lens, I'm already betting that the Tsaritsa will also be harvesting some concept out of her people. To be exact, their will to wait for her plans to come to fruition. Patience to be exact. Which would fit with how the Harbringers behaved: Signora didn't push the Knights of Favonius to the point of acting, only to give a sense of urgency, to make the Archon go out of hiding just long enough. Childe made a very long operation of making those entry paper things to wake Osial when he could have rushed to the Exuvia directly. Scaramouche didn't directly confront the Shogun but instead fueled the war to make her ressources be spent. Dottore is all about mind games, of course he waited. Arlecchino is the exception, because she wouldn't hesitate to confront and potentially kill the Tsaritsa, which, based. And if Ashikai is right, then Capitano is waiting for the time the Gnosis would recognize him as worthy. And now that I think about it, the idea of harvesting determination to fuel the fire could be transcribed for Cryo as waiting could be seen as being still in place, like frozen in ice, conserved to be revitalized later. Maybe the Tsaritsa is trapped somewhere (maybe in he rown ice thzt she could not control the strength of, like Elsa in Frozen), but can still communicate with others, and the goal of assembling the Gnoses would be to help freeing her, on top of reviving Nibelung.
Hear me out... I had a thought about the travelers sibling and "names". Since none of the characters know our name in game, our story is not yet defined. Thats how we as the player, have the ability to write our own story. We even have the repetitive pattern with our sibling, them having helped people all around Teyvat before us. The main difference however. Dain knows our sibling's name, and probably many others as well. Their fate it already complete, thats how their story is in the Irminsul tree. Whats also interesting is, we're never truly given names in the story either, but roles as you mentioned. Captian of Swordfish 2, The first Sage of Buer, "Sage" and "Captian". What is also strange is how our character choses to hide their true identity (maybe subconsciously), using the name we input at the start, when picking the character.
@@s_zilvi_ it's something that just popped out so i have no idea where i'm going with it but i remembered that narz world quests explore the fictional story theme and "roles" in a children's rp game, and if i remember correctly ann as a protagonist had to "finish" the story
I'm foreshadowing that a lot of what Ashikai says here will actually happen in the game and all of us will be shocked and surprised about it. Hehehe... 😊
On the topic of sports tournaments, I'm from New Zealand. Our country is very deeply (unhealthily) obsessed with rugby. Now back when it was warring Māori tribes, before and after colonisation, Māori warriors would perform a ritualistic dance called the "haka". We don't have wars any more here (touch wood, world is going to shit after all) but now whenever we play sports, our sports teams do the haka, as a show of respect...and intimidation. There's a lot of videos showing it, especially in rugby, some countries have even demanded that we stop doing it because it makes their players intimidated. I don't really blame them 😅 Our rugby teams are known for being the best in the world and we're talking 15 enormous guys performing a war dance, yelling, showing the whites of their eyes. It's pretty full on. Every New Zealand kid learns how to do the haka. You should take a look because I think it adds more weight to the "sports = war" argument, which I absolutely agree with. Plus it's just really cool to watch. Also Māori have a Māui legend where he tamed the sun with his brothers. The sun would fly too fast across the sky. So they laid a net and basically beat the sun up until it promised to go slower 😅 Battered and bruised, the sun then proceeded to move much slower across the sky. I was reminded of that when you mentioned the Native American myth. I don't know many Native American myths, so I was surprised that the idea that the sun sucked and needed to be hunted down is vaguely similar to the Māui myth. I'm interested in seeing if there's more overlaps with Native American myths and Māori myths. I've heard of the Mahuika myth, of course. It would be interesting if Capitano is the Hand constellation, because of Mahuika's association with fingers and hands. Māui tricks her into giving her fingernails, which was the source of fire. And her children are named after the five fingers of the hand in different regional dialects. If Capitano is the Hand, then there's a possibility that he's deeply connected to Mavuika in some way
This is really interesting! Thank you for this information! I always love Ashikai's video because somehow I will learn something new about different culture. This is really fascinating. P.S I watch the clip and felt the immense terror. I think the theory sports = war is not that far-fetched.
Seriously, people are intimidated by these dances? The situation of these dances seems so out of place to me that it makes me laugh. Let it be known that I say this in good faith, all people must keep their traditions alive.
