Seemed a much busier town on the Cotswold Way. Still, though, very charming. W/it’s well manicured landscaping. I loved the Yew trees, all 99 of them, lol. Fascinating that the 100th would never grow. Thanks again for ur wonderful videos. Take care…😉🥰💕
I now live in Painswick with my daughter, the `Painswick Stream `runs through their garden. The Court House at the rear of the church is where King Charles 1st stayed on his journey back to London after the battle of Gloucester . Thank you for a well presented tour.
I like to listen your narration very much. this English style accent is so comfortable and calmness to Listener. Fight on to keep this channel. You are best narrator for me. Thank you!
That was great really enjoyed Painswick , Bisley St look up the Bisley Boy it was written by Bram Stoker if you don't know this story I am sure you will find it very interesting , you may want to take t trip to Bisley and do a video.
From the US & i find the history there fascinating- did a self driving vacation , getting lost, fighting with my companions as is normal on a 10 day in the car vacation , I suppose- lol- & missing alot of interesting sights. T hank you for taking us around.
Ok The Cotswolds are beyond stunning! From the rich history, the trademark limestone and gorgeous Georgian homes…it’s like paradise. Simon and Will I so much appreciate you bringing a bit of England to me. It means so much. Take care of yourselves! 🙏🇨🇦🇬🇧❤️
Thank you for this wonderful movie! Fortunately, England has many of these old villages with atmospheric buildings. Very nice to see along with the nice commentary.
Greetings mate, from the U.S. As far as I'm aware, I haven't a lick of English blood ( ancestors from the Caribbean), but I find myself enamored with these quaint villages all throughout the UK. Scotland, Ireland all have beautiful towns and villages as well. Such a warm and informative video. Ciao mate!
Hi Simon, what a spectacular video and very atractive and enticing. I was wondering do you do wonderful videous of the Isle of White. I am so curious what is like. We've never been there and making videous of places there will encourage people to visit and enjoy. Thanks Simon for your skill and revealing to people the beautiful places one can explore without feeling nervous how those places will look and feel like. Bless you.
Hello we have been to the Isle of Wight and filmed Osborne House but not much of the rest of the isle yet. We will be back to do some more at some point. ua-cam.com/video/qCpuR8yDDIw/v-deo.html
@@MemorySeekers Evening Simon, thank you for such a wonderful video and such a professional explanation of this wonderful place, remarcable. Looking forward for the other opportunities to view more of the Isle of White. Your magnificent videous will bring nice memories to my friend who used to go there when she was a child, so 70 years since she visited the lovely island. Bless you Simon and kind thanks for your wonderful efforts, simply the best☺.
I ‘Like’ all your videos within the first few seconds because I know they’re going to be great! I’m flying over from New Zealand to stay with family in Guildford next February. I’ll be doing day trips on the train from Farncombe Station so your videos have really helped a lot over the past months or so as I’ve been jotting down places I’d like to get to. If I’m lucky I’ll bump into you guys filming in one of the villages and I’ll shout you a pint for all the great content you produce. P.S. I always send the link of your videos to my 92 year old grandmother who is still living in her home. She sits on the couch and watches them and messages me all the bits she loved about each video.
What a wonderful read. So sweet you send the videos to your gran. We are very happy that we have given you inspiration for places to visit. One place we have not been toon the videos, not far from where you are staying and accessible from Farncombe one train stop is Godalming. Check it out lovely old high st with cute pubs and restaurants. Haslemere is a couple of stops away and also a lovely Surrey village we have yet to film! Happy travel. 😊
I enjoyed this walk through so much. Such a beautiful and peaceful place. Thank you so much guys for taking me with you in such a tour. God bless you both.
Thank you for this lovely video. Painswick is my favourite place in the Cotswolds. We always visit it when in the area. What I like about it is that it’s always peaceful and never seems to have loads of tourists like some other Cotswold towns so parking isn’t a problem even in August.
Yes it does seem to be quieter which was one of the reasons we picked it. In the heights of summer the very popular known places like Bibury or Bourton on the Water are to busy.
Such a picturesque village, like they all are in the Cotswolds. So nice to see it on a sunny day with people about - it's been gray and deserted when I've visited over the years. Love your researched, informative, well-filmed videos - can I be your free apprentice? (haha, but unfortunately I don't live in England)
Another quiet, charming village. I'm sure as you walk around you can see subtle differences based on the age of each building. I loved the story of the 99 yew trees. Pins from Painswick! LOL. If you can't compete, find something else they need. I'm ready when you are for a visit to the lovely Painswick Rococo Garden! 101f (38.3c) here today...maybe I'll revisit your snowy Banff video! :0
There are other Cotswold towns, Bibury with Arlington Row, Burford, Upper Slaughter & Lower Slaughter, BUT avoid Bourton on the Water, it's been spoilt out of all recognition from the charming village it once was, turn down small lanes in the Cotswolds & there you will find unspoilt places which wouldn't look out of place several centuries ago.
Yes we have already been to those and did videos a few years back. Visited in March when it was quiet and they were very nice. This time we have tried to visit some of the less visited towns and villages we have a few more to show from our weekend there.
The Cotswolds used to be my stamping ground, my parents lived near Windsor & I would mount my trusty motorcycle and head towards any of the Cotswold villages that took my fancy. My parents had done the same thing when they were younger but on pushbike.
@@MemorySeekers Aaaah such memories when I was a 'Greaser' (motorcyclist) my head is still turned by the sight of a BMW flat twin. I'm now a pensioner & drive an EV, as I said, such memories!!
I'm enjoying these Cotswolds l but i was hoping you would cover how to get from town to town without a car. Also, i feel that the large number of cars kinda ruins the feel and energy of these towns...and it's sad to see the teeny tiny sidewalks. these town designs remind me of stroads (see Not Just Bikes for a description) that focus Exclusively on the movement of cars - and to the Danger to all who are not in a car.
Right at the top of hale Lane. You filmed stock cottage by court house manor. They are just to the right by the church wall. Maybe obscured by the parked cars. To be fair not much to look at tho.
@@johnnyswale3448 ah right I just looked on Google street view. How we didn’t see them as we read the information board right in front of them! They are quite unusual ones. Shame we missed it. Thanks for sharing least other night read this and take a peak!
Спасибо. 👍👍👍
I was in Painswick last year in may. It was a perfect sunny day like in this video.

Just love the Cotswolds. I know the weather has been very warm but oh how beautiful! Thank you fo taking us on your journeys!
It was such a hot weekend, I think that kept people away and indoors which was nice as we had the place almost to ourselves!
Lovely piece of filming, as usual. Painswick is such a pretty place, but I didn’t know it was famous for making pins
Neither did we until our research!
excellent documentary
Thank you
