You may be just starting drums and wondering, 'how high should my hi hat be?' Or, maybe you've been playing a while and you're just curious.
Whatever the reason, different heights/settings can be something that's quickly dismissed for different reasons.
Maybe you just want to play or maybe you're someone who thinks you shouldn't waste a lot of time thinking on these things.

It's personal preference and depending on how tall or short you are and how long your arms and legs are. Not because the drummer in the film clip sets his gear up a certain way.

I'm always moving things around based on what kind of stuff I'm doing.. Well its kind of like working out sometimes I move it around just to see how it feels physically. I don't go to high but there is this middle range I'm always moving it with in and also closer and farther out. One day Ill find the magic

I'd say mine is pretty good. I'm about that 5 inches above my snare but I have it a little closer. I'm still a beginner so sometimes my sticks will hit each other.
