    ### Key Takeaways from "What I’d Tell my 20-Year Old Self About Diet, Business and Relationships" by Bedros Keuilian
    1. **Diet and Nutrition:**
    - Be intentional about your diet from a young age.
    - Understand food labels and macros.
    - Eat mindfully, stopping when full rather than clearing your plate.
    - Early dietary discipline benefits long-term health and fitness.
    2. **Mobility and Flexibility:**
    - Integrate mobility and flexibility routines into your fitness regimen early.
    - Prioritize these aspects to prevent aches, stiffness, and injuries as you age.
    3. **Self-Healing and Self-Understanding:**
    - Address past traumas and emotional scars to avoid impulsive reactions.
    - Aim to transcend from being driven by basic impulses to a more conscious, thoughtful state.
    - Healing leads to better interactions and a more balanced life.
    4. **Pursuing Passions:**
    - Follow your bliss and pursue your interests despite societal or familial expectations.
    - Step out of your comfort zone and embrace new challenges and adventures.
    - Taking risks and trying new activities enriches life and fosters personal growth.
    5. **Community and Social Connections:**
    - Avoid isolation and build a supportive network of like-minded individuals.
    - Engage in group activities, clubs, or sports to maintain social connections.
    - Strong social bonds are crucial for mental health and well-being.
    6. **Therapy and Mental Health:**
    - Therapy is a valuable tool for self-improvement and optimization.
    - It helps address deep-seated issues and develop coping mechanisms.
    - Therapy accelerates personal growth and enhances overall performance.
    - It’s not just for those who feel "broken," but for anyone seeking better mental clarity and emotional health.
    7. **Practical Advice for Young Adults:**
    - Seek mentors and coaches for honest feedback and guidance.
    - Overcome ego and accept constructive criticism.
    - Read influential books for insights into overcoming challenges (e.g., "Man's Search for Meaning" by Viktor Frankl and "Outwitting the Devil" by Napoleon Hill).
    8. **Taking Risks and Living Authentically:**
    - People are often too preoccupied with their own lives to harshly judge you.
    - Take risks and pursue passions without overly worrying about others' opinions.
    - Focus on self-improvement, building connections, and embracing therapy for a fulfilling and successful life.

When you're young, you often ignore advice and opportunities that could benefit you. As you grow older and become more open to listening and doing positive things, you often find yourself lacking the time and energy to pursue them.

Yes, it's too bad that Bedros didn't figure these things out like I did. The only thing I got wrong in my twenties was eating too much meat and dairy, and high-protein in general. I could have lived through my 20s and 30s being more healthy with less indigestion, less time on the toilet, less farts, lower inflammation, lower LDL, lower blood pressure, etc. Maybe when Bedros hits 60 and has a lot more health issues, he'll figure out that he got his meat, dairy, and protein wrong. He looks in terrible health for still being in his 40s. He looks in his upper 60s, about the same age as Mark Rippetoe, who is 68. They look the same; and I thought Rip doesn't even look that healthy.

I am almost completely off an anti depressant and anti anxiety meds that have been apart of my life for 35 years. I am feeling and it is amazing journey. I would say I was able to make this change after I began with resistance training. I did hire a trainer. It was not in my budget but I am making it work. Bedros is right .....community is precious.

    • @paulantoine1696
      @paulantoine1696 3 місяці тому

I have done the same... off all mental health meds, off most of my diabetes meds... and resistance training has been entirely key to my mental and physical health. Also hired a trainer, but even he wasn't enough. I had to sort this out for myself... none of my psychiatrists, psychologists or doctors were enough, or even close really. Healthier now at 60 than at any point since I was 17...
