If you get married with a Vietnamese person or have Vietnamese citizenship and you have a healthy marriage. You can make build a house that has what that 3000 USD a month place has for 120-200k USD if you buy land just outside of major city centers or similar . You can't always trust gated communities. Most are for theater if you know, you know anyways. I married a doctor from Vietnam and we just build a house sort of like that on land she owned that she bought 5 yrs before we met outside of HCMC, we are very happy together ( She owned 4 properties there ranging from 40- 120k USD, we picked the one that made the most sense for us) . This house we built would cost me over 2.4-3 million in Los Angeles where I am from. Just food for thought if you want to build a family there, 3000 a month seems like a bit much. At the rate if security is a concern I could just pay for on site security whenever we're not home for more then a day or have two guys as security to split the week in half play them 300-400 a piece a month. I have a guest 2 bedroom guest house, I can even throw that in and play them less and have them someone keeping a eye out for my interests. I got everything like the pool and sauna, just don't have a tennis court or football court but I care for neither.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I agree with everything you said. Hope I can buy a plot of land here someday. The 3000/mo place definitely is not worth it
Great work editing and informing. I’m coming next year. I’d be glad to see more videos of hotels we could stay for a month. 2- I also hear about Da Nang Karaoke and Construction noise issue. Great video. I would have loved to see more of what the range of options for single bedroom apartments are. I'm going with my wife for our honeymoon for about a month. The $380 apartment wasn't exactly what I'm looking for, but I'm also not looking to pay for extra bedrooms / space I don't need.

Travis, can u recommend a area in Da Nang for a family with 4 kids that can run around a little bit, aged 2,6,8 and 13. Ty! Keep up the good work, love your contens
This is exactly the video I needed to get a gauge of the different price points. I wish Da Nang had more modern high rise apartments like Saigon. Seems like the upper end for Da Nang is mostly villas.
I think there is more in the $800-1000 range, I wish I could have toured something but the agent said a lot of nice places in that range are getting rented very quickly.
@@TravisTravelsVN Thanks that's good to know. Sounds like more foreigners are coming in at that price range and there's not too much supply. Most of the place 1k+ seem like condotels and for me I dont think those would feel like a home.
Another banging video bud. Thank you, watching your videos from the wet and cold UK, making me really excited to get over there. Any advice on sites to check out longer term rentals or is air bnb a safe bet? Thanks again!
Websites are generally not accurate or updated well. Airbnb is a decent option for a month or less. Anything more I think you should contact a local agent to try to properly rent a place. I put the contact info of the agent in the description if you want to message him for options. The market changes so quickly you only need to worry about looking for a place within a few weeks of arriving.
Awesome video Travis!!! I've been waiting for this video from you! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. I have a few questions that I can also ask Tony, the realtor, but I would like your take on it first. When you get a chance and if you know the answers to any/all of these questions, please let me know. Thanks! 1) Are the prices in the video for furnished or unfurnished apartments? If unfurnished, do the furniture stores there also have Delivery + Setup services, and how much do they charge for that? 2) What is the average response time for maintenance in case something breaks down in the apartment? 3) I'm interested in the 3 bedroom apartment, but since I'm traveling alone, am I allowed to rent out the other 2 bedrooms to anyone I want without having to inform the landlord? 4) Do they sell 75" and 85" smart TVs over there? If not, then what is the largest size TV they have over there? I'm a bit spoiled and used to a certain style of living. 5) Do they sell large 49" curved monitors in Da Nang? If yes, what is the price range? If no and I have to ship my monitors to Vietnam, how safe is it to do so without it being stolen or confiscated? Any recommendations/advice for shipping large and expensive items is appreciated. 6) I want to live in a building where a bunch of restaurants, supermarkets, and convenient stores are within a couple blocks of walking distance. Which apartment building do you recommend? 7) Would you please recommend a visa agent? If and when I make it to Da Nang, our first coffee, breakfast, lunch, and dinner are on me. Thanks again for making this awesome video! You're the best Travis! 😀
What's your budget? I think you'll be able to find something I wouldn't worry too much. Plan to stay in a hotel the first few days and have a look around at a few places. Keep in touch and send me a message before you are arriving
I'd love to pop off a few questions. I'm seriously thinking of moving up. I'm in Bali now. I have found a place out side of the busy areas and it's cheaper than what I pay for my room here.
Thank you. I'm actually looking forward to the Vietnamese-style bed. It would seem that air conditioning is from Mini-Spit air units. Are there pickleball courts? :) No family...Yaaaa. :)
Eh I don't know about the vietnamese beds you might as well be on a wooden plank haha. Yes AC is always from individual units in each room but it works just fine. Definitely pickleball courts I've been seeing a lot of posts about it on the local fb groups