@@brago900 Its probably born from confusion. You see a bunch of big ass men suddenly start dancing and making noises you'd be weirded out too, seeing a war dance in a sports match seems out of place lmao
Scaramouche previous "names" been titles instead of names is interesting beacause Ahau K'uhul (the alebrije-like lizard with Kinich) is also not a name but a Maya title, that could be translated to "One who connects humanity with the gods" 🧐 Also, some little corrections. Kinich is not Aztec its Maya. And also, its preferable to use the name Mexica instead of Aztec. There's many reasons to it, but in short, Mexica is how they called themselves, and Aztec refers to a very specific time period of Mexica origin mythos.
Chasca is Andean Kachina is Hopi Mualani is Hawaiian Mavuika is Maori Iansan is Yoruba Oloron is Yoruba Il Capitano is ?? Kinich is Mexica Xilonen is a mixed with Brazil
Actually the yoruba religious entities are very well known and still revered in Brazil, because of our long sad history with slavery. African people that were brought here left huge cultural contributions. About 2% of the Brazilian population follow religious traditions originated in Africa. I was hyped from Natlan from the moment I’ve heard the name Iansan. She is actually know as the deity of storms and represents a lot of female strengh and power
Anyone else noticed the recurring theme of each region has the ruling of a nation being ceded to the people, and/or connecting the people to their Archon, for better or worse? Monstadt Has Venti explaining the reason he doesn't get involved often in the affairs of humans except to soothe them Liyue has Morax abdictating rulership to the people as he feels it's their time to decide their own fate. Inazuma has oppression by the Archons puppet removed giving ambition back to the people and helping Ei connect with them. Sumeru is about re connecting the people back to Buer/Nahida as she in turn learns about and reconnects with them. Fontaine has Furina become a part of her people finally and Neuvilette literally making Fontanians actual people
If the linkage between anemo and pyro and their connection to death and rebirth come to pass then that suggests the narrative could form a sort of closed circle between Mondstadt and Natlan before heading into the story’s climax. Which kind of matches the tone of the latest Dain quest which felt like both an end and a new beginning suggesting the tension is really going to start to ramp up.
Tbh, I wouldn't be surprised, after Chenyu Vale. Like, you don't respect your end of a contract? You will face justice instead. Much like you die, you get reborn. I wouldn't be surprised if Mondstadt gets a map extension there. Though, to say if the continent is the only one and that it circles back on itself around the planet and that Natlan and Mondstadt are geographically directly connected would be a stretch imo. But yeah, I bet too that there will be a connection.
also with names as roles, i immediately thought of how the traveler twins (whichever the player is playing as) pick a new name when they arrive on Teyvat. But it's almost like a title because it's not their real name, they're still Aether and Lumine when they speak to each other. It could just be for ease of voice acting but it felt like a deliberate way they've separated their "role" in Teyvat from their actual name
I wonder how they would voice act any random name a player invents at the beginning of the game. You could even make up a string of letters unpronouncable for humans.. so they had to come up with an idea to bypass this problem by just calling them "Traveler".. and rendering the chosen names irrelevant to the fate-plot as lowkey hinted in the post-Simulanka-Kaveh-quest.
I think Natlan might finally reveal that Teyvat is a simulation of some kind. We’ve been talking about things similar to this since Inazuma. Inazuma and The Chasm quests talk about time paradoxes (like Makoto planting the Sakura tree) Sumeru is about dreams and time loops and messing up with History Fontaine is about everything being a big act, a play
To be fair, most players forget Genshin is one of the narratives within the Honkaiverse, which holds repeating concepts; dreams, samsara, memories etc. Based on Simulanka story, it's assumed Genshin's narratives parallel more towards Honkai part 1.5 and 2, and Star Rail Penacony arc.
