I love my OG MMS. I sat on my DE10-Nano for months waiting for a consolised form factor solution to come out and this one was definitely it because that integrated SCART socket meant I could slip it into the set-up like any old other console. Ended up getting a Pi-MMS and dedicated S-Video cart for it too. Gotta say though - I'm not personally convinced those extras (Tapto reader, fully set up sd card, Neofid ROMs, Retrofrog print job etc) are necessarily worth the premium over other versions of MMS - but I appreciate this might be great for anyone who is convinced they're not capable of setting a MiSTerFPGA up..which is certainly every IRL gamer I personally know. As far as this 'premium' MMS being compared to Taki Udon's as yet unveiled 'flagship' MiSTer console - they're obviously not aimed at the same crowd. Taki's product aims to flip the scene upside down whereas Koala's product aims to be the finest thing it can be - with no hardware cost spared and collaborations with other creators integrated. They'll both sell out I imagine.
Ya a 110 units is the stupidest thing I ever ever heard ya think it won’t get sold out super fast and be INSTANTLY abuse by farmers? I understand if that’s the best they can do but they could do something to not let farmers get most of them or maybe I dunno wait until you can do MORE!?
The way that the DE10-nano slides on to the main board sparks joy. The pricetag however, does not spark joy. Good value for everything you get though, and i feel like the price was also meant to just under-cut the MARS' $700 pricetag. I love it!
not sure how it undercuts something like Mars or the replay2 this is just a de10 nano that is overprice it brings nothing new to the table. you do realize Mars and the Replay2 in terms of specs blow the de10 out the water
i'm very sad that this is limited as i've been waiting for exactly this device for a while but just can't swing the cash right now I may have to pass on this and put together my own version when funds allow
Honestly, they'd be better off waiting for taki's clone, so they can knock off a hundo from the final cost. With that said, for that price, I'd rather holdout for Replay2.
I would grab this or a retrocastle kit just to have a nice polished product. But its hard to spend the cash with things like a Replay2 around the corner and showing promise. I dont know if mister is EOL by any means butcit surw is a mature product, and yoy get all these cool thibfs when a gteat product has been out for years. I am sure even if a Replay2 makes a splash it's initisl offerings will be nothing like what itll be a few years after release. It will have a head start since it seems many mister cores will ne easy ports.
For that kind of money, I would expect an audio DSP with EQ options, a built-in MT32-Pi as standard or even a Dreamblaster X2, I would also expect a much better storage solution than standard mSD, which is not good enough for a lot of MiSTer cores such as DOS and Amiga ISO's, so I'd have expected a decent SSD solution and a low latency SLC SD card for better I/O performance, I'd also have expected a proper TapToo card slot rather than just the reader, as well as a SNAC HDMI multi-controller port. I mean the Ironclad-Plus MiSTer ITX, which comes with the MT32-Pi Pro, the HI-FI Blaster, built-in SNAC gamepad ports, the highest quality 256MB SDRAM module, SNAC extended modules, full active S-Video and composite as standard, a USB Octopod SNAC8 module, a beautiful case, it also has a multi AV port, VGA output, HDMI, real-time-clock, a DB9 SNAC gamepad port and a USB I/O port, SSD & Hard Drive support, and even comes with a nice proper remote control to operate the MiSTer menu, as well as various internal extra pins and inputs for custom add-ons like a MIDI module (such as a Dreamblaster or OPL3 Duo et cetera) or a TapToo card slot, all for £189, and you only need to drop in a DE-10 Nano, you can either buy a second hand one on ebay for £80-100 (I got mine on ebay for £75) or wait for the clone board.
its over price Taki really put a damper on alot of these projects they wont compete with Taki cheap stuff alot of theses venders have been geting away with selling over price mister accessories that comes to a end once Taki takes over the market. a user reply here at this point you are better of saving your money up for a Mars or replay2 instead

Is the Pi-MMS limited in the sounds it can handle? I tried a few samples and some of them don't play at all or glitch out.
I love my original Multisystem! But with the cost of it, I understand why not many people have it.
Only 110 units, scalpers will have them scraped up and insanely priced on Ebay.😡

@@soloM81 I'm aware and agree with you on all counts. But people are selling these to make a profit, not to break even.
Oooh! Limited Editions PCN. Like the sound of that to be purchased for sure. 8^)
Anthony..
Good to know 👍

Can't wait to get the señor or they can name the device the gentleman 😎
Demons of Asteberg? ;)
😂 I'm getting better at my words overall.

I was considering getting the original MMS, but ultimately went with an IronClad Plus in a mini-ITX case.
Neo Geo inspired? Looks more like a Genesis model 2.
Both will be offered.
Save us, Taki!!
Looks good.
Not sure how I feel about the "assembled by hand in the USA" bit.
I doubt they're expecting to sell outside of the US so that little bit of Yee Haw Doodle Dandee won't hurt.
Just that has increased the cost by 50%...
Much Money Massacre... 110 units... BREW-TAIL
