Hello to my sweet friend Gretchen! Oh my word they are Absolutely Adorable. You always do such Beautiful things. You are definitely good at what you do. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. So until next time God Bless you and your family and have a Blessed evening and stay safe my dear and Special Friend. ❤❤❤
When I saw the thumbnail, I thought the video was about some veggie vendor..as in, it looked real. Then when I saw that is was Little Gretchen’s Workshop video, I clicked FAST! Superb job! Thanks for sharing how to make these! I need to stop watching at night just before I go to bed because I always feel inspired to get up and start crafting. 😊
Hello Gretchen, thank you for explaining how to make the fruit and vegetables with polymer clay, they all look amazing in the crates. Your dolls are going to be well fed this autumn/winter. Have a great rest of the week. Best Wishes from Yorkshire, England 🇬🇧 😊
Those vegetables all came out fantastic! I once made a tray of some vegetables. I don't remember what all was on the tray, except potatoes, greenbeans, and corn on the cob. The greenbeans were too long, but the potatoes came out pretty good. But that corn on the cob was the jewel in my crown! LOL I wish it wasn't stuck in storage in California! I love fried green tomatoes! I like to fry them with a jalapeño for a little extra zip. Yum!
These are so cute, and just perfect for this time of year. I am not doing much preserving this year, but my dolls are! I hope my apples are good enough but yours are just wonderful...good enough to eat!
oh my what a wounder I am very new to the miniature world, and have embarked on making a house in an old clock frame, so trying very hard on a budget and using what i have around the house/garden. Your comment about making fruits and veges not being perfect, was so perfect for me as i have just made some for a pot of stew or soup i have on my stove. love love love all the insperation i am getting from your chanel
I'm so glad to hear this Heidi!!!! I truly feel like that's why l here! To make those have a passion for Miniatures don't feel like they need expensive materials or need to be a Master Artisan to Enjoy this!😃💖💖💖💖Thank You for letting me know you "HEAR" me!
Amazing work with the crates and veggies and fruits. I'm not as good as you yet but as you say practice practice practice. I haven't started my channel yet. Still have a few little things to organise first but getting close . Again great work I love love your video 😊😊
Howdy Lady Gretchen, I hope you and yours are well. OMGoodness, these are so darn cute. I loved watching you make these last night. I get what you mean about polymer vs air dry. I still have a few sealed packages of polymer from days gone by. But, past few years I picked up air dry clay with moulds. But, now I want to make some potatoes ... hehehehe Thanks so much for sharing, and that book does look like a winner. Have a great day.
Such great tips Gretchen your such a wealth of ideas and info. Thank you for being such a wonderful doll ❤ these all came out too cute love those carrots
I paused the video when you showed the book and went over to Amazon. They had a copy!! Yay, I can't wait to look through it. Your fruits and veggies turned out great! ❤
Wonderful, fabulous …and yummy looking! So realistic, dirt included, of course! Fried green tomatoes …such a family favorite here! Another favorite - bacon and tomato sandwiches! Ahhh -- fresh tomatoes from the garden. My mon used to make homemade ketchup - it took soooooo many tomatoes and soooooo much time! But it was amazing in taste! Tomatoes - any way, any how - I love them!!!! Like the song says ….there are only 2 things that money can’t buy …and that’s true love and homegrown tomatoes!!! I have same book you shared! I too, love looking at the photos! Such inspirations! Love your video! Many thanks! Kathleen ❤
Hey KATHLEEN!!! 👋😃YES BACON W TOMATOES SANDWICHES ARE ONE OF MY LIFETIME FAVORITES! TOASTED BREAD WITH REAL MAYO!!!! I LIKE TOMATOES SO MUCH I'LL EAT A STRAIGHT TOMATO SANDWICH!!!! BUT PLOT TWIST IS, I DON'T LIKE CATSUP OR TOMATO SAUCE BUT DO LIKE 🌶️ CHILI!!! YES HOME GROWN ARE THE BEST!!! MY GREAT AUNT HAD A BIG GARDEN in the 70s AND THAT'S HOW I FELL IN LOVE WITH THEM!
@@littlegretchensworkshop7665 it’s a cute song! I don’t know who wrote it, but when I was a children’s librarian, we had a great folk musician who would entertain us each summer and he always started his show with that song! I loved it as did everyone who’s ever grown or eaten homegrown ones! I’m sure the song it’s on UA-cam somewhere! Enjoy the week, my friend! ❤️
Great job on the fruits and vegetables! ☺ The shading and "dirt" really makes them come alive. 🥰 I've made some fruit using Play-Dough, and it was very fun. I recently found some polymer clay at the thrift store, but the instructions were missing. I'll just bake it low and slow and keep an eye on it when I'm ready to bake. I have orange, yellow, green, and white, so I have some fruit and veggie options. 🙂
You can always use a heat gun to bake small polymer clay projects too, it's much quicker and less chance of going wrong. If you know the brand of polymer clay you could Google the instructions. But low and slow is definitely a good practice, lol
Great job doll. Lol. If you wanted straw under your vegies. Julie. From little bits and pieces makes straw with little slivers of paper. Cut really thin with her craft knife and mix it up and looks great.