DOTTORE MENTION 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️ talking about the harbingers playing “roles” reminds me of how zandik laughed upon receiving the title “il dottore”. makes more sense he’s laughing at a role he plays rather than a name
this is my first time -since I started playing genshin last year- that I’m caught up with the archon quests before a new chapter begins. So I’ve been diving into all the theory videos and it’s been so much fun. I really cant wait to see what the story actually ends up revealing
Ok when anemo was associated with death it gave me a few *ideas* Cryo - prevention of death of the body (cryopreservation) Pyro - prevention of death of the mind (eternal flame) Electro - prevention of the death of the spirit through time (raiden story quest) Hydro - prevention of death through fate (fontaine archon quest) all these elements love SWIRL REACTIONS Anemo - element of spirits (venti story quest) NOTICE HOW THE SWIRL ELEMENTS ARE LINKED TO PREVENTING DEATH? (fun silly idea i had)
there's one minor thing that i think is relevant that wasn't mentioned here. when celestia/the heavenly principles arrived to teyvat, there were only dragons, no humans. one of the reasons for starting the war against the dragon sovereigns then was because HP wanted to turn teyvat into a world for humans. this makes me think that the world of the dragon sovereigns was incompatible with human life. this parallels how mini durin's existence was incompatible with life in simulanka, not just because of his size but because he converted everything he touched into base materials--base elements, one might say. the end result in simulanka is that in order for dragons to coexist with others, they need to alter their forms to become compatible with human life--which ALSO parallels everything neuvillette says about how much time he has spent understanding humans. so maybe, if the dragon soverigns are to return and to assist in overthrowing celestia, they would need to do so in a way that doesn't destroy all the human life around them. the ending goal and message of the main story quest in simulanka was one of coexistence--so what if the final goal of the abyss twin, the tsaritsa, and potentially mavuika as well, is to resurrect the dragon sovereigns along the same lines as neuvillette and mini durin--granting them bodies that would be able to thrive in the current teyvat without exterminating all of humanity. then humanity, the dragons and maybe the archons as well could take on celestia.
More name foreshadowing: the chat we (never) had with sibling during Bedtime Story. Sibling calls us by our given name and we comment that they’re the only one who calls us that.
Can I also point out that Neuvillette isn't his given name but his surname? No one actually knows his real name. I think it's pretty important that we don't know his name.
His name is Leviathan, that is already revealed in-game and it’s also his constellation. All elemental dragons are probably named after dragons from the culture they’re based on, like Apep.
@@amouramarie Educated guess, all dragons are named like that. "Neuvillette" is probably just the name he came up with to live among humans that he presents as being his surname to draw a line.
Giving a name is a big trope in some anime, especially in the Isekai genres like That One Time I Was Reincarnated as a Slime and Tsuki Michi. Creatures (non-humans or demi-humans) that are given a name by the ruler/person in power gain a lot power and even tend to evolve or level up. It also binds them to the ruler/person in power forever as a type of servant or attendant.
And the fact that Rimuri litteraly looks like Veldana the creator of Tensura make the whole thing even more interresting. Also didnt Romuru litteraly evolve into Veldana in the light novel ?
@@Alessietto_03people in África and south América were not savages that solved every dispute in war, as Ashikai points out in this video they used games and competitions as a proxy for war, which fits everything we've seen about natlan so far
Also one thing to note. Sports instead of war might not have been a thing always. But yeah part of me is glad is not so like literal war because that could come across as barbarian, and for multiple reasons I didn’t want that to be the perception both in and out of game for Natlan. I was super glad when they straight up had an NPC telling us theyre not barbarians
i did a project on the mayans for my college work so i have a something to add !! different sources say different things about what happens to the winners/losers of pok a tok (mayan ball game), some of them say that they sacrifice the losers but one source i read said that the winners's prize is to be decapitated and to move onto the afterlife and be closer to the gods
What if both the winners and losers of the mayan were sacrificed for different reasons? To me anyone having that kinda fate for losing a ball game is awful! But the truth could be a middle ground in which depending on circumstances all the accounts could be true to various degrees.
