Most people say that Metallica went mainstream way before this came out. I personally don't believe they ever went mainstream. I think they've always done what they wanted and that's why I love 'em. But Bob Rock was still with them up until about 3 maybe 4 years ago... he produced this record!

i don't believe that a bassist should be better than another one they all got something unique that's good, cliff was awsome, jason was too but he had wonderful vocals, and now rob he's realy good too they are all awsome and they'll always be a part of metallica (best band ever) :)
whatever you say about the OLD 'tallica, I really like the direction they went on Some Kindo Of Monster. Pretty dirty sound, garage-like drums and freakin' vocals. HOWEVER - my biggest dream is a connection between Load/Reload and S.K.O.M. ... and James is a god as always :P
I really wish James' singing today was as good as then... still it's almost 10 years since that concert and it's reasonable that his vocals have changed. I think that Metallica were at their peak in 1989 (ONLY concerning overall concert efficiency). I still love them though, and I hope they'll go on forever.
first time ive seen this song live,i like it................by the way both jason and robert are kick ass bass players,I loved it when jason used to sing parts of seek and destroy,whiplash and creeping death but give rob some time,he'll do it too.............
