    Dear Thomas, the new studies might suggest a potential cause of insulin resistance.
    But, eating fats and proteins BEFORE any CARBS, and EXERCISING after eating, has been a long time practice of diabetics to control their situation!

    Still waiting for someone to look at increased EMF exposure for one of the major contributors to things like impaired FAO. Also, the late, great Dr Ray Peat found that the Randle cycle (which is more of an effect than a cycle) was overcome when consuming more carbs.

      @@dilettanter Type 3 diabetes is what I've heard Alzheimer's called, not emf exposure. But too much exposure to emfs can definitely impair mitochondrial function, and that's just the tup of the iceberg. This is why I don't use a cell phone anymore, have hard-wired internet at home and never use wifi or cordless/bluetooth anything. Just ditching the cell phone, I noticed a really big, positive shift within 24 hours, and kept feeling those positive changes for weeks after doing it.

    • @Philusteen
      @Philusteen 40 хвилин тому +3

      Honestly you need to watch some of Ben Bikman's content on the Insulin IQ channel. Your blood sugar does a moonshot because after a while your body just doesn't keep much insulin lying around; so a keto / carnivore will actually fail a glucose test. The simple fix, if you're taking an oral glucose test, or if you are aiming towards a more-carb moment (like a holiday, perhaps) is the day before, have a small amount of carbs. Your eyelet cells will respond and start making more insulin as long as you're functioning properly. It's not "chronic insulin resistance," it's just a matter of signaling your system to prep for incoming carbs.

    Thomas, please stop telling us where a study was published - we don’t care! What we DO care about is knowing WHO PAID for the study, which you consistently refused to inform us! Knowing who paid for a study is 100 times more important than where it was published, since any rational person knows that money talks and influences the researchers. You should also inform your audience that many companies that pay for research studies put a clause in the contract, that if study is not favorable to outcome they want, the researchers are NOT allowed to publish the outcome of the study. So, PLEASE be transparent and help your audience by informing us who is paying for these studies!

    Robert Lustig says 1 gram of fructose will create and store more fat than any other substance including fat which has twice the calories. How we metabolize food is more meaningful than caloric content. Wood has glucose and calories, but eating wood does not provide fuel for humans.

    • @monnoo8221
      @monnoo8221 51 хвилина тому

      therefore fructose is not a fod, at least not primarily. Dr. Richard Johnson has a great talk abou fructs on YT, and is more on the scientific side, less political than Lustig, and contributed more. Yet, I have a small extension to his work, as a biolgist. Fructose is basically an environmental, eco-physiological hormone, linking seasonal food, the season itself and animal physiology.
      bw, calories have been defined not as a chemical measure, but as a physiological one, and includes the concept of "usable", back in the 19th century. Biological bodies are not calorimeters.

    Is it just me, or are these studies getting harder and harder to understand?
    I just follow two golden rules: 1) Don't over eat, and 2) Stay active.... if a person maintains a healthy bodyweight and and follows those two rules, the chance of developing insulin resistance is greatly decreased. However, it's obviously still worth studying mechanisms, and I'm sure that trans-fat - evil incarnate - is going to be confirmed as a main culprit at some point. I mean, there's a reason that laboratory mice are fed high fat diets to induce diabetes, not high-carb diets, and that is probably because this increases the effective saturation of trans-fats at a certain level for a prolonged period sufficient to kick start the insulin resistance.

      I was shocked when I noticed something on my weekly Saturday shopping session with my father buying a pound of sugar which he did every week. This was not my household but his and I went along just to spend time. When I asked him how he went thru a pound of sugar a week between his mom, his wife and himself, he said its only his mothers as he and his wife eat very healthy. I was shocked that my grandma consumed a pound of sugar every week by herself for decades. She died at 103 and pretty darn healthy thru her nineties!
      2 or so decades later and I was posting this in another channel and actually did the math. Sugar in one lb sugar is 454gms which you breakdown over 7 days yields 64gms sugar per day from a bag of sugar a week netting you about 1-20oz Pepsi per day aka its not much in grand scheme!

During the one meal a day / Multi day fast my blood sugar will be 110 - 124 which not super happy but in the green with out medication. If I do intermittent fast 2 meal my blood sugar will be 140 - 149. Now I have lost 15 lbs so far doing one meal a day plus gym 7 days a week so I'm not disappointed with the results but I want my blood sugar to be more stable to introduce more food for muscle building. Yes. Do 2 meals a day 1st one on breakfast like eggs and prosciutto cooked in EVOO. Very low carb, higher healthy fats and proteins. 2nd meal lighter with large lowest carb vegetable salad preferably organic if possible with EVOO and 4 - 6 oz. meat protein, drink seltzer to fill u up(no flavorings or salt or anything in it. )With breakfast have 1 caffeinated mug of coffee or well steeped tea( organic “choice” brand earl grey with bergamot and 1 or 2 pkts stevia/ Erythritol ( or use Allulose, or xylitol, or monk fruit) PUT 1 tablespoon of MCT IN THE COFFEE OR TEA IN THE AM. After your 2nd meal have an herbal organic NON caffeinated tea with one tblsp of MCT oil with no sugar sweetener of choice. Daily if possible do Intermittent Fasting after 2nd meal until breakfast at least 16 hours. Start walking daily if possible and try to work up to an hour and at a pace u can working up to which is at as fast as reasonable for you. When I walk I bring my cellphone attachéd to an auxiliary battery in a Fanny pack using 2 rubber bands to hold phone in place so speaker faces out of the Fanny pack and secures the phone. Find a list of songs/ videos that make you want to dance and save to watch later to access them more easily. When u first play them hit the gearforsettings in upper right of the videos’ screen to additional settings, hit and video on loop comes up, hit that. Use the song like a mantra that continually energizes you- like the Chinese call “Chi”. U want songs that if you’re alone in the kitchen you can’t help but move your bootie😂. You will feel the energy in your brain and in your stomach diaphragm. Utilize it for energizing your workouts. Also Amazon’s D- Ribose used by athletes over counter to help energize them for training. Google the Ribose to learn about it how & to take it. Also start chair yoga strengthening exercises ( Google on UA-cam for free) also get rubber bands and weights lighter to start cheap at Walmart. I’ve done all this lost my 40 lbs to goal, significantly reversed my Type 2 diabetes and 1st time in my life All blood test numbers excellent. I’m 70.5. Good luck to u🤩And get the best up to 8 hours sleep you can ( dark cooler room helps a lot).