There is a different way in which I noticed things and I didn't know any American myths to confirm them but this was all I learnt from the main quest of simulanka: 1. Simulanka technically should mean "Simulation of an Lanka" where Lanka means islands. Reminds me of our teapot islands and Teyvat itself in general. So we are living in a simulation/dream of the heavenly principles/Sustainer? Figures out why we don't see the heavenly principles anywhere, maybe because they are sleeping, yk the deathly sleep you see in Aurora. And how do you forge your fate out of what the Sustainer has blessed you with? Only by fighting her tooth and nail to death. Which also foreshadows the Pyro Archon's greatest sacrifice waiting up ahead, to forge into a weapon most probably to cut through the simulation/fake sky. 2. There was a forest, a city and a mine impacted by the dragon. Where it could be foreshadowing the awakening of Durin as suspected by Albedo in the end of it and having him trip over Sumeru, Fontaine all the way to Natlan. We still have a scene where the doctor was in front of a burning tree remember? That's not over yet. 3. Durin is most likely brought back to life by the Abyss loom of fate. 4. Natlan characters are fighting alongside their dragons companions. This time, after 500 years, it's different. No primodial one will fight for humans against his dragons but the dragons and the humans will fight for their own fates. It's like the soldiers with different opinions deciding to choose their own fate over the protection the goddess had offered them. Also explains why Xbalanque introduced Neuvi in a very...war intended tone. 5. Navia's Spina will probably be the one guarding Fontaine with the Marechaussee phantom and Fortress if Neuvillette has to fight in the war/tournament. 6. The wanderer and the traveller may be the weapon Nahida prepared to defend her own people in case war because you know that she has to keep the irminsul safe no matter what, she is not physically capable of fighting a war either yet. 7. The broken sea looks like we'll finally get a glimpse of current state of khandriah. 8. I think we will witness a godly change in paimon this time. I believe she is the moon that bought a traveller back to his friends. In this case, would be dainslef who lost his dear friend, the Abyss twin. That was way too many things to talk about 😂 but it hope it helps our delusions tho
I have returned to rewatch some videos to see how right you were, and wow. Once more you nailed most of the big ideas. Great job Ashikai, can't wait to see you blow it out of the water when you make that video about 5.1
This theory somehow accurate. cuz in natlan the wayob select the hereos by giving them a name or a title. and mavuika likes to create a name for traveler to be a hero of natlan too
20:34 I did some research for a class once about the literary significance of wind and found that wind was very closely connected with the spirit or the soul, the word pneuma meant air and spirit and in hebrew the word rauch meant breath and mind/ spirit
in Latin there's a word "animā" which means breath but it also means life force or spirit. And in Ireland, there was a folk belief that leaving a west-facing window open at night while you slept would invite the evil West Winds that run across the earth through your window to take you away with them (kill you in your sleep). Very good point about the literary and cultural significance of wind
that’s interesting… in danish we use the word “ånd” (kinda pronounced like the “un” in words like “understand” or “under”). “At ånde”, means to breathe and “en ånd” means “a spirit/ghost”. Something to note is that “at ånde” usually refers to letting out a breath rather than breathing in air. I think that might be why we call a ghost/spirit an “ånd”. It describes a spirit that left with someone’s very last breathing out. We believe that’s how the soul leaves the body. btw “at ånde (to breathe out)” and “en ånd (a spirit)” is the same word in both instances, one is just used as a verb and one as a noun
this impressed me. you just laid out your theory so well. i have always had trouble understanding genshin lore and such because of how deep and culturally inspired it can be.
I realised that the ink drying up is directly telling us why we don’t have a Pyro traveller In the newest archon quest the Pyro archon used her power to keep the flame going because there was no more Pyro power left it’s drying up
26:08 If it's true that Ororon is named after a more obscure Maori deity Orongo and not the Yoruba deity Olorun, that would explain the discrepancy surrounding his name's spelling and why it lead to people immediately thinking the latter due to their similarities. Perhaps Olorun was just a red herring.
And maybe it could stop at least some people from using him in the whitewashing allegations. *said sarcastically* Not that the movement was dying by itself anyway
^^^ yeah this was clarified multiple times that based on the other languages of the game Olorun is the most accurate version of his name and it’s only ororon in English, so I’m not so inclined to believe it’s the other gods that were brought up
@@clemente3966 Even if Ororon is not based of Olorun he would still be white washed as the people of the culture in which his name is taking inspiration from is not reflected in his design as stated similarly with Mavuika and many characters in natlan
@@mattiastelister833 Ah, I see. I don't frequent the Genshin Wiki much, so after a quick check, Olorun does appear to be the more accurate reference of his name in other languages according to his page, and no direct references to Orongo were made aside from the suffix "oro" possibly referencing the Maori meaning "to resound, to echo, to resonate".
I am honestly mindblown by the sheer amount of research that went into analyzing Faroubert's name. This is the level of complexity of references I'd aspire to achieve as a writer. Also, I find it curious that the Pyro Hypostasis is codenamed "Ayin", which is the Hebrew letter meaning "eyes" specifically, and Mavuika pointedly tells the viewer to close their eyes and feel. I find it especially interesting given that one time, we are told that only what we've seen is true (Inversion of Genesis), then we observe how a future as seen by gods can be staged for an unexpected finale (Fontaine Archon Quest); and then in Simulanka when we rewind time in Text's Coda quest and observe the past, we're actually witnessing a scene with missing parts and only thanks to the intuition of our companion and some cross-examination we're able to figure out what _really_ happened.