Wow Gretchen, just beautiful fruits and vegetables. I recently bought some polymer clay and made some small pumpkins. You inspire me so much! Love from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦
That Sounds great! I hope you had as much Fun as l did!!!! Working with clay is very relaxing to me! Thank you for letting me know you are enjoying this!😃💖💖💖💖💖
Now the weather is getting cooler I can do some polymer clay things lol! I never had fried green tomatoes but I’ve had pickled green tomatoes it was interesting lol!
Yes I seem to really like to make clay things in the Fall too! I've never had pickled tomatoes! 😃 But Fried is summer time staple! Season THEM like you would fish, dip in egg wash, then coat with corn meal and drop in really hot grease! 😋 THEY ARE WONDERFUL!!💖💖💖
I made my first polymer fruit this past week. I should have watched this first! 😂❤🍌🍎🍊🍑 Thank you for the baby wipes tip!!! I LOVE MINI POTATOES🥔🥔🥔Never gets old 🥰 All your fruits and veggies are deliciously beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
So inspirational!! I have collected so much clay creation stuff but have been so scared to try it!! I think I am ready now! This was great! I will watch again and would love to see more! Great job! And yes and yes on Fried Green Tomatoes!! Reminds me of my Granny in Mississippi with some fish! Oh the memories!
YEAY!!! YES!!! You can do it! Don't afraid about how it looks! It takes practice! I've been making clay stuff for my dollhouses for years. So don't compare just get started! Each try you get a little bit better!!!! But make SURE YOU HAVE FUN!!!!
I have never worked with the clays but my grandsons use it a lot and have become pretty gifted in their miniature crafting with it. I'll have to try some myself lol. I love fried green tomatoes but I cut them in chunks before coating them to fry. That way I can fry them in bigger batches so the first batch isn't ice cold before the last one is done lol.
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful video. You explained each and everything into detail and now I feel ready to make lots of fruits and vegetables for my first time. I made carrots and potatoes so far and was happy but as you said it can take years to make it the way you really want it. I found it so neat that your daddy left you his tools and he knew you'd need them one day. You do such a beautiful job and his tools came in handy. I love your tutorial videos, they help me find my inspiration. Thank you ❤
I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed this! And that my instructions were clear. Definitely make more than you need and save the spares for another project! Because the more you create the more practice you get! Which helps to improve your technique and result! YES I'm so grateful for Daddy for giving me those tools! They help alot! I really appreciate you for letting me know you're enjoying my content I'm so glad you're here!!!💖💖💖💖☺️😀😃
They look amazing! Those dolls are going to be eating very well with all those fruits and veges. Have you tried making corn on the cob too? I can't wait for my gnomehome kitchen to be finished so I can make food to stick in there. Ive never tried fried green tomatoes...seen the movie, but never had the chance to eat them lol
Thank You! I'm Happy with the results! I really enjoy making food items because it adds so much the kitchen and dining rooms!!! I appreciate you for being here 💖☺️💖💖💖
Loved watching this video Gretchen, I haven’t made mini food yet, and never had fried green tomatoes either, l don’t know if that’s something we have here, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
Hey there Julie! They are really good! We get the tomatoes before they get ripe. Really green and firm. Then we slice them up and dip them in egg wash then coat them with seasoned cornmeal. Then fry them in really hot grease like Fish! They are a wonderful summer time treat!!!! ☺️💖💖💖
Why doesn't that surprise me... Fried Green Tomatoes are my favorite appetizer. I always go to a local fish shack on the beach, and they have the best around. Perfect consistency not mushy..they are huge and served with a spicy petal sauce...so so good. They taste best when cooled down. Like tomato sauce.. more flavor. Lol is also one of my favorite movies🤭 I also prefer beefsteak Tom's too and I always get the firm ones..I like to dice them, marinate them in a seasoned olive or sunflower oil and fire roast them in the broiler till they get little charged tips. Sometimes, I add garlic, onions, and bell peppers. Then I use this for sauce and soup bases.😍 Love love love your produce makes and that book is so neat. I would have looked at that book for hours as a kid..😂❤
Hi Gretchen! Can you bake the toothpick with the clay? This might be a silly question, but can we UV light-bake polymer clay? I'm trying to find all the shortcuts already lol
Lololol! Not a silly question at all! Yes you can bake the toothpick with it stuck in the clay. It will be fine! But using UV LIGHT to o bake clay, I've never tried that. I have known artists that bake the clay with Heat gun. But I've never done that either. I would just stick to the instructions on your package for safety sake! AND PLEASE DO NOT PUT POLYMER CLAY IN MICROWAVE OVEN!🚫💖 I hope this helps,😀
I've been working with polymer clay for a few years and never heard of uv baking, I think that's just for uv resin but I could be wrong. I can confirm the heat gun technique works very well for minature polymer clay projects and is much quicker and less faff than the oven. I love a short cut too lol
Absolutely adorable! I was lucky enough to find the book on eBay. Along with another book she wrote on flowers! I scooped them up immediately lol thx for the recommendation. I wonder how long do they last though?
I LOVE the detail that your dad gave you the dental tools & that he was a modeller too! So special. 💛
