I think you touched on it, but I’d like to add a little to it. You can practice all day everyday, but if you practice the wrong way, it’ll just hinder your game in the long run. So, practice doesn’t make perfect. PERFECT practice makes perfect.
I am a noob. My wife signed me up for a league. I have little to no experience and zero practice time at the moment. I am getting some tips from some of the experienced players in the league. I am experimenting with grip and trying to find out what will work. I enjoyed this video.
I just started a month ago. Got a decent board from Big 5. The bags were horrible. Bought some ACE bags that came today. Totally get your message about the differences. These are night and day better than the cheapo’s. I’ll take your advice and take some time to learn more before buying another set. Great video- thank you
I will say one thing hope it helps older guys. I didn't step for a long minute but I added a tiny step just to get my body moving in the right direction and once I got my distance adjusted it is great. Less effort to throw hard pushes and such. I see y Matt steps. He threw 1000 bags last week and that is tough on anyone especially older people so anything I can do to take a little off my joints helps. Just hoping I can help.
Nice 👍 especially on the boards. I went down the cheap road and the bounce just pissed me off. I didn't get ACL bags but I did get a couple of decent sets of slick sticks from SC Cornhole so I didn't spend a ton of money but they play great and have a yr guarantee. If I ever get to attend a tournament I am going to put my hands on the ACL bags just to see what I like. Thanks for the info.
@@cornholenoob One wierd thing I've noticed.. I like throwing bags that aren't extremely broke in.. I go and throw buddies new bags and a set of BG Vikings I got are new and I like the feel better in my hand I can get them flatter.. but they can bounce sometimes so I'm kinda tore lately.. I hope your channel takes off man alot of good info and relatable
Good video I started the same time you did maybe a month or two less experience but as far as the purchasing of bags you’re not lying you can spend a fortune chasing down the perfect bag, I heard one guy tell me the $200 bag cannot correct a two dollar throw and that made sense you’re absolutely right on the basics gotta stay in the basics . My whole family and now my in-laws are really into the cornhole thing so needless to say I have purchased 14 sets of bags in the last two months and had a blast doing it the problem is I want to play with them instead of wrap them up and put them away anyway good topic good information Keep your eyes open for Black Friday sales if you’re still looking for bags there’s a lot of good bargains out there check into Buffalo boards
Good info. I'm another Cornhole newb (just over 1 month) and was practicing after being eliminated at a Switch. I kept changing my grip over and over searching for what works. I'm not really sure what I'm doing wrong yet so I asked a top player. I was a scratch golfer but a Cornhole hack. Keep up the good work.
Great tips great video-, I feel if you play wth a better players you can get the feel on what it takes to play in tournaments. But-! Before a player puts themselves in a tournament establishment?? Please please please make sure you can at least make the bags make the boards when you're playing in a tournament. Especially in a Red Robin tournament.. To many players go or get forced by friends or family members to go play in a paid tournament game. And the player/players can't even hit the boards. NO, I'm not a pro but I see to many people bringing in players that want to play but can't and sometimes feel that the beginner players might lose interest in the real tournament game. Pluse it's not really good for a red Robin tournament. For the ones that play in this kind of level? You know what I mean. All Cornhole Players are always great people that will take the time to give out tipe on how to throw and play. Always a great social game. But? Practice will make even the best player, a better player. 🇺🇸

Absolutely agree, I just hit a age milestone and my joints are quite as lubed up as they used to be!
Thanks, just getting started. Glad I found this.

Another big mistake, watching how other people throw… you have to find your own and what works for you.