Huh! Yeah, the Detective was able to commit the crime because he knew where the gods' gaze does not fall, outside of the observable area of the time rewind power.
you know based on the complicated nature of natlan’s worldbuilding stuff it would be easy to think that most of the beats of the story we’ve seen at time of writing (a few days short of 5.3) would be impossible to predict. but uh. holy christ this is probably as close as anyone could have gotten. offhandedly suggesting that ororon is based on an agricultural deity made my jaw drop. ash be honest are you actually a genshin writer
In the new trailer Mavuika told Cap that his motive to get the gnosis seems to be more than the Tsaritsa's plan. So you may be right about him resurrecting his twin brother.
I feel a Venti return is upon us... Also, seeing those angelic like beings from one of the teasers makes me wonder if Columbina will be a player in Natlan. This is both terrifying and exciting, especially from what we know about her personality.
I mean, each region had the Archons being rerun. Venti and Zhongli in .0 and .1, the current Archon of each region in .2, Raiden in .3, and Nahida got her place in .4. I'm betting that Mavuika will be in .6 after Natlan, and the Tsaritsa in .7 during a Kahenrian chapter, since Furina would be in the .5 update.
i 100% agree with your examination of simulanka but i got an entirely different sort of prediction out of its storyline - namely the parts about how simulanka's fate is meant to be a replicated microcosm of the rest of teyvat at large. a dragon knocking stars (specifically stars that are physical objects, hanging in the sky) out of the sky made me wonder what might happen if something similar happened in teyvat. a dragon knocking people's irminsul fruit constellations out of the sky, either on purpose or on accident, in order to attempt to forestall or defy their fates. i think its also really interesting how people's fates in metropole were predetermined by the godess of fate, especially about how they were free to live their lives how they chose but certain events were unchangable and if they got "off track", that they were forced back in line or put in stasis until their fate could be fixed by an external power. theres also the part about how we as outsiders are able to "turn off" this protection of fate, and that then this protective measure that had become a hindrance was finally released, and people were at last free to live their lives how they chose looking at this part especially, through a lens of it being a mini-teyvat, it gets really interesting - i think that simulanka is teasing not just the future of natlan, but possibly beyond. im betting that something happening either in natlan or in the future will result in the "bubble" around teyvat being burst, so to speak, and that the fate laid out by peoples constellations and even irminsul itself being possibly no longer needed, namely through the actions of the traveler due to their ability to see "outside the story" so to speak long story short i think that simulanka is teasing the death of predestination and fate in teyvat at the traveler's hands, though theres probably plenty of additional details i cant remember atm
The fact that mahuvika's va's husband is zhongli's va who uses a meteor in the burst. And that ending sequence mentioning about mahuvika being married to the god of comet is so perfect.
It's actually crazy looking back at how many things you've managed to predict. Great job and keep it up please, because I absolutely love this world and I absolutely hate how I am forced to read limited time weapon descriptions and pieces of paper on the ground to try and piece this insane lore together
After the livestream, I now think that instead of everything being different with the ball game this time because all the players are there, it is different because a role is missing. The sun cannot be resurrected and the underworld (Abyss) thus won't be held back anymore. Given that the pyro statue is broken, maybe the missing role is that of the Pyro Archon
It's so crazy to me how much the writing and nation design team clearly CARE so much and put so much thought into every aspect of their work, and then the character design team throws that out the window because of dumb colorism 💀💀
WAIT so was the adventurer from Venti's quest's soul trapped because he died in the Mare Javari, or was that just a red herring and the real reason was because Hans was still living out his role and with his name? And that's why Venti asks him to "hand over his friend's spirit" to free him?
fun fact one of capitanos subordinates finds ororon suspicious (presuming the natlanian they mentioned is him) i cant wait to see how the story goes on + more of capitano

This concept of growing and learning through traveling always has been a recurrent theme in Genshin, as the MC is literally called "The Traveler", and at the end of the Natlan's chapter Natlanians might start traveling again, which will lead to a big change for its inhabitant somehow.
holy shit you’re cooking :0
Bro what? It’s like you have foresight with how right you were
@CosmicET00 I was pretty much wrong as they actually couldn't leave Natlan the way they wanted and were physically stuck there. But it was quite easy to guess that they could leave the nation at the end cuz it's Genshin and they need to find excuses to make characters move for events
predicting ancient names and reincarnation from the fire is crazy goddamn
I 100% agree on the idea of using the ball game or competition to harvest will. I think it's like harvesting emotions to ignite a fire, both physically and metaphorically. This is why Mavuika says that no spark will go unnoticed.
