I'm happy with these changes for reviews. I want for reviews to be informative as often rely on them. As for links in description maybe limit this option until game/developer solds x copies, as sometimes links were useful tbere.
Felt a bit hand-holdy from Valve at first glance, but looking in detail I think it will be positive. It's frustrating to navigate game pages only to find out cross-promotion of other games by the same dev/developer, and any additionaly clarity we can get on Prologues/Demos is welcome
I love reading some meme reviews, but when I check a game the first thing I want to read is a realistic and accurate experience from someone who played the game. Maybe they should do the same with the meme curators.
Not a huge fan, personally. While I agree that some games don't have enough information about themselves, I actually like the extra links and games. The default developer/publisher page isn't great, so, I like having other games I might like right in front of me. And about the reviews, it souds nice at first glance, but it worries me that the system can be abused. What is to stop a big publisher to "talk" to Steam and mark all negatives reviews of their brand new game as "unhelpful"?
This system is supposed to combat that very exploit. Now it's not entirely perfect from what I tested, but it works well. Steam cracked down on some games that got review bombed in the past and got marked as unhelpful or whatever as it was affecting the game's review score badly due to some political issues.
What do you think of the Updates? Do you think it's going to make Steam better or worst for us?
I'm glad they're making changes to the review system. Whenever I wanted to read reviews for a game, the meme reviews were almost always at the top.
Not anymore, at least, not as much now. You can definitely see better reviews now from what I tested.

@@10ui I like Discord links as joining official ones are useful for sure.
I hope they are slowly starting to check the content sold on their platform, maybe we'll get less and less assest flips and crappy entries around...
I'd love to see that happening, honestly!

Let's hope this continues to make this stuff more and more good for both devs and players. Steam seems to get better and better.

Totally! It's not perfect, but I hope it's getting better over time.
