One of the funniest dialogues I ever heard was in the movie Armageddon: "Lev? You ever heard of Evel Kenevel?" (Russian accent) "No, I never saw Star Wars!" May the Force be with you and yours, Junkman!
The original Stunt Cycle was in my opinion, the greatest toy in history...This thing was built to military specs..it was indestructible and believe me I tried ! Great job Junkman, great info.....and the company is pronounced.....I Deal...But you are probably just F’n around👍🏻
@@driverbass1554 - I wonder what the newer reproductions are like, I guarantee they wouldn’t survive a 20’ set of concrete steps!....Lol..those were the days ! Good times👍🏻
@@ferg1680 probably not if they are anything like the rakes they make these days. We bought 2 new ones last fall to replace some plastic takes we've had for over 20 years. Both broke last week after a week of use. The older plastic ones used to survive at least one or two wooden handle replacements.
@That Junkman In 1976 Idea had unsuccessfully attempted to bring Girls to the "Evel Knievel" toy line with a fictiona famale version of Evel Knievel named ''Derry Daring'' . The line was a few modifications to the EK sets (instructions, graphics, etc). The line consisted of 3 vehicle sets (Pop Top Camper, Trick Cycle, Wheelie Car) and 4 figure sets. (Racing, Western, Mountain Climbing, Action Reporter). The line didn't last long. I guess not enough girls were into Motorcycle jumping at the time to sustain that market.
I had an Evel Knievel racer figure, dirt bike and energizer. I’d use picture books to set up ramps and stuff in the basement. Played with Evel as an action figure with my other toys so much his arm tore off. Had it for years before selling most of it in a garage sale. I still have the tool box with wrench in it 👍
I had the Scramble Van and the Jet Cycle with the bendy figure and the wind-up energiser. I can still remember playing outdoors as well as indoors with them. Fun times!
This was a fave line. I had everything. Oddly enuf , MY DAD would find these for me. He didnt call EVIL a doll ! We used to go to motorcycle events & RollerDerby.
My older brother had the Evel Knievel Funny Car and stunt cycle. They were one of the greatest toys of the 70's. By the time I got my own stunt cycle it was Team America. Same toy just with out the license. Hours upon hours of fun.
Thanks for refreshing our memories! Before watching I only remembered the Stunt Cycle, but after watching I definitely remember the Adventure sets, van and stunt canyon. I know I had some of the smaller vehicles, just not sure which. I remember being all excited that Evel was going to do an indoor stadium jump. I remember there being a super high ramp. I putting the stunt Cycle on the coffee table and cranking the hell out of that thing. I let him go as he took off and the cycle crashed all over on the floor. Then I looked up and well, Evel did pretty much the same thing. But as in all his wrecks, he healed up and got back at it. Great roll model that way. No matter how mangled and busted up he got, healed up, got back at it.
I had an Evel Knieval stunt cycle in the 70s and in the 80s i had an Australian version which was the Dale Buggins stunt cycle. When i was tying Evel to a string and bungee jumping him off a 3rd storey balcony i never thought 45 years later I would wish i still had it.
I wanted the Canyon Sky Cycle for Christmas but my parents got me a football and a Wilson, George Brett signature baseball glove instead. When I got to use it come the Spring time, my buddies told me it was too good a glove for me.
I still have the Scramble Van in box,a little worse for wear and tear😁 And ..,2 choppers, plus a lone beat up figure from the Snake River rocket playset
I was born in 74 and don’t really remember Evel at his peak or prime. I can remember being in 2nd grade and kids talking about their old brothers having his toys. I remember the stunt cycle came back without the Knievel tie in and it was a big thing. My brother had a Chips stunt cycle.
Ideal repurposed the line in the eighties for a line called Team America. You should definitely do a video about that line since very few people remember it.
I love those Adventure figure sets. That racing figure was awsome and loved the accessories for those. Please do more of these, if you're up for it. :) Thanks for the video
Unfortunately I never had any of the Eval 1,s toys as a kid but my neighbor did and every time we visited that was the toy I wanted to play with. I'm sure our parents loved that noise while they were trying to talk.
Miss the Stunt Cycle when I was a kid. Was in the hospital for surgery and my room mate and I would take turns sending that sucker down the hospital hallway.
only thing I have is the Scramble Van with a somewhat trashed box.... I'm pretty sure its got a different image on it (Canadian version maybe?). I got it for free in the early 2000s when I was on a bike ride and I passed by the antique mall and it was just sitting there at the edge of their parking lot. Very weird cus I got things there a few times. I think they had a lazy delivery person or something.
My brother had the stunt cycle and Stunt World playset, although I remember only the Snake Canyon side and not the arena side. Even looking at the toy doesn’t spark memories of that part, but hey, I was just a little guy and it was like 45 years ago. 🤷♂️ He also had a camper van toy, but I don’t remember if that was the Evel Knievel one or the Big Jim one. 👴🏻
Evel knievel was the f$#king man!!!! Had alot of the toys including the stunt van. Junk man great review. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽just bought some of your merch!!! I'm in Nyc so got 2 of your zip hoodies and one tshirt. You have some really cool stuff.
Good Evel trilogy! I missed out on the original but later had the plastic Team America version. It had a better handle on the energizer but was just a generic plastic rider. We had fun with them anyway though. I guess they did that rebranding after Evel got in trouble with the law!
My God! I had no idea so many nonsensical, BS, slap a logo on it just because we can toys were made. I was only ever aware of the Stunt Cycle, which I never had.
You good junkman. I just remembered Mr kineval in my childhood. Toys were cool. But I always respected Hank Williams senior, more. Let's do a country based nooner just once. Just trying is okay,

