As an alternative to leather I can think of a couple of options. First is a sailcloth strap. Or maybe a Perlon strap, or some other kind of woven strap like a Haveston or a Crown and Buckle Chevron strap. I used to have an Archimede Pilot style watch. I gave it to my son, who wears it regularly. When the leather strap wore out, I put it on a silicone strap as it was a strap I had on hand that fit the watch. He liked that so much he just kept it.
It's the gaskets that make the water resistance. The screw down is only to prevent pulling the crown open under water, which would compromise the gasket's ability to stop water. The exception being Rolex triple gasket-system, that would survive with the crown open I'm told. Please correct me if I'm wrong. So no need to be less confident around water with this one. I'm assuming they simply have good gaskets. :)
Just to say you got taste, the milanese bracelet on the orient master king video, was a stunning choice, same for letting us know about atticus, I remember I discovered rado few years ago with the presentation of the five diver under 1000 dollar. by looking at everythumbnails blue is your favorite colorXD
I just confirmed with Archimede that their stainless bracelet with diver buckle (5 link style) is compatible with the Klassik 200. I believe you can also add hardening. Love your review videos, by the way! Keep up the great conent!
Probably just me. But I wish they branded the watches ‘Ickler’ as per the family name. Love the watches though! This klassik model would look ace on bracelet.
I really like both these watches. I was thinking of buying the outdoor watch a while back but then I heard somewhere that it has a special lug which means you can only use special dedicated straps. Is this true? Thanks!
If I want a light weight but sturdy, durable field sports watch with a white dial, what is your recommendation? I trust you. My budget is $200 - $1500 I've been looking at the hamilton khaki field 38 in white. Is it a good choice? Do you know the weight of it?
You don't seem to be a dress watch guy for the most part, but their sister brand Limes makes some of the most gorgeous dress watches this side of Glashutte Original, in fact they remind me of GO quite a bit, especially with their big date models. They also have a penchant for fluted cases a la Breguet, which I love.
I honestly can't see how you could say that a watch with a leather strap is overbuilt. Like how do you judge it? The only haptic element on a watch without a bracelet is the crown action and probably the weight aswell. Other than that, theres nothing where the manufacturer could have shown off their availability to produce something that feels and looks high quality. The bracelet, the endlinks and the fit of them to the case, the clasp and all of that working together makes an overbuilt watch possible. But a case alone? I simply don't get that. Even a Seiko 5 fells great once you removed that shitty bracelet.
It has a hardened stainless steel case, 200m of WR, and Sapphire on both ends, it didn't have to do any of those things, and yet they did. So yeah, overbuilt in those aspects.
What a great review! Thank you very much for that! Best regards from Pforzheim, Germany to all of you!
I like Archimede they do a very good watches for the price they ask. That Outdoor antimagnetic is amazing spec monster.
I love everything I've ever seen from Archimede. They're on my short list for a near future purchase. It's between them and Orion.
The review we needed of a watch that is perfect on paper for me. Thank you!!!

Nice watch, excellent review!

Agreed, great review. Thanks!
any chance you can do a review of the black dial version with the steel bracelet?

Yes true 18mm
Could you please review their 1950-2 in black? Thank you. Keep up the good work!
Cool watch! Was considering it but the WR makes it a bit thicker than I wanted. Looking at their 39mm bronze flieger atm

Would like to see how this watch pairs with different straps including nato/ perlon
Nice watch
How have you found the scratch resistance on your personal watch?
I plan to add a cyclop lens a la Rolex Datejust.
This one looks really good - It has a bit the feel of Rolex OP39 at a fair price.
Lens - curved or flat, sapphire, anti-reflective?
How does the build quality compare to Monta? I’m not familiar with this company
Monta is luxury level, Archimede is more basic, akin to Sinn.
@@AverageBros Thanks!

Need this! But in 38mm
LOL, 38mm vs. 39mm, that's just 1/2mm on either side of the case difference
