Mexico City is literally one of MY FAVORITE CITIES IN THE WORLD!! & I've been spending 6 months of the year here for awhile & as a 66 years YOUNG solo traveling gal - I've always felt VERY SAFE - but of course I don't go to bad areas, don't get drunk or do drugs, etc.
I loved my stay in Coyoacan when I was there in Nov. 2019. The owner of the place where I stayed (opposite Museo de Frida Kahlo) said that the area is one of the safest in the city. If I had the money I would move from London to Mexico in a heartbeat. Other than that, I'm flying to Saudi Arabia (Jeddah and Medina) next week for 12 days.
Coyoacán neighborhood is really one of the safest places in the whole country, not just the Mexico City. I’m very lucky to born, being raised and live in Coyoacán neighborhood.
Eva’s continuing collab with Deutsche Welle takes us to new places. This episode, revealing aspects of Mexico City tourists don’t know, is superbly presented. When you’re there, you might find things a vlog can’t document. Welcome to Mexico City!
Congratulations to DW & Eva, this programs are amazing! I think that this kind of programs can change the Mexico’s image around the world. Saludos desde Guadalajara! The Mariachi & Tequila’s Land!
Very nice! The more I see of Mexico, the more I wish to go and spend a few months there. I hope you got some fresh tortillas while you were traveling through.
Her channel is more a vlog channel though that shows you the reality of her situation - this is a travel doco piece so she's being a doco presenter, not herself. Just depends what you want to watch
I love how Eva portraits the city! Can she visit and document other cities/states of Mexico? There’s a lot of diversity, from deserts, beaches to mountains, etc… For now, I think she would LOVE Oaxaca.
I enjoyed this and I miss Mexico. I know you're referring to the bad reputation as being the news misrepresenting Mexico City as everyone being in a cartel. You're actually defending Mexico like you're defending other places as being mostly friendly caring people. I saw some of the comments where people misunderstood and it they'd seen your other channel's videos they'd know. I think you did a great job presenting Mexico in such a short time.
It’s such a blessing to see the world through your travels! I love it, and I get a pure kick out of you Eva! And not once have I watched you that you make me so hungry, I pause you, and fix something as close as I can to the items you feast upon! 😋
Living soil is so precious. I teach others about it and they reap it. I will show what you discovered to others. Some get a bit snoozed on me. Watching you will bring them out of it. Happy Trails!!!
Just adding... the metropolitan area of the Valley of Mexico has more than 21 million people. Sounds crazy, but it makes the culture as rich as it is. PS. Eva is the best! Lover her!
@@hectorcampos9244 Asi es jaja. Este canal solo habla maravillas de su Peru. Parece que un peruano trabaja en ese canal. También hablan bien de Chile y de Bolivia.
Come on! She keeps talking about how dangerous Mexico is, and then she goes to route 66 and stays in a motel in the middle of Texas, well that is dangerous. Mexico city is great!
Mexican chilango here...none of this is "alternative" none. This is pretty common mainstream sunday family stuff. I understand Mexico city is in fashion but come on...there is a lot more than condesa, coyoacan, xochimilco and roma.
Coyoacán was definitely a nice neighborhood to live in. We were there for a bit more than 7 years. Every place she walked by, I know like the back of my hand. I even saw Feli and her nephew at the Feli´s vegetable/fruit stand inside the "Mercado of Coyoacán" . Xochimilco is an interesting day trip. Condesa is a bit too "desmadrosa" for my tastes, but certainly worth a visit. The whole region of Mexico City and surroundings is about double 9 million; i.e., > 18 million
Condesa is the neighborhood cliché for gringos and tourist in general, not a big surprise, Coyoacán kinda in the middle and Xochimilco is very popular so, not a big surprise, still, good video.
I think because of lack of safety to people from other countries, many of them get robbed there. I used to live there for a while and my car was stolen! I am a from Monterrey with a Spain nationality. Of course this can happen in any big city of the world.
