@kevin-nl3kq milo is the new vocalist. He's good from the live footage ive seen and they have it together. But ive seen interviews with Dinontalking sh*t about Burton and it leaves me sour enough to not buy a ticket etc.
I can recall my dad blasting this song through the speakers of his car while we went for joy rides when I was like 5. We played the shit out of old Deftones, Fear Factory, and Slipknot albums, just headbanging away. I remember walking out of a gas station equipped with snacks then immediately shifting back into heavy metal mode, furiously air-drumming in the back seat of the car like a lunatic while my dad laughed and snapped a picture of the moment. I miss those days, I need a metal buddy.
I was exactly the same with my Dad. Archetype was my favourite song when I was young, I just kept singing the "open your eyes" part over and over, if I remember right.
My best friend from 1st grade passed away last week. We use to listen to this song and play Game Cube all the time. Song has an even more empowering feeling to me now. He was such a happy guy and passed in such a terrible way. Love you, brother.
sorry for your loss @sean stewart and @bonafide true. my best friend also took his own life at the end of january on his birthday. still cant get over it but music is a great way to remember. We loved fear factory and a ton of other bands.
Man. I remember this song was on the Resident Evil soundtrack, introduced me to this band over 15 years ago. I've been a big FF fan for around 13 years now, can't wait for their new album.
Just like Zero Signal from the original Mortal Kombat soundtrack introduced me and many millions to the greatness of Fear Factory back in 95, I was in 10th grade.
That’s awesome because I’m in the same boat, I didn’t have cable or internet as a kid but my mom loved dvds and had a fat CD bible that resident evil 1 sound track has so many hits on it I became fans of most of those bands because of it . Wicked you got put on the same way

My husband and I used to jam this and every fear factory album back in the day. This song brings back so much for me unfortunately my husband passed away in 2013. This song makes me miss him so much
God damn I remember the first time I heard fear factory I was blown away. it was so fresh. They kinda just faded out. They deserve to be huge. fucking love most of their stuff.
***** the bar plays are better than big concerts. I love being close to the band right there in front of me. Without all the thoughtless idiots trying to crowd surf and and insane drunks yelling... I want to see them at a bar near me!
They've already been big and have already made plenty of money. The lead singer kind of lost his voice unfortunately... but apparently they used to KICK ASS live.
I’ve been loving this song ever since I first heard it back on the resident evil soundtrack. 21 years have passed. Lots of shit has happened in my life and I lost good friends. It gets me up today in the morning while helping with my depression.
Ah memories... I was 16 years old in the hospital to have a thyro-glossal duct cyst removed from my throat. A relative bought me Digimortal (it had just been released) a cd player and that year's live Ozzfest album along with GuitarWorld Magazine and Hit Parader with Cradle of Filth on the cover. I was flying high from a morphine I.V. drip in my arm in the middle of the night in a hospital bed the first time I heard this masterpiece. I already loved Fear Factory but after that it was on a spiritual level lmao... I owe all of my musical taste to the Mortal Kombat film soundtrack I received when I was like 10 or 11. Type O Negative, Fear Factory, G/Z/R, Napalm Death, KMFDM, Buckethead, Type O negative...I didn't know shit about metal or rock and in retrospect see that soundtrack as essential listening for revisiting good childhood/adolescent memories. Twisted Metal 3 introduced me to Rob Zombie too, around that time. On the other end of the spectrum, Nobuo Uematsu's soundtrack for Final Fantasy 7 was hitting all the spots that Metal and Hard Rock couldn't do for me. Fuck I need to play video games again.
That soundtrack was goddamn near transcendent. I got hugely into Type O Negative, Fear Factory, KMFDM and Gravity Kills from it myself, there isn't a bad track on the thing.
Same. I was at ozzfest 99 in Chicago and here comes a band on the 2nd stage I had only vaguely heard of. They open with 'shock' and the whole place went apeshit. Good times. I bought the obsolete cd and an edge crusher shirt the next day.
I´m a 45-year-old fart, I just started a band after like 25 years (literally) - just playing rock and metal covers for fun, nothing huge.... and THIS AMAZING FF COMPOSITION is one of the first songs we are learning to play. It is very simple, yet very interesting, melodic and heavy at the same time and above all: GREAT FUN to play. This si SOOO good for my midlife crisis.... ;)
This song is timeless. It captures that one specific vibe or feeling. Where you are living your daily lives fighting fires here and there. Be it problems, work stuff, love stuff, mental or depression stuff, loneliness etc.. At certain times, You step right at the edge almost falling and failing. Then suddenly a light appears and helps you out or you manage to make it work. And you continue living and try to be happy and find meaning in life. And vice versa. This song gives me that feel. The song hits home.
And I saw myself. I was lonely. I earned my place and I felt the warm wisps of love. I lost myself and drove into work to earn a place to find someone I was worthy of. I lost it all and found a girl that made me feel like I was worthy. We're still together today. Dark bodies don't need to float in darkness. We'll find each other.
One of the great all time classics of my "sountrack of my life on earth". So many memories goe along with this song and it always pushes me out of bad times, always.
The songs of this band are always filled with indescribable power. It's so incredible that it's hard to say. Эта песня волшебная, насколько же она яркая, в то же время мощная и приятная. С каждым годом она все лучше и лучше, такого больше не делают , как это было в конце 90-х , начале 00-х , скучаю по этому времени.
Idk why but the thought of floating in an empty abyss is actually soothing to me. I guess it's free of the worries of life. He's dreamin of the day he dies I think. He tries religon but the thought of a heaven was too much for him. He'd rather just have it end. He's done with any sort of life be it this one or the next and instead embraces an end to his existence. That's what I got out of it atleast.
This is soooo nostalgic, takes me back to wheni was 13 and I first got Doom 3 and my friends and I would stay up til 3 playing it while this song played on the stereo, this song oddly syncs with doom 3 really well

