I have the orange colored non o ring volar chain. It was super tight at first but it fits well now that its stretched and it works great. Also, to help with the sprocket deal, if you want a big difference in top speed or acceleration change the drive sprocket(engine sprocket) and if you want a small change go for the back sprocket. You can fine tune your setup with the rear sprocket. With 2 strokes its good to get the front sprocket setup for more torque and set the rear sprocket for speed, it should take some stress off the motor and should help if you have problems stalling your motor. Makes sense in my head lol may be wrong but the top part about which sprocket you want to change for big or small changes is definitely correct.
For the airbox part where you mentioned zip ties. The stock airbox has these clip like things with nuts welded to it. Clip them into the slots and screw the bolt in.

Its a hard mental game to believe you can re assemble a bike from being torn down to only a frame. It was scary for me with it being the first time i took the bike down that far. But parts are arriving soon and i will have videos dropped soon after hopefully.
Take a dermal to the pins on the chain link and take two plat head screw drivers and pop the link off it takes two second if you drink it down enough 👍
So I literally have the exact same kit on my 2005 aluminum frame yz250. I took it apart and found that the top of my cylinder sleeve has a few chips in it from possibly high compression around the head gasket. Did maxrpm freshen up your cylinder? Or did you just get a new piston/rings? My bike only had like 25 hour and now I'm gonna have to send it to them. Just trying to figure out how much it's gonna cost.LMK if you have any idea or if thats exactly what you did. Thanks bro
They have $250 top end rebuild kits .. my cylinder is still pretty much brand new so I didn’t have to send anything in but if you’re cylinder just has a little bit of scratches you can take a cylinder honor and hone it you’re self save a lot of money but if it’s bad you gotta send it in they’ll repair it for you also make sure it’s 71mm that’s the 285 big bore size 👍

Trust me I thought my bikes wouldn't get stolen with how i chained them up, but one cut and they were gone at 2 in the morning. Been 3 years since they got stolen been using cable ever since even did a test with it and couldn't get through it with cutters.

Run like 114 and 93 mixed 50-50 and a good brand of oil and mix your gas that way that’s what I do in my 285
