This brings back the memory of living there during my studies in the University of Glasgow. I lived in West End, Glasgow. Such a wonderful place with warm-hearted people. Thanks for filming and posting it dude !
Glasgow is a lot more beautiful than most people realise. Very underrated in comparison to Edinburgh. The architecture is extremely interesting and diverse all throughout the city. The grid pattern layout also makes it fairly unique for a UK city. This video only shows the Eastern and southern parts of the city centre as well as the Merchant City. So many other beautiful areas to explore. I look forward to watching your other Glasgow vids.
Hi there Chris, good to receive your message. I quite agree that Glasgow is a lot more beautiful than most people realise and rather underrated. We loved the architecture and the general vibe. I so enjoyed this! I hate walking on the treadmill, but I'm trying to get in shape and sometimes it's too warm or too late in the evening to go for a walk outdoors. I love Scotland and was missing it and this was the perfect virtual walk through a city I love.
Lovely to receive your message Wendy, I'm so pleased you enjoyed having a virtual walk in Glasgow. I have a few more of Scotland here for your next treadmill trip if that's helpful?
Only thing missing was a commentary of what streets you were in or crossing, been a long long time since I was last in Glesga, the only bit I really recognised was George square .
Hiya Tim, we do add captions now and we may well do a commentary in the future, but for now we hoping to bring an 'as close to being there' feel. Thanks for your feedback though, much appreciated.
Fabulous video Living Walks, really enjoyed your route too, would love to have seen more going along Gordon st to Central Station then along St Vincent St and Hope St that have beautiful buildings, but hey you did really well and gave me a virtual tour around town that I was supposed to be back visiting from Sydney for the first time in ten years from the 17th of this month for 3 weeks. Sadly the damn Covid 19 put a stop to that. Hopefully same time next year. Thanks also for the Ashton Lane to Botanic Gardens one too, my usual area when home.
Hi there Paul, good to receive your message. Thanks for the suggestion of going along Gordon st to Central Station, St Vincent St and Hope St. We're not from the city so that's a helpful tip when we return sometime. Ah sorry to hear you were supposed to be back visiting from Sydney - and for the first time in ten years too! Here's to same time next year for you. Glad to have given you a virtual tour in the meantime, albeit not quite the same I'm sure. All the very best to you.
@@LivingWalks Thanks for the reply and although I'm born and bred in the West End of Glasgow I've lived in Sydney for 39 years and used to get back there every second year but not for the past 10 years as I've been going to Japan with my Japanese partner for the past 8 years. Were booked to go to Glasgow via Tokyo and Helsinki on the 15th of May but sadly the damned Covid19 put paid to that for this year, hopefully we can make it next year. Those streets I mentioned plus Sauchiehall St from Charing Cross to Kelvingrove and up through Kelvingrove Park to the stunning Park District with it's fabulous grand architecture and sweeping views over the city. Photographs of the fascinating architecture to be found in and around Park Circus in the West End of Glasgow, Scotland
Loved watching this. It’s my home.. Did you shoot in August? Also was it shot on a Saturday or Sunday morning? Can’t figure out why some of the streets are so quiet but there are buskers around. I’m guessing possibly early on a Saturday
Hi Stephen, it was filmed in late July and I think it was on a Saturday morning. We have a few more here of your lovely Glasgow if you fancy a virtual walk through your city before you take a real one. All the bets to you.
Glasgow is lovely but it surprised me how few people there are walking around the city centre when I went over the weekend. In the evening and during the day. Could happily live there but did feel strange
I had no Idea Glasgow was so very Sexy and European, I went to RSAMD in 1975, and I dont remember any of this... I lived in 8 Huntley Gdns behind the Grovsner hotel... just off Byers rd... glasgow broke my heart, I havent been there since 1983
I know what you mean Overnity, I'm not sure what we expected but in was surpassed and we rather fell in love with it. Thanks for dropping by and I'm glad you enjoyed it, sorry to hear your heart was broken there though.
Living Walks yes, I have one image of it fortunately. I've enjoyed watching the Glasgow videos as I've not been in for four months now... Most Saturday's I would go in for coffee, a read and relax, then out doing street photography. Follow the link to see the image flic.kr/p/siAH76
I plan to visit Glasgow next Friday for the first time in over a year. I will go and see a movie in the afternoon then up to the west end for a meal and a few pints.
5 July 2020, Palermo, Sicily, Italy. 13:14 That mural is so wrong! How did they not think to include Scottish couple Elizabeth Fraser and Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins, the best band in the World? You should make up for that mistake by building 2 statues of them right now!
@@LivingWalks : I was born in a Tenement behind the Royal Infirmary, its not there anymore, but it was a slum, 128 Alexandra Parade, we moved along the Parade to Dennistoun in 1959 and I left in 1966. Last time I was there I was amazed at how great the City was, very European with a Celtic Ray, at least I could find a decent cup of coffee.
How interesting to hear that Andrew. It's good to hear that you've found the changes to be positive ones too. We agree and will certainly be back someday. BTW, we have a few other films of Glasgow here if that grabs you. All the very best to you.
@@LivingWalks The mural you are commenting on is Charles Rennie Macintosh and he is a world famous architect/designer. The bar which is below the mural is The Clutha Bar which was the scene of a very tragic accident. A police helicopter fell from the sky and went through the roof of the bar and killed a lot of people. This was a few years ago. You can find lots of information online about both of these things i mentioned.
Thank you so much for this @@wullymc1, and for introducing Charles Rennie Macintosh to those who are not familiar with him. Such an important and influential figure in so many ways. All things considered, the city's not doing too badly by the looks of it. This being home of the Glasgow kiss (headbutt) and Glasgow shower (spray of deodorant) after all.
I'm from just outside Glasgow and never heard of a Glasgow shower but there is the Glasgow smile, Glasgow trademark and the Glasgow send off all of what u wouldn't want lol
And you also walked past the place where a rogue bin lorry killed six people a year later. In an almost exact reenactment of a scene from World War Z. As in the actual scene was filmed there four years before the accident. I mean crikey, what if you escaped being pancaked by a helicopter crashing into your bar stool, only to be killed by a chance re-enactment of a particularly crap zombie movie.
People dont know what there are missing all these lovely big stores in the 1950-1960s now gone like Wylie and Lockheads ,shopping not much fun with beggars and noisy buskers ,shops full of cheap junk nowadays.