Hello 👋. Great Video . Are there scams to watch out for when renting , like landlords renting apartments to more than one tenant at a time . Or people renting apartments that aren’t really there’s to rent . Or landlords not fixing things . Is it common To have a lawyer look over the paperwork before signing it ? I mean you put out 6 months rent at once . But m sure you trusted the people you were dealing with . Thank you 😊
Not too many scams like that. I've never had a problem with a contract or landlords. The lease is always in both languages when you sign, and everything pretty straightforward.
Maybe I'm out of touch as the value of a dollar has shifted hard in recent years but from what I've seen all these prices seem off by about +100-150USD.. for Da Nang, but maybe the gentrification is going hard out there? Idk, Americans often get an extra tax just for being American but since you speak Vietnamese and date a local (I think) I'd imagine you can avoid that, my friends have been able to get places like these for quite a bit cheaper in the past, it surprised me finding out their rents, but it's been a few years since I was out that way.. Always really well made, engaging but to the point videos, cheers.
The prices have gone up a bit. But these are the listing prices, with a little negotiation you would get at least 1-2 million down so about ($40-80) less and even more for long term contract

Hey travis, i am interested in moving permanently to danang. Can you suggest ways to do so and how to earn money after shifting to meet my family expenses? Waiting for your reply
Most foreigners are teachers. Besides that it is difficult to work full time in Vietnam. If you have initial capital you can open a business. Lots of bars/restaurants owned by foreigners.
Hey! I am planning on moving ftom here in Chicago(Born and raised) to Da Nang in the next few months. I'll be looking for a nice 1-bedroom around $600/month USD. Do landlords typically require the standard first month/last month? OR First month/last month +Security Deposit? Also, what is the name and # of the real estate guy you mentioned in this video? Thank you so much!
Typically first month rent and 1 month security deposit. Join my travel group I'll connect you with the agent and have all the info you need for moving. www.skool.com/travel-vietnam/about
You all are about to do the same thing to Vietnam you all did to Mexico. The price will be up before we know it. How many Vietnamese locals can actually afford it, If the locals cannot afford it; it's not affordable. Stop taking our standards that we're running from here the only standard because it's not apples and apples. Compare it to any other country in the same GDP category and tell me if it's affordable.
Hey travis , I'm from Australia looking to relocate. Is there any kid of online work I can do in Vietnam or do I need to save alot first ? Going through alot of your videos. Enjoy them alot.
Its a little tricky, I think you are technically not supposed to earn an income while on a tourist visa but I think a lot of people are doing that. I'm just focused on YT for now and will have to figure that out when I actually earn some money.
Hey man, just wondering, what do you do to afford this? The prices in Vietnam are low but so are the wages. Would be interesting to know where you get the money from, other than savings from work in your home country.
Anyone able to give me a brief run down on how “making money online via your online business” while living In Vietnam works? I won’t be doing any physical work of course, it will all be on my laptop collection from my website. Thank you 🙂

I enjoy these videos man. They’ve helped move Da Nang up to the top couple of my destinations for remote work starting later this year. But the below is what’s holding me up about Vietnam… It might not be the flashiest topic, but it’d be great to hear something about different types of visas and ways to stay. I understand that Vietnam decreased the US tourist visa from 3 to 1 month, which makes that avenue lot less feasible. It seems like Vietnam is now intentionally making remote working there more difficult post-pandemic. @travistravelsvietnam

