There's a greyhound commercial during this episode that advertised a $50 flat fee to go Coast-to-Coast anywhere in the united states. As a kid watching this, I never realized how cozy their bedroom looked. I suppose I noticed it. Now, I want those lamps!
And instantly recognizable in the last episode of Newhart!
Tom Poston was a regular on Newhart and appeared in Bob...
And of course, married Bob’s “better half’!

The guy bringing them drinks at the bar was on an episode of Newhart. He played a down-on-his-luck standup comedian who asked Dick if he could do his act in the dining room during dinner.
As sad to hear the news of Bob Newhart passing I had to look at the bob Newhart shoe and o always like actress Susan plessette she was great and to me as comedian go a great be in the sky with Dean Bob and Sammy RIP bob
Wow, that news reel at the end. The more things change...
I love how Bob's "bad dream" reveal at the end (to write out Emily being pregnant) was the precursor to the famous Newhart finale!
I thought the beginning in reverse was great! Thanks
LOL at the reversed intro!
This was one of the best episodes ever. Thank you for posting it. Are there any more?
And just like that, it’s 1984-ish, I’m resting on the couch, home sick from school, watching morning tv reruns.
Bob Newhart told me in a dream he approves of the intro.