Very beautiful place on the way. It very beautiful city.
We agree RLC, have you seen Edinburgh too, we have a few video's there you might like to explore?
Only thing missing was a commentary of what streets you were in or crossing, been a long long time since I was last in Glesga, the only bit I really recognised was George square .
Hiya Tim, we do add captions now and we may well do a commentary in the future, but for now we hoping to bring an 'as close to being there' feel. Thanks for your feedback though, much appreciated.
I love Scotland
Me too A.
A man deeply in love perhaps?
think i saw Jack and Victor there on a bench near the end. What a pair!!
Oh ha ha, is that so Ajam, We’ll have to take another look.
This is a great walking tour! Love the magnificent views of Glasgow city 😄 new friend here 🔔💖 full support, big like 👍
Hi there new friend, good to hear from you. We'll pop by to your channel sometime to say hello.
You should walk through Glasgow's west end.
Hi Dog's opinion, ah we'll be back next year for more and certainly will. There's just so much more to film. Thanks for the suggestion.
West end Is the best end, Some might say like myself in a roundabout way >
There's more to Glasgow than the West End, theres beauty throughout the city's entirety.
Glasgow is lovely but it surprised me how few people there are walking around the city centre when I went over the weekend. In the evening and during the day. Could happily live there but did feel strange
How interesting to hear that CH, I guess people are still not going out and about so much. Quite agree though, it's a very livable city.
nice walk thnks
Glad you enjoyed it, all the best.
That yellow American taxi was used in the Brad Pitt film world war Z filmed here in glasgow
Oh thanks for the insight Joshua, we didn't know that. All the best to you.
Naw it wiznae,it wiz the wan superman climbed

