I was overconsuming food to deal with emotional stuff, and it snowballed. I remember meditation was helpful. That mindfulness book called 30 Days to Stop Overeating by Harper Daniels had some good meditations.

@rijd2304 Blame serotonin. we are wired to eat. It's a good thing. However certain foods influence satiety and appetite, for me, prioritizing protein and fats/limiting sugar is everything.

I am insulin resistant and prefer to work out in the morning shortly after waking in a fasted state, and generally continue to fast until the afternoon. (I do have heavy cream in my coffee) I was plateauing for the longest time, and lately have slid back by snacking late at night and consequently gained back 15lbs of the 40 lbs that I initially lost. I can’t imagine eating 30 grams of protein so early in the day, and especially before working out. (I generally swim 2,000 yards 3 times a week, and intermittent fasting Monday through Friday)

I do just fine doing very little of this. I don’t workout in the morning, I’ll have some coffee to start the day, probably 2 hours after waking I’ll take the dog on a long walk, take a little protein before a resistance training session in the evening, get my protein and the rest of it afterwards.
I think if you’re just trying to be consistent then this plan could help some people. I don’t think you need to do everything within some window of waking up - I think it’s good to do it well before bedtime though, about it.
To be perfectly honest, there are days when the maintenance from previous workouts is more of a priority - flexibility work, flossing, etc. Going straight into the day’s workout without some of that is just begging for injury or decreased performance.

We are all different and I think it’s about finding what works for you ,
I’m in my 60s and still working as a tradesman, I stretch in the morning , do a weights session in the afternoons after work , I get mild cardio throughout the day while I’m working, probably the equivalent of a long walk carrying light weights.
I do intense cardio on weekends on my days off work .
My diet is leaning towards a primal diet

I work out in the evenings. I always have. I am an avid runner and have been working out for decades. I have never been a morning gym person no matter how hard I try. The best time to work out is when your body feels ready to do that.
I love to run at night when it’s dark and cool and there aren’t people out bothering me. 🏃‍♀

    • @anneg7411

I agree that the most important thing is finding what works for you. A "formula" (such as 30/30/30) might be just what it takes for some people, but I've always had my energy burst in the late afternoons/evenings so that's when I work out. Over the past few months I've gotten into the habit of walking in the evenings after dinner/before bed and it's been a nice addition but I'm not sure it's helping me lose weight. I'm still trying to lose the last bit of belly fat after successfully losing about 20 lbs. of menopausal weight gain through more resistance training and increasing protein in my diet.

If so, when is it possible to cardio while fasting while taking EAA’s? Thanks for the interview Thomas. But clarification on this would be very helpful😊

    • @cre8gnr8nrg

I took it as two different things.
One was 30/30/30 (30 Pro/30 min from wake followed by 30 min of steady state cardio.)
The other was working out in a fasted state. (I've done that often and it feels GREAT however I feel like I'm getting too lean and I think that's why they say to take the EAA's. So it burns less muscle is how I understood it) I think they allow black coffee so they are saying the EAA's are also allowed. As always experiment on yourself and see what works best for you. It sounded like 30/30/30 works best for some people but I can't remember if that was insulin resistant or not. I emailed it to myself to watch again later after experimenting myself. Good Luck =)

What is not mentioned in a lot of videos like this is many of the people in them are just genetically thinner. Most probably never had a problem with weight. Or if they do gain weight they just genetically take it off easier too.

    • @Rev3rence
      @Rev3rence 5 місяців тому +5

And that has to do with the topic at hand what?
Also "thin" people are basically people with less fat cells, they might aesthetically look better for longer, but boy oh boy if they don't eat well how their visceral and liver fat gonna spike..
Or are you trying to claim it is inherently easier or harder for some to lose weight? Because this is probably 90%+ related to how long a person had a shitty life style and how poor their metabolism got, rather than any genetic predisposition...

15 mg of essential amino acids equals about 1/10,000 of my daily amino acid intake. Its caloric value is about 0.06 Calories. It's about 1/41,667ths of an average male's energy intake (2,500 Cal). I looked up an EAA supplement on line and its recommended dosage is 968 mg, which is about 65 times the 15 mg amount recommended in the 30/30/30 protocol. 2. His background is human biology. He tries to give an explanation for everything even stuff to do with physics and chemistry and occasionally makes errors in the explanation. Hes spot on though with discussing real-life data, research and what works/doesn't work.
      3. He suggests things like walking barefoot, being bare-chested and doing yoga. A lot of people dislike being told to do that kind of thing.
      4. He does sell things on his website like red-light therapy beds that cost $$$s. But in his defense he will say how to achieve basic things for free.

Seems like your suggestion would lead to indigestion because you are asking the body to break down this protein while you are demanding things from muscles . That’s eating 5 whole eggs then immediately trying to kill it in the gym . Your body doesn’t want to eat and train at the same time for a reason . Ancestors didn’t eat while hunting . Some people are incapable of talking to make it easy for lay people to understand. Just give me an example of meal plan for anyone. I have listen to several talks with this guy and still I do not know what to do when I wake up and work out.

Why are your thumbnails showing foods items like a can of meat something and pancakes yet there is no mention of that food but more of a set of strategies. It’s misleading and annoying. Appreciate the content but you can do better than this. Here I’m thinking there are food recommendations now in a few of your videos. You keep tricking me.. guess your click bait is working 😂😂😂

It was a generalization talking about “not dieting.” Hence the pancakes and the actual text in the thumbnail.

It's not like he is promoting Snickers bars. But it does come down to integrity...