A lot of foreigners confuse “Mexico” the country with “Mexico City” the city….it goes to show their own ignorance, biases and euro/white-centric viewpoint. 🤦🏻♀️
In gastronomy nothing like Mexican food, we have more than 10k of dishes around the country, mexico a country of great variety in relation to its culture, colonial city, as well as European, only in the capital will find lakes, forests, waterfalls, many Europeans have settled in Mexico, as well as Asians and Arabs.
Amiga! para saber si la salsa es picosa, coloca unas gotas en la palma de tu mano y pruébala; hermoso video de mi México...gracias por disfrutar la vida...
Another great Vlog about your experiences and deep thoughts. By the way , there is currently another famous female solo traveller very close to Mexico City. Itchy Boots (Noraly) stays in a city near of the capital on her way to Alaska. Even though you both have different concepts you follow on your journey I am fascinated by both ways of travelling.
As of 2022, the population of the 👉City Proper👈 is estimated to be 9.3 Million. If you look at the metropolitan area as a whole, however, it is much larger with a population of 22,1 million people.
You’re doing really well fantastic job this is the old man from California you remind me who you look like you remind me of is that rock singer Linda Ronstadt when she was very very young you look just like her keep the good work up that’s Linda Ranstead rock singer in the United States
Actually Eva, Xochimilco was and is a separate city from Mexico City -- or Tenochtitlan -- in Aztec times. It was never conquered by the Aztecs, although they were allies.
I noticed that you didn't visit the usual Aztec cities with the pyramids or any of the historical buildings that are shell structures by Felix Candela. One is a church (Cathedral of St Antonio?) among other structures throughout the city. He is like the Frank Lyod Wright of Mexico and possibly Spain as is Santiago Contraves (may have miss spelled their names) Green chilly sauce reminds of Green Chilli Goat Stew throughout Texas and Oklahoma and it's also great on scrambled eggs. (available at most restaurants throughout southwestern USA) It isn't as hot as Jalapeno of Habinaro peppers.
“ I know, Mexico doesn’t have the best reputation “ 🤦🏻♂️ Are you talking about the reputation created in Hollywood and mainstream media where you work??
i love tequila , i love how it makes u feel, but unfortunely i used to love it too much ,,,i don't know why but everything was fine , according to some mates of mine at that time , until i chowed down the grub or worm at the bottom of the bottle , personally i think its because i just finished the whole bottle , anyway i would wake up the next day going what a great night i had until someone would tell me different .that was about 30 years ago i don't drink at all now , but thats only cause i can't , it plays up on me too much now , bourbon became my prefference but now just coffee will do.
Actually both mezcal and tequila should be drank with "besitos" or little kisses (sips). The tequila shot culture originated in springbreak resorts like Cancún and Puerto Vallarta back in the 80's and 90's in order to get the crowds hammered, crazy... and throwing up never wanting to taste it again, bad bad marketing,
Mexico City is literally one of MY FAVORITE CITIES IN THE WORLD!! & I've been spending 6 months of the year here for awhile & as a 66 years YOUNG solo traveling gal - I've always felt VERY SAFE - but of course I don't go to bad areas, don't get drunk or do drugs, etc.
I actually prefer this new series. It's refreshing and so well done.
Kind of for simpler tastes, yeah I dig it too

London is one of the most expensive cities in the world. So, I think you would save a lot of money very fast.
I am going to be there this November, and am staying about 3 blocks from Casa Azul. Thank you for your notes!

Bad reputation? Why? Mexico City has never been a battlefield. The ignorance of many foreigners about Mexico is insulting.
Probably referring to safety issues. But yeah it was kinda out of context
I think she's referring to the news trashing Mexico and how she thinks that's actually misguided

The music is way too Spanish, agua fresca doesn't contain "flavouring" , it is real fruit, among other non sence or wrong details on this video.