(Sorry about that essay of a reply, but your wording made the mind gears turn a lot, and I thought you could go further into your idea so I tried to do it myself, I jope it's not bothering you or anything)
I mean, at least since Inazuma, the person or people in authority harvested a different concept each time.
Which would fit with how the Harbringers behaved:
Signora didn't push the Knights of Favonius to the point of acting, only to give a sense of urgency, to make the Archon go out of hiding just long enough.
Came back from the Natlan trailer, and yep, you have now been elevated to Grand Sage.
Imagine if Ashikai pulled an Alhaitham and rejected the position 😭
Yeah there's no way it's not intentional. By the way everyone calls him Traveler now and it is also a role
small correction Dain knows both of our names so idk-

Hehe you could also say that rugby is played almost religiously. I've heard rugby being described that way many times
Saving this for later
Seriously, people are intimidated by these dances? The situation of these dances seems so out of place to me that it makes me laugh.
Let it be known that I say this in good faith, all people must keep their traditions alive.
@@brago900 Its probably born from confusion. You see a bunch of big ass men suddenly start dancing and making noises you'd be weirded out too, seeing a war dance in a sports match seems out of place lmao

Scaramouche previous "names" been titles instead of names is interesting beacause Ahau K'uhul (the alebrije-like lizard with Kinich) is also not a name but a Maya title, that could be translated to "One who connects humanity with the gods" 🧐
Also, some little corrections. Kinich is not Aztec its Maya. And also, its preferable to use the name Mexica instead of Aztec. There's many reasons to it, but in short, Mexica is how they called themselves, and Aztec refers to a very specific time period of Mexica origin mythos.

Anyone else noticed the recurring theme of each region has the ruling of a nation being ceded to the people, and/or connecting the people to their Archon, for better or worse?
Monstadt Has Venti explaining the reason he doesn't get involved often in the affairs of humans except to soothe them
Liyue has Morax abdictating rulership to the people as he feels it's their time to decide their own fate.
Inazuma has oppression by the Archons puppet removed giving ambition back to the people and helping Ei connect with them.
Sumeru is about re connecting the people back to Buer/Nahida as she in turn learns about and reconnects with them.
Fontaine has Furina become a part of her people finally and Neuvilette literally making Fontanians actual people
This seems like an incredibly important detail
Here after 5.1. Is amazing how you nailed much of the story
More foreshadowing, more excitement for Natlan.
Ashikai you're cooking so hard that it's on point with the livestream
also with names as roles, i immediately thought of how the traveler twins (whichever the player is playing as) pick a new name when they arrive on Teyvat.
You could even make up a string of letters unpronouncable for humans.. so they had to come up with an idea to bypass this problem by just calling them "Traveler".. and rendering the chosen names irrelevant to the fate-plot as lowkey hinted in the post-Simulanka-Kaveh-quest.
could be both honestly
I think Natlan might finally reveal that Teyvat is a simulation of some kind. We’ve been talking about things similar to this since Inazuma.
Inazuma and The Chasm quests talk about time paradoxes (like Makoto planting the Sakura tree)
Sumeru is about dreams and time loops and messing up with History
Fontaine is about everything being a big act, a play
To be fair, most players forget Genshin is one of the narratives within the Honkaiverse, which holds repeating concepts; dreams, samsara, memories etc. Based on Simulanka story, it's assumed Genshin's narratives parallel more towards Honkai part 1.5 and 2, and Star Rail Penacony arc.