You should show off the Mitchell Library and the places around it
Ah, we'll just have to return and do that. thanks for the tip.
2019 is like another planet.
ah indeed it is. What a varied and interesting channel you have btw. All the best with it!
@@LivingWalks Yeah, I haven't really landed on a channel focus yet. I was just trying different things.
i love the city
Quite agree DC, thanks for dropping by to let us know. All the best to you.
thanks for the video, but I wanna ask, when was this video taken? was it on the weekend or weekday? thanks again!;)
Hi there Keisha, thanks for your message. Erm, good point, I think it may have been a Friday but not sure I can remember. Sorry about that.
Thanks you very much. Glasgow i nice city my from is morroco
You are really welcome friend
@@LivingWalks you are really welcome top...in morrocco rabat.
awesome awesome great work ..carry on plz
Many thanks Abhijeet, we hope to do so!
Hi ! Great video! Do you remember what day and time this was shot at? Was it just a normal working day afternoon?
Hi Frango, that's right it was a normal working day, from memory a Thursday or Friday afternoon. All the best to you.
Living Walks thanks for getting back to me!
Just like any other city buildings and shops
Ah well we rather enjoyed the vibe. All the best to you mate.
Near the end, the building with the puppets opposite the city chambers was demolished... A while ago.
Hi Mac Jim, we must have captured it just before that then!
Best City in the world, just saying.
Can quite see why you feel that way, we very much enjoyed it. More of the city on the site if you do feel like taking a look?
I'm Glaswegian that's why. lol
Good to feel that about your city eh?
5 July 2020, Palermo, Sicily, Italy.
13:14 That mural is so wrong! How did they not think to include Scottish couple Elizabeth Fraser and Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins, the best band in the World?
You should make up for that mistake by building 2 statues of them right now!
Ah Benedetto, I wouldn't be surprised if there's some street art including them somewhere in the city!
I wish i live there with my family
We certainly like it Rana
It sure is a much better City than the Glasgow I was born in 1948 and left in 1966.
Interesting to hear that Andrew, have you been back much?
@@LivingWalks : Never went back for decades and since the 1980s I have been there three times, once for a funeral.
Hope you get to return in happier circumstances sometime and enjoy the changes. We certainly found it an enjoyable city. Thanks for connecting Andrew.
Thank that beautiful man at 14:05
Yes it's quite stunning isn't it. What a creative city.
My brother who is an architect introduced me to him at a young age and I find him really very special and unique. All the very best to you. You are very fortunate to live in such a special city.
super video
Thanks for dropping by. Sorry about the late reply btw, I've just discovered you in my junk mail for some reason.
You should walk thru easterhouse
Oh? tell me more Aaron?
nice city
Hi Roshana, ah I do agree!
Solid Victorian buildings, urbane, safe and litter free environment. What more do you want.
Ah quite so Anthony, a grand city!
is it possible to use a couple of minutes for a non-commercial film please ?
Hi there inner space. So sorry to have to say no. We have a commercial agreement with the footage, so we’re unable to give it out otherwise. Best of luck, I do hope you find some footage that’ll do the trick. so sorry we couldn’t be more helpful. All the best.

Powodzenia :-)
Dzięki za myśli, może się to zdarzyć pewnego dnia, ale na razie są to po prostu spokojne (naturalny dźwięk) spacery. Wszystkiego najlepszego
Nice walk
Thank you Ross, pleased you enjoyed it and thanks for connecting.
Wee shame that at 7.40 you did not walk a bit along to “La Pasionaria”. Small bit of Glasgow history that few know about.
Ah what a shame we didn't know... perhaps next visit? Thanks for dropping by.
SUPER
Thank you Patamata.
All things considered, the city's not doing too badly by the looks of it. This being home of the Glasgow kiss (headbutt) and Glasgow shower (spray of deodorant) after all.
Ha ha, never heard of the 'Glasgow shower' 4KE, oh dear good to see there's an arty side too to level it out.
Glasgow shower? Never heard of it in my life!
I'm from just outside Glasgow and never heard of a Glasgow shower but there is the Glasgow smile, Glasgow trademark and the Glasgow send off all of what u wouldn't want lol
Very very different from the 1970s
I can quite imaging so Billy Boy!
See the Clutha Bar you walked past there was a horrendous accident were a helicopter crashed into the building killing innocent ppl 😢
Good grief Joshua, I didn't know that either what a sad tale. Are you from the city?
Was a police helicopter, fell out the sky with engine failure on top of the pub killing I think 10 people.
I'd loved to have experienced those lovely old stores Tommy.

Thanks for dropping by ZS.
Christ it’s weird seeing life before C¥€$§D I’m getting anxious watching the lack of masks and social distancing. Great video👍🏽

Yes it's rather a quiet day in Glasgow. Not always so I'm sure.
Hello sir I want to do master degree of law from Glasgow university. What is scope of this in UK? Is this helpful to settle in UK? Pls reply.

Except the last minutes showing noble buildings, the rest of the places were horrible. But your work was brilliant. Sorry for my poor English
Oh ha ha, well pleased you enjoy the channel anyway!
It was great to watch your walk as I've only ever been to Glasgow once and that was for on overnight to see a concert at SECC. I'm afraid we only really saw Sauchiehall Street and the riverside walk so it was great to see more. I have subscribed, please have a look at my channel which features a number of tours & city walks.
Hi DT, good to hear from you. Thank you for taking the time to comment. Pleased you enjoyed it and we quite agree it's a great place and we'd love to see more too. We plenty more stored and ready to upload and hope you do too. I'll certainly drop by to your channel. All the best to you.

Sadly some parts are as ugly as Manchester
Ah I guess most cities have there good and bad bits. All the best.
Ugly modern buildings with buildings adorned with horrible street art.
One thing you WILL find (not like when I was younger) people WILL, and do, walk STRAIGHT AT YOU, and expect YOU to move, even though they went out of their way to do so. NOBODY watches where the hell they're going. But then, nowadays there is a general lack of manners everywhere.
Sorry you've found that so John.
Same thing happens in the usa when you walk between illegal immigrants from Mexico.
Straight off the bat your getting eyeballed by everyone
Ah we tried our best to be discreet :)
