Hey Bill. Great video. I agree with you, Archimede is a very fairly priced watch maker, and a very honest one indeed. I would much rather have a company that tells me straightforwardly which movements they are using, even if they are not in-house, than a company saying they have in-house movements when it's usually a minor modification of an ETA. Your channel is greatly under-appreciated. There are not many people out there that reviews small to medium size watch companies from around the globe. Keep it up!
Ickler is in Pforzheim. Which is just west outisde Stuttart, Germany. Glashütte is about 580 km to the EAST. And Zürich (in Switzerland) is about 240 km SOUTH. Cheers.
Yes, Leasetime, I think I switched Zürich north of Pforzheim in the video but I had it correct in the write-up... love maps, just need to remember what's north and what's south! Take care, Bill
I'm four years into a 39mm Flieger on the mesh bracelet option. It's an outstanding watch with outstandiing lume from a company that's a pleasure to dela with. Why Archimede? I though the watch proportions were better than other better-known brands. I could even upgrade my caseback to 10ATM, but Brexit has made that more ... complicated ... than just ordering one. Good video, sir. Good to see this company getting the appreciation it deserves.
I purchased the 36mm Flieger a couple of years ago. Then, it came with the ETA movement. It’s of outstanding quality and has become one of my favorite watches.
Hi Bill. Appreciate your interest in German watches. I've always liked the Archimede brand as a good choice for an everyday watch. Suggestion: If you're struggling with German pronunciation, translate it to English and use that. For example, there is no equivalent sound in English for "auch". However, Taucher literally means diver.
Citizen 9015 is really a miyota movement. 4hz uni-directional winding, so the rotor can be noisy depending the case construction. Overall its a great inexpensive low profile movement.
Yes, Rocco, Citizen owns Miyota. I'm still curious as to why the 9015 was used in the Doctor's Watch. Maybe it was the size? Just not sure, either. Any ideas? Take care, Bill
Hey Bruce, thanks man! What are you thinking will be the odds we can both make it to the WatchTime Show this year? I got my tickets, but have to wait to see what the Covid19 situation is by then ... should be ok. Take care, Bill
My pleasure, Phil! I was vaguely aware of them and decided on a closer look ... I did buy one of their cases (Ickler), and it's top quality and found the same in the Archimedes watches. Take care, Bill
I'm with you on chronographs, and the Archimedes Pilot is cool in its own flieger self. Somehow that chrono put it all together. Hope you guys were able to get your shots! Take care, Bill
Great video bill ...interesting to see a completely new brand I hadn’t heard of ,I really love the look of these pieces.i especially like the klassik 200 bl.lhb in the blue ,,really beautiful.and as you stated eta and there affiliates do make very good movements .cheers bill looking forward to the next one 👍
Hi Colin, it's always fun to find a new watch company that has high quality components housing a movement that you know exactly what you're getting at a fair price. Yes, the Classic blue is a sweet one. Take care, Bill
Tim, the goats are ok ... hurricane-tested goats! Where are you looking at LFs? in Greenwich? Cellini's in NYC? Love the looks of LFs ... the ones I tried on felt light. Take care, Bill
@@watchartsci yes in Greenwich. Getting a 20% discount on it. It’s made of titanium but supposedly less scratch resistant than steel. Btw. . Hurricane just hype !!
Bill, it's got to be extra points in anyone's book - more preferable to be transparent about the movements it uses than to have those with outstanding specs. History/heritage goes even further down the purchase criterion if the watch looks/feels good. From Archimede, I'd like to have either one of their deckwatches or the Pilot's small seconds hand-wound
Hi Gilberto, I agree. Why is it so hard for most watch companies fudge the data? When they list their movement as "Swiss-Made" with no other information, we're going to assume it's an ETA or Sellita. Better that they just tell it. Yes, a Pilots hand-wound would be cool! Take care, Bill
Hi Junior, check out the Archimedes pilot GMT watches (www.archimede-watches.com/pilot/pilot-42-gmt-steel-and-bronze/) as well. The Doctors watch is a favorite (www.archimede-watches.com/klassik/klassik-doctor-s-watch/) and very affordable! Take care, Bill
@@nickkind1 What about 'Parmigiani' from a Swiss company? I don't agree with you Nico; the Italians I know are very broad-minded! Let's hope they won't think that an Italian (actually ancient Roman) name by a German company with a Swiss movement would not be acceptable to Italians!😉
Hey Paul, what's up Doc?! The Doc Watch is very cool and the dial is artfully done (www.archimede-watches.com/klassik/klassik-doctor-s-watch/) . Take care, Bill

Thanks, Gasparm! I think it's more fun to discover new watch brands than to say the same thing about a handful of popular brands. Take care, Bill
Good German quality for a reasonable price. That sounds good. I didn't know that brand.Thank you for showing, sir.
Hey Cap'n! Glad you liked it ... always fun to explore different brands! Take care, Bill
Correction!! Excellent quality,, everything inhouse except the Sellita movement
I like the Deck watch, it has a clean look. Thanks Bill ! ❤
Glad you like it, Jonathan. Sort of a boat-lovers watch, I sense. Take care, Bill