Cryo - prevention of death of the body (cryopreservation)
Pyro - prevention of death of the mind (eternal flame)
Electro - prevention of the death of the spirit through time (raiden story quest)
Hydro - prevention of death through fate (fontaine archon quest)

Anemo - element of spirits (venti story quest)

(fun silly idea i had)
The amount of stuff you got right is generally amazing.
there's one minor thing that i think is relevant that wasn't mentioned here. when celestia/the heavenly principles arrived to teyvat, there were only dragons, no humans. one of the reasons for starting the war against the dragon sovereigns then was because HP wanted to turn teyvat into a world for humans. this makes me think that the world of the dragon sovereigns was incompatible with human life. this parallels how mini durin's existence was incompatible with life in simulanka, not just because of his size but because he converted everything he touched into base materials--base elements, one might say. the end result in simulanka is that in order for dragons to coexist with others, they need to alter their forms to become compatible with human life--which ALSO parallels everything neuvillette says about how much time he has spent understanding humans.
so maybe, if the dragon soverigns are to return and to assist in overthrowing celestia, they would need to do so in a way that doesn't destroy all the human life around them. the ending goal and message of the main story quest in simulanka was one of coexistence--so what if the final goal of the abyss twin, the tsaritsa, and potentially mavuika as well, is to resurrect the dragon sovereigns along the same lines as neuvillette and mini durin--granting them bodies that would be able to thrive in the current teyvat without exterminating all of humanity. then humanity, the dragons and maybe the archons as well could take on celestia.
this is in line with another commenter pointing out the recurring theme of nations liberating or uplifting people in relation to their archon
More name foreshadowing: the chat we (never) had with sibling during Bedtime Story. Sibling calls us by our given name and we comment that they’re the only one who calls us that.
Yes..this!,,
Hi from the future, you were about 90% right, it was amazing tbh
Can I also point out that Neuvillette isn't his given name but his surname? No one actually knows his real name. I think it's pretty important that we don't know his name.
He hides it on purpose
If I had to guess, it'll be Ottar (Genshin does do jokes of that kind, it wouldn't surprise me)
His name is Leviathan, that is already revealed in-game and it’s also his constellation.
All elemental dragons are probably named after dragons from the culture they’re based on, like Apep.
@@asafin100 I know he's referred to as Leviathan, but where does it say that's a name?
@@amouramarie Educated guess, all dragons are named like that. "Neuvillette" is probably just the name he came up with to live among humans that he presents as being his surname to draw a line.

THIS HAS AGED SO WELL
Watching this after 5.1 Archon Quest. So many things hit the nail. Great video as usual.
being from Yucatán and obviously surrounded by mayan culture, I love hearing Ashikai talking about its mythology and beliefs
And we know hoyo dev is otaku I mean come on man kinich and ajaw jp va is naruto and sasuke
the nation of war having a sport to settle disputes instead of going to actual war is such a good move
I love this idea but im sure the majority of the people will be mad because they expected war, fights and death....
There is a different way in which I noticed things and I didn't know any American myths to confirm them but this was all I learnt from the main quest of simulanka:

How in the world does many culture point to the same interpretation of wind. It's as if the collective unconscious is real 😮
that’s interesting… in danish we use the word “ånd” (kinda pronounced like the “un” in words like “understand” or “under”). We believe that’s how the soul leaves the body.
btw “at ånde (to breathe out)” and “en ånd (a spirit)” is the same word in both instances, one is just used as a verb and one as a noun
this impressed me. you just laid out your theory so well. i have always had trouble understanding genshin lore and such because of how deep and culturally inspired it can be.

i love how you might have nailed the theory about Capitano being a twin and resurrected.. omgg that would be soooo cool
There were leaks that colombina would be next playable fatui
I mean, each region had the Archons being rerun.
Venti and Zhongli in .0 and .1, the current Archon of each region in .2, Raiden in .3, and Nahida got her place in .4. I'm betting that Mavuika will be in .6 after Natlan, and the Tsaritsa in .7 during a Kahenrian chapter, since Furina would be in the .5 update.

