This is the first video that I have seen of yours and I just wanted to tell you that you did a fantastic job with the renovation of the dollhouse. I love how you transformed it into a haunted house and the creative use of materials was perfect. The foam bricks, the rooftop addition, the mossy effect, the change in the shutters and flower boxes, the fence, the steps - all great and realistic looking and the best part of all, well proportioned. So many times, crafters start in a miniature format and then add something that is out of proportion, and it just robs the item of its quality.
I love it when people use what they have. As for ideas of what to put in the inside, @BentleyHouseMinis did a whole series of building and furnishing a house from junk, recyclable material that people would have, during the pandemic lockdown. She does marvellous things with corrugated cardboard! I get my creative urges satisfied vicariously by watching people like you so I’m looking forward to the inside of this.
Gotta have a cauldron, of course. Lots of bottles for potions and ingredients, a few spell books, candles/candle chandeliers, fireplace, black cats and black birds. The outside looks great! I'd love a witch windvane on the roof.
I really love what you did with the stone steps. I liked them better before the final look when they were several different colors, but I understand, I’ve overworked things many times. I love how the whole house looks. You created a family heirloom.
I love your transformed dollhouse! I would have put small plastic skull beads instead of white paper roses in the window boxes, though. Love what you did with the yard! My fave is the jack-o-lantern scarecrow!! TFS! ~Janet in Canada
Great transformation Laura, loved how you did the stone work on the steps. The house looks amazing, looking forward to seeing how you do the inside. ❤😊
Brilliant remake! Can't wait to see what you do with the inside! I love everything about this haunted house of yours! And great find of the doll house itself on market place!
First time seeing any of your videos. I love how you transformed the dollhouse into a haunted house. Great job. Can’t wait to see what you do with the inside
So much fun to watch the transformation! The exterior came out so creepy but also realistic, nicely done. Excited to see how you do the interior and subscribed so I don't miss anything! Thanks for sharing and inspiring with your creativity.
Thank you! That sounds so fun. I'm keeping my eye out for other dollhouses I can find or thrift and possibly turn into something like that for a Christmas theme. I'd love to see how yours is going!
So glad your vid popped up into my suggested vids! This looks awesome, I love what you did with it and I totally believe you about having those hinges and handle in your stash lol. As a crafter I know all too well that we do tend to have the most random stuff XD A library with a big cushy chair would be awesome inside it, and of course a witches room with a crystal ball, maybe a black cat hanging out ^^
Hi there - this is the first video I have seen of yours, and it is super clever and creative! I love how you did the brick and cement on the house. I think any witch would love to live there!
Genius just creative genius! Although I would make those roses a little more wilted and gray brown, but other than that I can’t wait to see what you do inside!
Wow! You created a Spooktacular Witche's House🏚 Love the techniques and stash supplies you used, they were very creative. It's my first time watching your channel, I was Not disappointed! I became a subscriber. I'm looking forward to watching your past and future videos. 😊
I can't wait for the next videos. I have this exact house I put together for my daughter 20 years ago and recently decided to make a haunted house out of it. I'm loving your take on it. New subscriber for sure.
This is great, I actually have a similar dollhouse, I may just haul it out and try to make a witches cottage as a side project. I love the subtle colours of the stone steps, the whole house looks great. Yesterday there was a heap of builders garbage outside my block of flats and, there was thin sheets of polystyrene. I thought my other half would have a fit if I brought them home, of course, this morning, this video, I have a similar house, polystyrene gone in the bin lorries. Aahrgh! Typical!😅
I just found your channel! I have this exact doll house I bought from a garage sale for $20 and some furniture and it wasn’t built so I have to build it too and it’s been really fun over the last 5 years! I’m doing the same witches cottage style but it’s a Tudor style and falling apart. Yours turned out so cute!
i was just brought a thrifted dollhouse that was also well loved by my niece and this has given me so many ideas, though mine has a 70s kitchen so i will be going very midcentury modern/cottage-y mushroom 70s but i am for sure using the egg carton idea, thank you ! :) p.s. i can't wait for the inside, subbed
I have watched many videos on creating these witchy cottages and yours is by far one of my favorites!! I’ve watched it a couple of times and am so excited to start another of my own projects. I have to ask, where can I find the little light you added to the front door? And… when is the next video coming out of the inside??? I’m sooo excited!!! Beautiful work!!! 😍
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it :) I got the little lamp by the front door from Hobby Lobby. Online says they're sold out but they had them at my local store. And I'm working on the inside (not much done so far) but I hope to get that video (or series of videos) out before mid October!
This is absolutely awesome in the true sense of the word. I LOVE what you did and the fact that you did it on the cheap too. It looks so realistic. There's not one part of it that I could suggest improving and so many things you did that I never would have thought of. Such a well considered alteration, and wonderfully executed. Any witch would be proud to call that house their hovel! Bravo. One question, where did you get the little light for outside please?
You did a FABULOUS job!!!! What did you use to "mistify" lol the windows? And, what was your problem-solving process for lights inside the house (temperature, kind, placement -- all the things) What was your original source, if you recall, for the little pumpkins? If you get tired of it, gift it to a little girl who's a bit older, maybe lonely or eccentric, w parents who are really struggling but love her. (Or single) You could change a child's life!
Awww, Thank you so much for your kind words! I love that suggestion. To answer some of your questions (hopefully), I put some vellum paper in the windows, and set some battery-powered tea lights inside. I'll have to come up with some little lamps or something when I decorate the inside. The pumpkins, I picked up from Hobby Lobby, they were in a big bag as a 'filler' for vases etc but they were the perfect 1:12 scale size. For the acrylic paints, I have multiple sheens from various tubes/brands, but for anything black, I used a matte sheen or tried to. And I did seal the brick walls and stone steps with matte Mod Podge!

@@aliceincraftland3388 Thank you!!
This is a work of art. You use materials so creatively--egg cartons, styrofoam, foam sheets...
Thank you so much!
Gotta have a cauldron, of course. Lots of bottles for potions and ingredients, a few spell books, candles/candle chandeliers, fireplace, black cats and black birds. The outside looks great! I'd love a witch windvane on the roof.
Yes, Love all those suggestions, Thank you! The wind vane idea sounds super fun, might have to try that.
Best haunted house I’ve seen yet. Simple, yet impressive. My hats off to you.
What a compliment, Thank you!!

Thank you! That's a great idea, might have to add something like that...
I really love what you did with the stone steps. I liked them better before the final look when they were several different colors, but I understand, I’ve overworked things many times. I love how the whole house looks. You created a family heirloom.
