Went to the Goodwill Store with my wife to drop off donations and then to look for gardening stuff. I saw this Keurig Duo inside the store for $12 only missing the carafe. Lo and behold the carafe from my Walmart coffeemaker from my camper fits perfectly. Couldn’t believe it. They also gave me 7 days to return it if it didn’t work. I downloaded the manual online and descaled it with white vinegar twice on each side. Rinsed it 5 times each side. Worked great and it brews perfectly!! Thank you! This is one happy 60 yr old Dad!

I did the descale and tried the vinegar and was pricing a new Duo, which would be my third one. I have some concentrated malalucca tub and tile cleaner. I ran that through and the first time it almost immediately opened it back up. I ran it through a few times and then several pots of clean water and it is running like new. The first ten time through either side I was only getting about 2 ounces. I don’t know if other brands will work as well, but this is the only brand that takes hard water off my glass shower doors.

My K Duo was descaled 6 weeks ago. I did this BEFORE any 'descale' notice came up on the readout. In the past 4 weeks or so, the pot side has not been brewing full pots. I press 12 cups and it brews 8 or 6 or just a lot less. Today, the descale word popped up on the digital readout. 1) Will descaling solve the situation with pots not brewing? 2) Why doesn't my descaling 6 weeks ago, do the job? The notice was not on, but I descaled anyway as a preventative measure. I followed the directions from this video using Vinegar. FYI: it's is almost impossible to brew anything now that the screen reads descale.

I've followed your instructions, my machine is in descale mode but the machine struggles to circulate the water from the reservoir to my cup. Suggestions?!

Same here! He is descaling without the actual light coming on. What do you do for that???????

I tried using the same vinegar you did, brand and type, same label. I did a 50-50 mix. I started the process and a little water came out then it stopped and reverted to flashing carafe or k-cup. I would run it again and the same thing happened. Didn't matter which vessel I was running or the amount. It would run for a short time then stop. I let it sit for 30 minutes to cool off. Restarted the process. Same thing. Lastly I put fresh tap water in and ran it. It ran fine. Is there a sensor in there that doesn't like the distilled vinegar? I would like this process to work.

I have a Duo and empty the reservoir and refill with 1 part white vinegar 1 part water. I ran 8 oz cup and it acted 'normal' Then I did the 6 cup decanter side but it acted 'funny' - it put maybe 1 cup of solution into the pot and stopped pumping. Then after a minute or so of doing nothing the red warming light turned on even though there was barely a cup in the pot.
Ran a 12 oz cup and it acted funny also and didn't fill the cup (it seemed to cycle several times trying to fill the cup). I powered off and did the 6 cups side again and it put even less in the pot this second time. I don't think 50-50 vinegar should be used. Several others in the comments in this video also mention this behaviour (not filling the cup/pot).

Started the descale process now my keurig is only dispensing an ounce or two on both the carafe and the k-cup side. Help!

While trying to descale my keurig k-duo essentials coffee maker, it only "brews" 1/4" of water/vinegar solution on both the k cup side & pot side??? Help, please??!!

I could use some advice! I have the same model Keurig Duo as shown in this video. I've actually had it for several years now, and well, I've never descaled it! Just a few minutes ago, I went to make a full pot of coffee, when it stopped working altogether. Admittedly last night my wife was rearranging the kitchen and moved the Keurig to a different spot. So when I attempted to make coffee this morning after about 4-6 oz of coffee had filled the pot, it stopped. I thought at first there might be a bubble in the system caused by moving it around last night. I turned the machine off. Waited 3 minutes for it to "reset" and then tried again. You can hear it starting to heat up the water, but then there's an audible "click" and it shuts off the heating element. Could it be getting too hot because I hadn't descaled it, or do you think it's a bubble? Taking a cue from you, after letting it sit for a few hours and cool down, I'm gonna empty the water and then do a 50/50 water and vinegar solution. Then run JUST 8 oz through the K-cup side and then let it sit for at least a half hour. I figure if I hadn't descaled it since we bought it, it might take extra time to dissolve the built-up calcium. Your thoughts? Suggestions? FYI, until I heard you mention it in your video, I noticed lately after adding a shot of cream and some sugar, my coffee seemed to be luke warm, so I'd have to put in our microwave for a minute to heat it up more.

When the screen says descale and your run the cup side set to 12 ounces, how much liquid should dispense? As soon as I hit the K button, about 1ounce comes out and the machine shuts off.

I am trying the steps with the white vinegar. The cup only let's a little solution through. I followed your steps for cleaning the needles but that doesn't help. The carafe side only let's a little solution through also.

I followed the video and it did not work. I couldn’t turn off the warming plate even if I held the button down. I tried to start the process all over again, and my Keurig just sat there doing nothing. I now have a coffee pot I cannot use because the D scale word is still up on my screen.

This is the same thing that’s happening for me. Did you find a resolution to remove descale word and make it work properly again?

You hold the 8 and the 10 buttons together for 3 seconds while it's off or on I don't remember which one but that's how you do it

Everytime I have descaled the Keurig Duo it has caused a blockage in the unit. There must be a design flaw as I have had to replace the unit twice now. Switching back to a regular pot now that the third has clogged

Does anyone’s pot stop putting out water/vinegar when trying this? Mine spits out a bit of solution but will then turn the hot plate on and stop.

You can turn off the descale message by pressing the 8 and 10 buttons simultaneously for approximately 3 seconds

My keurig has an automatic shut off feature. How do you get it to stay on throughout the whole 30min-2hour process?
