After watching went straight to my local gun shop bought the stainless model love it so far 4 days & 300 rounds to break it in shes running like a champ no hiccups being a larger guy I love the weight and grip thanks bud great detailed video
I have this same gun in the 2". Great gun, I've personally got around 3000 rounds thru mine(mostly 38spc ). It is still point of aim accurate and i have had zero malfunctions with it.
I had an opportunity to take one out of a pawn shop for $200.00 in near perfect condition and passed because I had heard that EEA's customer service was a nightmare. I should have taken the chance though upon reflection. I've had an SP-101 in .357 and they are indestructible. I picked that up in 1999 for $369.00 new at a big box retailer. Those days are long gone....
Bradley Slackenfelch. I picked up one of these with a 2 inch barrel several years ago at a gun show for $125, used bit in great shape. It was a great shooter. It had one tight chamber in the cylinder but really was not a problem. The front sight was held on with an Allen screw and it came loose from time to time. I believe they have changed that design now. They do have somewhat of a "cheaper" feel overall than a ruger or a Smith. But mine functioned well . I think overall they are a great choice, especially for a budget gun. I also had 2 ruger 101's. One in 38, one in 357. Both with 2 inch barrels. Got them both for $500 used from a local gunship. He had $300 on each. I kept looking at both of them. He said if i took both I could have them for $500. Those days are indeed gone. They were both great guns. But that was during my trading days. I ended up trading both of them to a buddy for a nice Sig 226 in the box with a lot of extras. And I let that EAA get away too. I was thinking about getting one or the other again so I'd have another 357. The EAA goes for $279 in my area at Rural King and the Ruger for damn near $600. That really blew my socks off! I love the Ruger but I'll have to go with the EAA. I just can't spend $600 for a snubby. I do mids the ole day gun prices.
Thanks for your time and honesty GG as always!! I never bought one of these Windicators but I may pick one up. I have a Colt trooper mkIII 357 and would like to have a shorter version some day. Thanks again as I always enjoy your videos Sir!✌👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Yep, I'm still debating the Windicator or a Ruger SP101. I've already bought three more guns than I've intended this year, but maybe I can squeeze a Windicator in the budget around September.
I've had a few folks over the last year or so wanting me to review the Windicator, it is a couple of hundred dollars less, and it is six shots. But, I think the SP101 would be more to my liking. So we'll see.
I'm in the same boat as you, buying more than I planned on.I think the Ruger is a better made revolver but the Windicator is well over $100 less.Tough choice.
garageguy879 do these come in .45acp? I've been looking at a Charter Arms in .45acp but it's actually a little more expensive. I want a snubby to have interchangeable ammo with my 1911.
I love watching videos and using the subtitles. The "green olive points" made me smile. Thanks for the video, bummer can't find grips, I like th ability to change them. Maybe try Talon grips? I put them on several semi autos including my Sig 357 because some of that textured grip is a little too rough against my skin for carrying. Another replacement grip that is the best in my opinion of course, for any 1911 style pistol is the Pacymyer rosewood and finger groove replacements. It feels amazing and will improve your .45 shooting. Happy New Year!
My only complaint about my Windicator is the blueing is horrible, I had it cerakoted Tungsten Gray and that solved the issue and it looks a whole lot better too.
i did like the sights on it. i put white out on the rear sight and red nail polish on the front. solved that problem. i am not a fan of the double action trigger pull but i did not spend a thousand dollars buying it either. ($350.00) i have the 2 inch snubbie.
Hi garage guy if your friend Walter you help me out before and bought some info about Samano now I’m going to but vindicator couldn’t get much information from anybody but in this video you showed it all thanks a lot again your friend Walter New Orleans Louisiana in New Orleans Louisiana
Good review. The grip I’m seeing online that fits the Windicator is a small frame model 85/856 Taurus grip? And I’m not sure, supposedly fits the 2” & 4”,,, but not verified
Thanks for making that vid. Next year do one, one arm fire with each caliber! Pretty sur youd handle it fine. Grip info big help. Shopping this piece and this vid popped up. Thanks for your time young man.
So how is the EAA Windicator holding up 3 years later, any problems ? What was the original problem that you sent it back to EAA for repair anyway ? Wound you recommend one today ? Researching to buy... Thanks and God bless you and yours
A part called the hand was replaced.I had it back from EAA within 2 weeks and she's been flawless ever since.Yes I would recommend it but finding a larger replacement grip has pretty much been impossible.
I agree with you, this is an exceptional wheel gun even with the hottest loads. I wish I had a different bigger grip. Mine is 2" model and and it is as accurate as my S&W 6" 686 at all distances at the range. The only thing I needed is a pair of shooting gloves to avoid the pinch between the grip and trigger guard that hurts if held loose. I love a great value and I am not be disappointed.
Hey man, find yourself a really fine figured walnut wood and make your own grips. It might not be too hard, I don't really know, since I never owned an EAA revolver.
Mark, your babble far surpasses the 'expert' crap from advertisers. BTW, I have two EAA snubby revolvers, 38 spl and a 357. Great pistols at any price.
I have the .38 special in the 4” barrel. What was your issue with the grip? Mine is slightly loose, but I haven’t had any other issues, and I’ve been otherwise pleased with its performance so far.
The zinc one costs about 80 bucks more. Is it worth it? I had a Taurus 65 4 inch barrel it was good but I think the gun was too light to handle 158 gr heavy loads
Mark, have you tried to contact Hogue too let them know you and others are looking for a set of stocks for the firearm. They might just decide that it would be worth making them. You never know!
Would you mind giving me the measurements on that grip please? I want to know if they are bigger than the grips on the .38 special variant. Length and width please.
It has the eea logo on the right side of it if that helps but the design of the handles are basic so if you have a drill and block of wood sometime it should be extremely easy to Made one

But I do have a few eariler videos on this revolver where I did jave a problem with it but EAA took care of it.But before you make that click,go to a local shop and hold one to make sure that you're going to be satisfied with the grip because there are no replacement grips anywhere for this.
