Sic Mod Minh! I need something like this. It's interesting you have a link for people to buy you a coffee. We have a link for people to buy us a beer. Anyway, this mod is simple and satisfying just like the Spiker Engineering hood struts are.
Haha I don’t really like or drink beer ;) I might lose subscribers for saying that
@PhoRunner Channel Here's a suggestion Minh. Make your "Buy me a coffee" the first line of every video description. When you do that, everyone will see it. Not everyone opens the video description. I've learned that by getting tons of questions that could have been answered if they bothered to expand the video description by clicking on "Show More ". We've gotten a good response so far. Our top beer donation has been $100. We've actually received several $100 donations. Most donations are small, but it's cool people are showing their appreciation for the content we offer.
Nice. $100 is wild haha think I most I’ve gotten was $20-30 :). I always feel bad asking so I stopped mentioning it in my videos and if people find it, cool. Maybe I’ll move it up lol
@PhoRunner Channel Yeah, move it up. At first, I didn't like asking for money, but when I thought about how much money our videos save people, I didn't feel weird about it anymore.
Yeah lots of long hours filming and editing and researching and sometimes even damaging our vehicles.
Sometimes I miss working on my truck in peace with no filming lol but the fans like it so I do it
i got to look into those lights, cool
Works great for engine work!!!! I hope it lasts and doesn’t flicker!!! I’ve only had it for a day so time will tell. It looks sealed well though and quality!
You need to add a hood strut kit!! Best decision i ever made!
As with all your videos, an excellent how to.. Thank you and I need to get this mod!
It’s a great addition. Wish I had it before because I spent money on a hf light lol
I’m getting one of these for sure. This is such a great mod! They are going to sell so many of these.
Wish I had it when I did my valve cover lol
Thanks for the install video, great timing since I got one of those in the mail!
Nice
Ordered mine a month ago, have yet to install in my 1st gen Tacoma, will do so shortly, thanks for the video 🤙🏽
No problem!
I can't wait to get mine I ordered 3 of them 2 for my 3rd gens and 1 for a 4th gen
You’ll love it!!
@@PhoRunner going to be a life saver on tons of situation to easy of a mod not to do its like ditch lights for your engine
Man, I’ve been waiting to see this
It’s pretty awesome!!
Amazing.. buying a pair as I just bought a 99 Toyota Prado Land Cruiser. So one for my 4runner and the other for the land cruiser 😊, I’ve always wanted something like this for my rig.. Excellent as always.
Wow nice!!
Woah that so cool I was thinking of doing this mod before this video came up! Time to do this to my 4runnah lol cool mod 👍
Cool! Yes it’s a nice add for sure
Heck yeah! This is awesome. I will be getting this for sure. How is the drain on the battery? Just thinking if I have it open for a long time to work under there, will it drain the battery after a while?
Thanks!
It’ll be a while… the wire is very small and no relay suggests it draws very little power. The fuse is 5amps also so I suspect 2-3amp draw max.
Great install video!
Thanks for an awesome product
I installed a very similar kit from Scarab a couple years ago. Just wanted to say that after a while I relocated the ground and bypassed the hood pin for stealth reasons. It also rattled loose a few times so I prefer to control it with the switch. You should really install Spiker high-lift hood struts! First mod I did to my 3rd gen and remains one of the most useful on a daily basis. Cheers.
It’s on my todo list.
Nice tip. I was think the grounding may need some sanding for better connection. I’ll monitor it.
Nice! I have one, really good kit.
I’m enjoying all the lighting!
Good install video bro very simple easy setup
Thx and yes very easy!
@@PhoRunner always nice when mods are simple
Man, I'm so happy I found your channel. You have almost all the mods that I've been wanting to do to my 4runner! Thank you so much! What's your take on regearing the rear dif for the bigger tires and lift for better MPG?
Bro, great video as always, but I feel like you are stalking me. First the Atoto, now this kit. I guess great minds mod alike.
Lol maybe…
have you thought about hood struts for extra space instead of moving around the hood pole
I have but I worry it being another item lol
@@PhoRunner dont blame you 😂
I am researching an alternative cheaper option
Bro why did you drill that hole at 6:00 when there's already a hole in the fender an inch away? Was there a reason? Cuz I bought this kit hoping to use that pre-existing hole and not have to drill anything. i'm pretty sure that pre existing hole would have worked, and there's another one closer up to the hood hinges that would keep it out of the way of getting caught on anything. i don't know why you drilled that LOL
Hello! The hood is curved above that hole and would cause the pin to break after extended use. It also makes the pin switch visible from certain angles when the hood is closed through the gap between the hood and fender.
Yota nation did their homework designing this and I can confirm similar. I chose that flat spot to allow easy operation of that pin.
Nice!!
Hello! Just got a 3rd gen, my lift kit is coming in tmmw. What other components do I need to upgrade. For example do I need to get my swat bar end links now. If so which ones?
Yeah. I would move the fronts to the rear and buy 2nd gen 4runner ones for the front. Think I got a link and details in my video description
hey man, just wondering where did you get your hood insulation?, part number? thanks.
It came with the vehicle. I’m not too sure
Hey hope all is well, I just got the same bumper as you and winch and noticed the front end was dipping down a bit do you have a good solution for that? Thanks so much
Up the perch to the 2nd lowest if you got bilstein
@@PhoRunner I was thinking about that or adding spacers, would you not recommend spacers? Seems like it’s dipping down half an inch, gonna get everything measured on Monday.
I got a tiny 3/8” spacer on top of mine to fix lean. Mines on 2nd perch with 883 now since it settled quite a bit
Two questions, I have a 97 4Runner and was thinking about going to km3s that were 32s does that fit on stock 4Runner and does that mean I have to regear as well? Second question can you just put a front locker on the stock 4Runner or have to change a bunch? Appreciate the answers and have a good one.
Should fit. Bfg run small.
Lockers won’t require a bunch of change.
@@PhoRunner fire thanks so much, just Built sleeping drawers in back your video on it inspired me
Is there any concern that the LED strip might come off and get tangled in the drive belt while the vehicle is running?? That worries me.
That’d be a bad day!!! I haven’t had issues yet and so far so good even in hot weather!
Doing this in my s2000
Wife need underbody lights for her safety. Not mirror lighting. Is there a kit that works with her factory key fob ? When she uses the unlock button the lights come on ?
Hmm probably need a special device to wire such a thing. I’m not sure of any. But you’ll need to find a circuit that stays on when key is unlocked, don’t think the 4runner has anything
@@PhoRunner toyota has the kit. $1000
But what about the plastic cover?
Hi, would like to get some free RGBW led rock lights?
