Ms. Gretchen if you have enough of the parquet flooring to go around the perimeter of the room, you could fill in the middle with a different flooring. The different flooring could be covered by one of your lovely rugs. In older homes to save money, it was very common to only use the expensive flooring around the room perimeter and use a lesser wood like unfinished pine . The pine would be covered by a rug or carpet.

I'm in the process of renovating a Real Good Toys Princess Anne dollhouse. I bought it secondhand. You aren't kidding about the back and forth! I was a little surprised at how much of that has to happen when renovating. It's unavoidable. I got a free piece of wallpaper from my local dollhouse store. It was about 12 inches square. I loved it so much that I was determined to use it in my house. I ended up using it on 2 tiny walls in the attic of my house. You're not going to believe it, but it was the same pink stripe that you used in your attic room! I adore that paper. So old fashioned. ❤

Doll houses or people houses are most certainly not square! Aunt Shirley’s house is true to form. You get a new house and you make a list of a few things and then out of nowhere the porch breaks and the roof leaks! I can’t tell you how many little things that needed to be fixed was just the tip of the iceberg…
your antique dollhouse is very sturdy with strong bones 🦴 such a blessing to inherit a wonderfully made dollhouse, and you’re doing an excellent job, restoring the doll house treating it with tender, loving care, and I also appreciate how you show when you make a mistake you show us how you solve it , because not everything is going to be perfect sometimes we make mistakes thank you for your transparency and your beautiful heart, you make me want to go and renovate my nieces dollhouse every time I watch a Videos I think about going over there to narco and California and renovate her dolls just because , she told her mom that spiders got into her house and my mind quickly. I want to go over there and fix and solve the problem but of course I didn’t not invade my nieces territory. Regarding the overwhelmed part now I love this so much I never get overwhelmed. But I do have times where I have to wait for my inspiration. It comes in flows. When I get a vision for something and l to exhaust the ideas for that vision. Then PLAY with THINGS for a while to get the next VISION! TO ME THAT'S WHY "PLAYING" IS SO IMPORTANT!! There's a world of imagination locked inside of "PLAYING".......💖💖💖💖😊☺️😊
A few years ago, I bought some wood slat table placemats and they worked awesome for wood flooring. Stained already and everything. I just went on Amazon to check if they are still available and they had quite a few. Bamboo ones looked like nice as flooring too.

And I also had a little stool that I purchased from the estate sale where the seating looked like placemat material! It really shows how you can find wonderful supplies for your miniature making almost anywhere! You just have to have a well developed "MINIATURIST EYE to see it!💖💖💖💖☺️😃

You had a few unexpected mishaps but it all worked out well. I knew a man that built his house and locked himself out on a very high unrailed porch, he had cellphone and still took hours before anyone looked at their phone.
Got mistakes happen! But I've learned not to stress just keep going and just focus on one thing at a time. Oh my goodness 😮😳🤭to get locked on the porch for hours 💖💖💖💖💖🤭😀☺️

As soon as I get my channel up, you will be one of the first to know❤️❤️ The family issue directly affected video creation, but I know it will happen at the appointed and perfect time. I'm really loving Aunt Shirley's House!!! I don't think there's anyone else who would be a better overseer for such a special house. I'm so excited to see what all you have in-store for the house and the next, new additions to the Doll community. The upcoming newlyweds will need somewhere to live and the new babies are going to add to an already busting at the seams house😳😂. In my humble opinion, I say the more the merrier! I love that all the houses are multigenerational and they are all vested in the growth and happiness of one another's lives. Everyone is accountable and responsible and cares. Wouldn't it be nice if we yet lived in a time when the world was a smaller, kinder place ❤️

That foam board is amazing, it saved me countless times in my building and installing! Loving this house :)

You had a few unexpected mishaps but it all worked out well. I knew a man that built his house and locked himself out on a very high unrailed porch, he had cellphone and still took hours before anyone looked at their phone.
Got mistakes happen! But I've learned not to stress just keep going and just focus on one thing at a time. Oh my goodness 😮😳🤭to get locked on the porch for hours 💖💖💖💖💖🤭😀☺️
Hohboy!! 😂 I've seen some REALLY "innovative" and "creative" solutions in some of the real life houses I've renovated 🤦♀️😖! I'm certain the convo that took place when those creative decisions were made most certainly included, "that's a problem for future owners" 😂😂 I'm loving Aunt Shirley's house and I know the dress shop is going to be bigger and better than ever!! Margarite and Saudi will certainly be surprised when they return from their honeymoon to new spaces!!

As soon as I get my channel up, you will be one of the first to know❤️❤️ The family issue directly affected video creation, but I know it will happen at the appointed and perfect time. I'm really loving Aunt Shirley's House!!! I don't think there's anyone else who would be a better overseer for such a special house. I'm so excited to see what all you have in-store for the house and the next, new additions to the Doll community. The upcoming newlyweds will need somewhere to live and the new babies are going to add to an already busting at the seams house😳😂. In my humble opinion, I say the more the merrier! I love that all the houses are multigenerational and they are all vested in the growth and happiness of one another's lives. Everyone is accountable and responsible and cares. Wouldn't it be nice if we yet lived in a time when the world was a smaller, kinder place ❤️
