Some of the games that bring back great memories for me are kangaroo, pengo, Ms pacman because my father and I played it at the supermarket before he passed away, Mach 3, f14 tomcat pinball, pacman, Bagman, streetfighter 2, mortal kombat, pooyan, digdug. There are so many I can name for so many reasons. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for sharing this.
My top 10 arcade games in no certain order:
1) Joust
2) Robotron 2084
3) Space Invaders
4) Gorf
5) Galaga
6) Missile Command
7) Ms. Pacman
8) Phoenix
9) Outrun
10) Q-Bert
Awesome, you're definitely a bit older than I am.
The games i miss the most are the massive moving cabinets like after burner, power drift, continental circus to name a few i remember going to blackpool in the late 80s and they had a full size red mazda i think it was you sat in just to play outrun, you can play all these on a mister but you will never get that experience and atmosphere again unfortunately its all gone now.
Moving cans were dope. I only ever played a few, like very few.
Oh man I got so many great memories of arcades growing up I could probably do a top 10 easily but 1 that really stands out is when I was 15 my parents took us on a cruise on a now defunct cruise line called premier cruises (they were affiliated with Disney before Disney had their own cruise line) My mom would bring me rolls of quarters from the casino as she was getting herself quarters she would bring me a roll as well, we discovered if we jammed enough junk into the coin slot to stop up the game the maintenance guy would come down to fix it and he would always hit the credit switch like 50 times giving us a ton of free credits to play the game. Even with all those credits I still was never able to beat Ghouls and Ghosts in the arcade.
Haha, maintenance guys were often very cool. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Other than the arcade, The ST was also my double dragon machine. I'm of a time when you could get a credit for 10p.I remember a mate entering a competition to finish Soldier of Light (Xain'd 'sleena) in a a local arcade on one 10p credit and won a whole £10 which was a nice win. They had SF2 and we spent hours together on that until he bought it on his snes and we played it for days!!
ST Double Dragon was great. I spent a whole summer playing it around a friend's house. I was around for some of 10p credit days, but they quickly went to 20p.
Street Fighter 2 is so perfect on my MiSTer system... I can still do the Guile invisible throws and do a Guile factory reset! 😅
Handcuffs for the win!
My nostalgia list would be;
1. Double Dragon
2. Shinobi
3. Final Fight
4. Golden Axe
5. Out Run
6. Space Harrier
7. Mr Do!
8. Ikari Warriors
9. Bubble Bobble
10. Star Wars
Bubble Bobble 🫧🦖 was in my shortlist.
Great list 😃
Yo! Fellow north Londoner here. My local sweet shop in Enfield was the first time I played double dragon back in 87. My best memories were playworld in Edmonton green shopping centre. A pretty dangerous place to go on your own. I used to get the bus to King's Cross and play games in the arcade on Euston Road too. (which is still there but is now a gambling place) Also the fun fairs would have amazing arcade games back in the 80's. I miss the days of sweet shops and chippy's having arcade games.
Nice. I'm not far from Enfield, currently. Yeah I remember some venues were hotspots for getting robbed.
Rowan's bowling Ally was my main large arcade, and smaller ones in the Finsbury Park area. Also pretty much any shop of any kind would have machines. Amazing times!
@@PixelCherryNinja yeah used to go to Rowan's bowling alley all the time. I played a lot of final Fight and Street fighter there lol
@@DJmetronik nice, who knows, we have even been there at the same time.
@@PixelCherryNinja yeah probably 😄
I remember as a kid in Massachusetts going to a local roast beef sandwich shop (it's a new england thing) that had a Double Dragon machine with five dollars in quarters weighing down my pocket determined to beat it. I can't remember if I did...
Beef sandwich 🥪, sounds awesome. My favourite meat is beef 🍖
Great list. I need to try Dragon Breed and Out Zone. Never played them before. They look solid
They have definitely aged well.
trust me when I say I don't mean this as criticism but I feel like I got your entire life story here 😂
There's definitely more. This is the reason I especially love arcade games, it's all the memories attached to them.
I can see why TMNT made it to the list for sure PCN. It had everything you need in a good brawler. I miss the late 80's bro. 8^)
Anthony..
TMNT is a piece of Arcade gaming history.
Wow, love this vid man.
Thanks Sandro 😃
Great stories! Same as you with SFII, was certain that Dhalsim was the character I should play with first despite everyone else telling me not too! Cabal, Express Raider + Terracresta were some others I loved and grew up with. Don't think Cabal has made it to Mister yet? Bucket List = Bubble Bobble 1CC
Hopefully Cabal will come. It was also a game I played quite a bit, as it was in Nino's chip shop (same place as RoboCop).
Dhalsim makes sense right 😃
Garrick Street Arcade.
Every Arcade game you could imagine was there and always had the latest.
I played Street Fighter 2 Championship edition first and got used to playing it.
I didn't intiatially understand the difference and I was able to get to the bosses and beat Vega.
Then one day someone asked me if U could beat Vega for them as they got to the bosses but I lost because that was world warrior.
Street Fighter 2 as you said was everyone's favourite game.
I heard about the Snes version and went to play it at Comet.
It wasn't the same as the Champion edition I was used to so the bosses were sorely missed
However at home is where I learned to play the game properly.
I remember that people used to come to my home to challenge me on Street Fighter 2 Snes.
Great times 😊
Great times indeed. Garrick Street is near Charring Cross, right?
I can't say it was a place I regularly visited.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
@@PixelCherryNinja It no longer exists sadly back in those days up until 90s and early 2000s there were tonnes of Arcades but it was in Wolverhampton
@@WWammyy gotcha. It's sad as the arcades of the old days are non-existent.
@@PixelCherryNinja You never know modern gaming looks to be either heading for a crash or expanding further.
By expansion I mean people like me that enjoy the pick up and play nature of older Arcade style games more could bring about the return of Arcades and those that like their modern games continue with that.
In the UK there's not much in the way of social joints in the way we used to be.
We had a bowling Alley right next to us but now people only go out to eat.
Even the old style pub + bars are in decline.
But my point is people do need to go out to socialise so Arcades could make a come back as those places were intensely social and not just for the hardcore crowd either
My top 10 Mister
Shinobi
Double Dragon
Golden Axe
Dragon Ninja
Wonder in Monsterland
Shadow Dancer
Final Fight
Crime Fighters 2
Nam1975
Bomb Jack
The Most Missing Game
Cabal
The Combatribes
Twin Cobra
Violent Storm
The Mister is the best ever ❤
Great selection. Dragon Ninja and Vendetta were on my shortlist.