Love this song. I was reminded of it listening to the new song "Swim" from the band Murp (remember the 2 kids death metal band from 2013 America's Got Talent). I guess Howard Stern wouldn't like Invisible Wounds either LOL.
My best friend passed away yesterday. I can't deal with it. I've had a lot of bereavements in the last few years. Metal makes me feel like I'm not alone😊
This song is a neverending and timeless masterpiece.
For this album, imo, I agree. Overall tho, I have to go with Resurrection from Obsolete. Holds a special place in my heart🤘

No sign of light ever given
Imprisoned in a world without a memory
Unconscious, or am I conscious?
Cut from the heart I am part of
Sometimes I feel as though I'm frozen in heaven
And I saw my own face in the dark and loneliness (loneliness)
And I saw my own face like a spark frozen in heaven
In dreams I see myself flying
Closer to the sun and I'm climbing
Tried to touch the sun
But the brightness burned my eyes

Fell from the sky like a star

Dark, dark, dark
My life was so dark
Dark, dark, dark
Everything was (dark...)
Unconscious or am I conscious?
Fell from the sky like a star
Sometimes I feel as though I'm frozen in heaven
-- silence --
AND I SAW
MY OWN FACE
IN THE DARK
AND LONELINESS
AND I SAW
MY OWN FACE
LIKE A SPARK
FROZEN IN HEAVEN

good old RE in early 2000's. Fight back that depression bro and keep looking forward
you're all wrong. this album tells a story about a machine coming alive, becoming sentient, feeling emotions, and eventually dying.
Jacob Kersey you're thinking too hard about a basic ass album. It isn't that deep.
J dr0 Well a lot of their music is based around the movie Blade runner, which is about robots fighting to extend their lifespan.
Is not the fault of the band for you being so superficial and frivolous to not catch their message in songs.
JDvisualz No, he's correct. Fear Factory has made a couple of concept albums, starting with Obsolete in 1998. Digimortal is one of them.
