Thank you for posting this! Please don't let anyone else's comments make you question whether this was a good idea. Yes, it was! I still watch The Cosby Show and I have no problem saying that.
Just say it, Bill Cosby did nothing wrong! Don't let Hollywood tell you otherwise!
Presumably you also have no problem with over 60 women being raped too.
Dana Hill was a guest on Magnum PI as well as in the Movie National Lampoons European Vacation.
OMG I love Dana Hill, she was such a cutie (she's about 18 here). I was always a big fan of hers. She was gone too soon 😥
She was talented and adorable. Diabetes took its toll on her.
They started computerizing the credits in late 1984.
Love the way orchestra’s rendition of Chump Change by Quincy Jones at 0:58
The theme to "Now You See It"
WNBC-TV (channel 4) did aired this show with Bill Cosby as a guest host who was covered for Johnny Carson. This was during that time, the 1982 World Series took place where the St. Louis Cardinals and the Milwaukee Brewers was played during game 6 due to a rain delay, after the show, it went back to the game since it was on tape delay. And then, the Cardinals won beating the Brewers 13-1 where the series was tied 3-3, and game 7 came the following night where the Cardinals won and became the 1982 World Champions.
Would you know what time period this aired on WNBC that night? I know it was an hour earlier over WMAQ . . .
I was 10 when that played I watched every second of every game and became a huge cardinals fan. I have never watched an entire series since that day. I remember possibly Lonnie Smith jumped over the wall to steal a home run. So amazing.
@@wmbrown6I have an idea as to when the Tonight show aired during the World Series rain delay. Per the St. Louis Dispatch from Oct.20 1982, it says: "(Doc) Medich (Brewers reliever) was miffed that after a rain delay of 2 hours and 13 minutes, with the Cardinals leading, 8-0, in the bottom of the sixth inning, the teams were ordered back to the field at 20 minutes before midnight."
When we rejoin Dick Enberg (his only World Series assignment for NBC) he says that they (MLB) were 10 minutes away from restarting game six. If we extrapolate from the game restart time of 11:40 pm CDT , Dick says this at 11:30 pm CDT. This means that the Tonight Show started at 10:30 pm Central, 11:30 pm Eastern, the normal time Carson aired in 1982. This leads me to believe that due to the long rain delay NBC allowed their affiliates in the Eastern and Central time zones to air their local news at 11pm/10 Central and Carson afterwards.
@@wmbrown6 The Tonight Show probably aired at its regular time at 11:30 PM EST, since the game resumed at 12:40 am.
Interesting to see Dick Lugar campaigning for Senate from Indiana on WMAQ-TV. I don't remember a lot of Indiana candidates on Chicago TV, though obviously the population in Lake and Porter Counties (at least) would be in the Chicago media market.
Bill and Doc are both still with us today.
I think it's interesting that "Chump Change" by Quincy Jones, the music played when Bill Cosby first came out, was used for the game show, "Now You See It".
Phyllis Dillar, id forgotten how funny she was
This was a truly funny routine by her.
1:44 "I'm going to try something this evening on you all..." Uh-oh
😂
🍆 😴
Cosby telling on himself
😂
Had the same thought.
Bill Cosby was a very funny man. He wasn't a nice person in private, but there's no doubt he was funny with his routines and ad libs.
My Aunt worked with him on I Spy. And he WAS a nice person. I truly believe a lot if not all of those allegations were BS.
1:03 the music they played for Cosby that night was also used for the Goodson-Todman game show "Now You See It"
It was originally the theme for The New Bill Cosby Show, a short-lived variety show in 1973. Cosby is technically listed as the co-writer of the song, but it was really composed by Quincy Jones.
@@andyrose5616 oh yeah i forgot about that
I knew that sounded familiar
Now You See It, the game show, was hosted by Jack Narz for the 1974-1975 original version and hosted by Chuck Henry for the 1989 short lived revival version.
The song was called Chump Change by Quincy Jones.
Time is the harshest critic......
It would’ve been better if Doc had just said “Heeeeere’s Cosby!”
It appears by this point, Doc was the announcer on the nights Johnny was off. Up to the late '70's he occasionally filled in for Ed when Johnny was on. (Even to the point of on occasion handing Carnac the envelopes that had been hermetically sealed in a mayonnaise jar at the porch of Funk & Wagnalls.)
@@wmbrown6Reportedly, Johnny was getting frustrated by Ed’s increasing absences for other gigs and corporate events. He made it clear that the Tonight Show was going to have to be Ed’s top priority if he wanted to continue working there, and Ed quickly started synching up his schedule with Johnny’s.
@@andyrose5616 - Makes sense . . .
...or if he said, _"Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's THAT RAPIST!"_
Actually, he did say it, or would have if he didn't include "Bill" in the saying.
Is nobody going to comment on Jerry Lewis singing old Al Jolson tunes? At least he didn’t do it in blackface! LOL
"Rock-A-Bye Your Baby With A Dixie Melody" was his biggest hit single in 1956. (The B side: "Come Rain Or Come Shine.") Another irony in that was that he did his own version of "The Jazz Singer," on NBC-TV in 1959, which videotape was restored while Jerry was still alive. He did seem to have an affinity for old Jolson tunes, didn't he? (Though "You'll Never Walk Alone" can't be pinned on "Jolie.")
After that lengthy rain delay, the Cardinals blew out the Brewers 13-1 going into the 7th and deciding game the next day come October 20th.