Woopsie, thanks for correcting me, I'll make the change on my previous reply rn
I can say with 99% certainty that we're getting Venti's second story quest in Natlan to expand on the Stanley/Mari Jivari stuff.
i 100% agree with your examination of simulanka but i got an entirely different sort of prediction out of its storyline - namely the parts about how simulanka's fate is meant to be a replicated microcosm of the rest of teyvat at large. a dragon knocking stars (specifically stars that are physical objects, hanging in the sky) out of the sky made me wonder what might happen if something similar happened in teyvat. a dragon knocking people's irminsul fruit constellations out of the sky, either on purpose or on accident, in order to attempt to forestall or defy their fates. i think its also really interesting how people's fates in metropole were predetermined by the godess of fate, especially about how they were free to live their lives how they chose but certain events were unchangable and if they got "off track", that they were forced back in line or put in stasis until their fate could be fixed by an external power. theres also the part about how we as outsiders are able to "turn off" this protection of fate, and that then this protective measure that had become a hindrance was finally released, and people were at last free to live their lives how they chose
looking at this part especially, through a lens of it being a mini-teyvat, it gets really interesting - i think that simulanka is teasing not just the future of natlan, but possibly beyond. im betting that something happening either in natlan or in the future will result in the "bubble" around teyvat being burst, so to speak, and that the fate laid out by peoples constellations and even irminsul itself being possibly no longer needed, namely through the actions of the traveler due to their ability to see "outside the story" so to speak
long story short i think that simulanka is teasing the death of predestination and fate in teyvat at the traveler's hands, though theres probably plenty of additional details i cant remember atm
31:23 Right connection, wrong instance. Scaramouche crashed headfirst into the ground after he was defeated in Sumeru.
The fact that mahuvika's va's husband is zhongli's va who uses a meteor in the burst. And that ending sequence mentioning about mahuvika being married to the god of comet is so perfect.
You do not know how many times I've refreshed UA-cam for this video ever since the last act of Simulanka dropped
Finally Simulanka lore from Ashikai! This is what I've been waiting for this channel 👌
i knew it! The Kaveh quest is so random in the event, that's what it is, the LORE!!
how accurate this is crazy
@@Bunza. No ball game in AQ as of yet.
It's actually crazy looking back at how many things you've managed to predict. Great job and keep it up please, because I absolutely love this world and I absolutely hate how I am forced to read limited time weapon descriptions and pieces of paper on the ground to try and piece this insane lore together
Recently played the new archon quest, hahaha, so scary.
1- inheritance of Name
2- Capitano being Natlan people
3- and roles
After the livestream, I now think that instead of everything being different with the ball game this time because all the players are there, it is different because a role is missing. The sun cannot be resurrected and the underworld (Abyss) thus won't be held back anymore. Given that the pyro statue is broken, maybe the missing role is that of the Pyro Archon
Turns out. Names have Power
Especially Ancient names you Inherit.
It’s a little over an hour away from Natlan; perfect time for lore and theories!
It's so crazy to me how much the writing and nation design team clearly CARE so much and put so much thought into every aspect of their work, and then the character design team throws that out the window because of dumb colorism 💀💀
The ponit you made about roles blew my mind! It makes so much sense!!!
WAIT so was the adventurer from Venti's quest's soul trapped because he died in the Mare Javari, or was that just a red herring and the real reason was because Hans was still living out his role and with his name? And that's why Venti asks him to "hand over his friend's spirit" to free him?
:O
fun fact
one of capitanos subordinates finds ororon suspicious (presuming the natlanian they mentioned is him)
i cant wait to see how the story goes on + more of capitano
not even halfway thru the first chapter of natlan and you might as well predict the rest of genshin dude
21:55 after the 5.0 archon quest.. damn.
It is actually pronounced ish-balanque! The x in mayan makes a sh sound, my grandpa still speaks it a bit and i took classes too 🥰
I'm gonna watch this after Natlan to see how much was correct, I'm sure atleast some things will be because your theories are just always amazing!
Just to point out @Ashikai
Iansan in yoruba religion and mythology is not a god or deity but rather a orisha, a spirit or part of the supreme deity olorum, actually she is like a shade of him just like the primordial one had it's shades.
And she is not related to rebirth or death, that would be another orisha. She is related to thunderstorms and winds, which would make her vision electro, but i wouldn't be surprised if mihoyo did her something else
Sorry for any grammar mistakes, english is not my first language and i am out of practice, and if anyone want to add or correct this, please feel free to:]
Her vision is indeed electro
Yo! You cooked as well! Iansan's Vision IS electro! She uses it on one of the cutscenes in the 2nd part of the recent Archon Quest! :D
this makes so much sense after playing 5.0!! you are truly amazing💕😭
The Sumeru name thing was all about names being a red herring.