as a fellow youtuber, I would recommend tweaking this title a bit for virality's sake. Maybe $300 vs $3000 Apartments in Vietnam, something like that.either way, love the video travis, I'm definitely considering moving to vietnam some day because of you!
Thanks for the feedback you're probably right about the title
Should I use an agent to help me to find an apt. In DaNang. I will arrive to DaNang on January 3, 2025 . I rent a hotel room for six nights. I am looking for one studio in An Thuong area. I wii be in DaNang for three months. Does it will be better to use an agent. Thanks.
Yes send me a message when you arrive I'll connect you with an agent. Everything comes and goes quickly so you can only start looking when you arrive. Youll find something in just a few days
they require to rent for a month or 3 months etc? what is requirement? can i rent for half a month?
3 months is preferred. There are a few options for monthly rentals but for 2 weeks you should just stay in a hotel
@@TravisTravelsVN Thank you👍
Great
How safe is Vietnam and how stable is the government of Vietnam- lately Thailand has had some unstable conditions with the government and people always recommended going to Thailand- so any major coups coming up in VN ?
How do you pay rent. Do you use your debit card, cash, or electronic transfer?
cash or bank transfer
How give names of apartment
What website do you recommend for searching apartments in Da Nang? Which one is trusted?
Websites are not really accurate or updated. I put the housing agent contact info in the description, you should email him.
Hey man, just wondering, what do you do to afford this? The prices in Vietnam are low but so are the wages. Would be interesting to know where you get the money from, other than savings from work in your home country.
I had good job in VN for 4 years before taking a break. I have savings from 10 years working.
Is there a minimum number of days you have to leave Vietnam for before returning to renew the visa
You can use a visa agent to get the new visa back the same day you leave
Is electricity including in the prices you give, or is there others bills you have to pay when you rent?
Generally electricity is extra, it works out to about $50 per month for me at the highest using lots of AC. Wifi is about $8 per month.
@@TravisTravelsVN Ok, good to Know, thanks for the answer 👍🏻
Anyone able to give me a brief run down on how “making money online via your online business” while living In Vietnam works? I won’t be doing any physical work of course, it will all be on my laptop collection from my website. Thank you 🙂
Are there any condos with massive resort style pools like in Thailand?
There are plenty of condos and apt with decent pools, but nothing resort style that I know of
These are beautiful but 3 times the mentioned price upon checking.
Really? which place?
@@TravisTravelsVN The first place.
Ya that's crazy. There's plenty of good options for cheap. Are you in DN yet? Need to see places in person and negotiate.
@@TravisTravelsVN Yes I’m in Da Nang and moving to Hoi A tomorrow, for more tranquility.
👍😎👍
Very nice video sharing my friend
Thanks for watching!
Hey mate, need a visa for Vietnam urgently. Can you please send me through your agents details? Thank you
Are you from Chicago? I see Chicago art in the wall
Yes born and raised until 18 years old
yo travis the volume in this one is pretty low
Man I noticed that when I first posted. It seems to be normal now? Not sure the deal but thanks for the heads up.
Hey, could you please provide Tony Lum's contact details? I'm moving in December and it would be great to have his details. Thanks for the video, was really helpful!
In the video description. I also have a travel group if you want to join I can help you get set up when you move. www.skool.com/travel-vietnam/about

What jobs are out there .
For you none, prohibited unless you have a Business Visa.
@@tradeladder146 understand that. I think you missed my question. What jobs / careers are over there and pay. To understand the difference between the us 🇺🇸 and vietnam 🇻🇳.
Most foreigners are teachers and there are a lot of bars/restaurants that are foreign owned.
@@TravisTravelsVN thank you for the insight
Ur ears bro...
Now see there -- I'm a minimalist frugal guy -- and you show people like me... NOTHING ! --- Oh - you simply 'mention' there are studios for around $250 -- but 'show' nothing --&-- THOSE are what I want to see !!! --- Cheap to rent easy to clean - and - cheap to cool -?- is what many of us frugal expats - and those on very tight budgets - actually want and/or need !?! --- Not the extravagant wasteful choices only. 🤔
are there cockroaches there?
In general yes, but not terrible. I've never had in my house.
I enjoy these videos man. They’ve helped move Da Nang up to the top couple of my destinations for remote work starting later this year. But the below is what’s holding me up about Vietnam…
It might not be the flashiest topic, but it’d be great to hear something about different types of visas and ways to stay. I understand that Vietnam decreased the US tourist visa from 3 to 1 month, which makes that avenue lot less feasible. It seems like Vietnam is now intentionally making remote working there more difficult post-pandemic. @travistravelsvietnam
Visa is 3 months for everyone. Its not ideal but I've been managing it for a while now. I've got a couple videos about visa stuff. Lots of people here working remote.
@@TravisTravelsVN you had to do visa run, right?
Yé
@@TravisTravelsVN Yesss, I realized I was mistaken about that yesterday. I’ll look into those videos, thanks man - enjoying these videos a lot. Kinda selling me on Da Nang. If I come to stay I’ll send ya a message and I owe you lunch 😅💯 (any leads of folks to talk to re. renting, agencies, etc. outside of going the Airbnb route? DM okay ofc if preferable)