Oh for sure on Military Spec! Indestructible and 45+ years later and I can still remember the weight of that cycle in my hands.

That line failed because all they did was put boobs on Evil. Nobody was fooled.
I have one with the figure….and Bought one today that you didn’t show. It’s the rocket cycle with energizer.

junkman is the only guy that I know that makes advertisements or intros fun to watch.
I had the sky cycle
And the stunt cycle
My most favorite toy ever - the indestructible Stunt Cycle. I put that and the chopper through the ringer. Loved them.
Bad Ass. I have a 30 yr collection of EK figures, toys, etc. Also 1970’s Mego collection. Thinking of selling but extremely hard to part with.

There was no better constructed toy (IMO) than the stunt cycle. Everything we put them through and I don’t ever remember seeing one broken.
Thanks for refreshing our memories!

Since when did peanut butter and ham go together. 😂.
Great vid. Evel Knieval was ultra cool.
I wanted the Canyon Sky Cycle for Christmas but my parents got me a football and a Wilson, George Brett signature baseball glove instead. When I got to use it come the Spring time, my buddies told me it was too good a glove for me.
I had an Evil Kenevil Stunt bike With barrels he would crash through. Great memories!
There was nothing more satisfying than revving the handle on the bike launcher.
Never could get my stunt cycle to work like it did on TV.😂
Brings back tons of memories and Saturday mornings.
I still have the Scramble Van in box,a little worse for wear and tear😁 And ..,2 choppers, plus a lone beat up figure from the Snake River rocket playset

oddly, It is something you will seen soon :)
Yup. People forget. It was less cool but equally fun.
I love those Adventure figure sets.

The only Evel Kenevel toy I had was the Sky Cycle.👍
Ha ha the head sculpts, they look like those inflatable adult dolls.
I never had an actual Evel knieval one, but I had one of the knock off ones, I cant recall the "theme" on it, but the guys outfit was red.

I like the three video theme Junkman
i had the wind up cycle. was like 4 years old actually.
Yep, the white suit with the stars and stripes is the one I remember. My dumb parents never got me one, I had to play with my neighbor's.

Wow, I'm transported to Sears as a kid looking at the canyon sky cycle.. did that have a parachute?
I think so
You left out the crash car!
My childhood pre Star Wars 😊
Absolutely top notch vid!!!!!!!
I have the electric toothbrush that looks like the canyon jump

Team America even had a Marvel comic title. Not long, but it did exist.
@@pauljoyner4338 Wow! I didn't know that.
I always forget there was a robbie figure