I love the early 80's Oreo cookie commercial from 1982 especially the double stuff Oreos. They are my favorite Oreos of all time. 1:01:30 thank you.
All these commercials are pretty cool!
@@maryrye707 I agree with you all these early 80's commercials are really cool.
Thank you for this! It was interesting to see a guest host, as no shows with guests hosts air as part of current Carson rerun packages.
Do you know if Cosby drew good numbers as a guest host? I imagine NBC must have been pleased, and gave him the deal from which he developed his sitcom.
That said, he was pretty bad. I say that as a viewer of this, and not judging him through the prism of time.
He had Jerry Lewis, one of the biggest stars in America, if not the world, sitting there and poor Jerry barely got a word in. Painful.
I assume it wasn’t long after this (I know it was sometime in ‘83) that Joan Rivers became permanent guest host.
WOW, carson tonight shows with intro incoming!!!
Cosby sounds like he's had a few pops in the monologue
At the 30:27 mark, it was mentioned that no official World Series game has been called due to rain. That changed in 2008, when game 5 between the Phillies and Rays was called in the sixth inning due to rain. The Phillies won the game and the Series the following day.
That game wasn't called it was suspended. There is a difference. And in the baseball rules there is a specific situation that was met during the 2008 series that made it a suspended game
Dana had such a bright future. Her loss is a real tragedy.
The guy behind Little Bill!
Why on earth would anyone want to watch Cosby after all his legal issues? Must believe what he did was right!
It serves as a cautionary tale. A lot of younger people have no idea who Cosby was. He was so beloved for decades, it was really shocking what happened. Cosby really had us all fooled into thinking he was an upstanding family man with his G rated comedy.
Additional voices:
48:32 Tom Bosley - Totinos
57:25 Paul Winchell as Al E. Gator
1:01:47 Peter Thomas - Oreo
Question for you Rick aka Fuzzy Memories…do you by chance have any episodes of The Young and The Restless from 1976-1981 and 1983-March 1984??? I have been looking for episodes of it from those years, especially 1978-80 and 1983 for such a long time! I know you may get a copyright strike if you post them on here, but if you do have them, is there somewhere you could post them?🙏🏾🙌🏾I’m also looking for any TV appearance or concert not yet on UA-cam of Tina Turner (with and without Ike).
I used to listen to Cosby’s comedy albums all the time as a kid, thought he was so funny! And even a little kid could listen to him without hearing anything inappropriate. It was so tragic on many levels when happened to his victims.
I honestly believe most if not all of that was BS. He never forced a woman to be with him and none of them did anything they didn’t want to do at the time. Cosby was conservative politically, something many people just couldn’t take so they went after him.
More than sixty womens' lives ruined by this monster. And to anybody who sits there telling me they're all lying, you know what you can go do with yourself.
He says he’s living til 97, he’s 87 now.
0:58 Now You See HIM, Bill Cosby!
Hope mlb doesn’t block the footage
48:30 Looks like Tracie Savage
48:40 Looks like Corinne Bohrer
Since the World Series Game 6 was delayed long enough for The Tonight Show to air, what time did the game end after resumption?
23:00 hours mountain time
@@user-dc1dr9kr8x 1am Eastern! Wow! Well with the way Fox used to stretch their WS and Playoff games in the 2000s it’s probably not the latest game ending.
@@jerseyflaConsidering you had that 18 inning marathon a few years back now, I'd say not lol. That went to like 4am at least as I recall.
@@ajkTrue. I meant regulation.

Rick aka FuzzyMemories TV,
I had a nice post answering wmbrown6's question about what time "The Tonight Show" aired on this date, and it disappeared. I wondered why it happened. I did not post any links or any bad comments, so this is a mystery. I hope I not being censored, but in a way that might be happening to me. In some of the posts I might come across as a know-it-all or some have called me "Captain Obvious". I apologize if that happens, however I try to be mindful that anything you post, can comeback to haunt you, and also to be respectful because it's the right thing to do. So do you have any ideas why this is happening?
I see the reply you’re talking about - it hasn’t been deleted and you’re not blocked in any way.
@@FuzzyMemoriesTV Thanks, for letting me know this. I do notice that sometime newer comments tend to get hidden on other pages. It's UA-cam being UA-cam, and that's all I'm going to say about it.🙄😵💫🙂
Dude was still funny even if he was a putz.
Which dude? (I ask because some think that way about Jerry Lewis. Me, I'm not sayin' one way or th'other.)
Don't think Jerry Lewis ever drugged women@@wmbrown6
I don’t need to weigh in other than by saying this will probably be your lowest watched video.
Just remember this is only meant to be an historical document, and obviously not an endorsement of Cosby or his behavior in any way.
Smarten up Shellinois! ObObviously this is mot an endorsement of Bill's crimes. You sjould know better than that. SMH!
You shouldn't post any Cosby videos.
It's an insult to all his victims.
Love Bill Cosby. There are a lot of racist people who don't like him because he's black. But he's so funny.
No. A lot of racist people don’t like Barack Obama because HE’S black. Lots of people dislike Bill Cosby now for a completely different reason, I assure you.
Mmm ... people "might" dislike him for another reason
I really hope you are trolling. If not, you have a room temperature IQ.
Yeah, I don’t think people dislike him because he’s black……..
Really? This is not cool.
What he did was not cool, but who knew back in '82?
Either way, this is history.
Oh stop. Who are you trying to impress?
