I noticed I cut part of the video off with the numbers so here they are Screen Width is screen top to bottom. 69.5 on mine Screen Hieight i screen left to right 39 on mine Screen Inclination is from top to bottom 13.5 degrees Player X is from left or right of screen 0.0 Player Y is how far back from cab u are 15 Player Z is how far your eyes are from screen 70
So are you just leaving this blank and manually editing? I set mine up following your direction's and it just doesn't look very good imo, very squished even when set to "no stretch". It could be the build version I'm on or user error lol. Which build are you currently on? I'm trying to find the most solid one atm.
good video Rudy, i cant hep but think all these tweaks are a bit redundant at the moment. like you i dont like like the auto thing. ive just altered to my taste, its defo better but will they change the frikking VPX8 POV settings again before full release? Im also finding the ball is doing weird shit too, distorting etc towards the top of the playfield on my cabinet [43" 16:9] , before all was good with cabinet anti stretch, that looks weird nowand im using dont stretch the ball...................tweak tweak!!
I watched your Die Hard video too. My question, after i use the screen calibration table (I put all the measurements in) do I need to export the POV file? If I don't what will happen? I prefer to tweak each table individually but would like to know the reason for the export. Thanks in advance
@@rudysarcade okay, that's what I've been doing but I was tired of seeing the red text at the bottom and the verbiage about stereo issues so I thought I'd use the wealth of videos you have out there to rectify the issue. Your videos are great the first time and for reference later when you forget or need a refresher.
Hi Rudy, really appreciate your tutorial videos. One question. I'm on vpx 10.8. No matter what values i enter for the cabinet layout height and width in the video/graphics option menu using the screen size calibration file, the black rectangle with the two rulers never changes size on the screen. Therefore, the the black rectangle cannot be changed together to 100% to fill the screen correctly. Any idea what im doing wrong? Any light you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
while messing with the screen size calibration tool. following your video i measured and then plugged in the sizes. width of the tv matches up perfect 84. but for the height it is off by about 6cm. i put the ruler upto it and seems like the on screen ruler is not correctly measuring a cm. i have both x/y at 100%. is there another setting im missing?
No if you follow the video and do the adjustments to the screensize table after you put the numbers in. It is not needed to adjust the POV in table though. And doesn't always work right when used.
Hey Rudy nice videos as usual, got a question concerning pov in window mode under 10.8 beta 5, does changing any values affect the physics. Asking cuz I shared mine to a friend and he can’t manage ramp shots as easily like the ball has a harder time going up the ramp but not so sure because it could be perception change, thanks
@@rudysarcade thank you sir. If ever you get time for a quick guide on explaining nudge options in vpx would be great, I lost the nudging table effect too after upgrade. Cheers
@@rudysarcade yeah I tried that before, saw it somewhere, but it doesn’t stay even after saving. It goes back to 0.00000. It may be the build I’m on #1559 ?? And will try just latest one
Yes just update 10.8 then load the table in the editor and press F6 to start it in edit mode. Hit flipper till you in window and press Enter or plunger button to reset the table then use the settings to resize. Exit and save the table.
@@rudysarcadethank you that worked great the app I got first was totally wrong and could not see anything but second worked and it's all good now thank you for these tutorials and the help it's really appreciated.
That is just the calibration table to check your numbers of your screen size. I measured it and got the numbers close then I used the table to check them. If you don't have your numbers close before you run the calibration table it won't work right.

The issue is no matter what numbers I enter in the video/graphics screen for cabinet height and width it doesn't change the size of the black rectangle with the two rulers after while you are in the pov screen by pressing F6. Thanks for clearing that up and the explanation!
The 2k looks... very nice! I am struggling to have to dive into the 4k upgrades of my machine.
this was super helpful. Thanks man!

as i said in the video I dont use it.. I pref to manually edit my POV's

What's the point of exporting the POV file? Do the tables look for that particular calibration file?
I make it becase I don't use it but if i want to I can rename that pov and load it. It's just to save the numbers you really don't have to make one.

@foxvader1 no need to export anything anymore. When you press 1 or start it makes a ini file for that table
@@rudysarcade Okay, so just do the calibration and you are done? As always, thank you sir!
@foxvader1 don't even have to do the calibration table. Just open a table hit F12 adjust the pov then start to save

hello, where can I get the file to calibrate .vpx because I couldn't find it
Did they change the video/graphics options since this video? my window doesnt have that rightmost column to input the values.
Then you running an old version

@servadac137 go to preferences video options and says visual nudge. Put in 0.02

Hi, I can't find this file for screen calibration, could someone please make it available?
Need to be updated to VPX 10.8
@@rudysarcade Hello, yes I updated to 10.8 but I can't find the file in the table folder

Will this help with some tables loading sideways and really small?

I came to comment that the part of the video with the white cross made no sense.

Simply put, it's like a table with a tape measure in it to check screen size.
