This is no longer just a toy. It's a piece of history. It must be very satisfying for you to know that you are preserving a valuable artifact from our past. Well done.
I find it interesting that the 1930’s toys tested negative for lead paint but the ‘newer’ 1950’s toys were positive. Your work is top of the line and always a pleasure to watch from start to finish.
This was one of the oldest iron toy trucks; that have ever gotten restored, in spite of the fact that it had a 1953 manufacturing date. This iron toy truck had lead paint laced with.🚚 🛻 🚚 🎨 😳 😬 👏 😐 👌 🎨
I truly love all the methods you use to restore you project. As I always was told to do it right you need the right tools! I think you have and use the right tools skillfully. Makes the outcome outstanding it’s amazing that you have the tools to make dies and reproduce parts
Another thing I never knew about this toy livestock truck was that, it had a wooden floor, we nowadays make certain toys out of plastic or even aluminum.
Not all hero’s wear capes. This is incredible. I picture a kid in the right time frame opening this on Christmas or a birthday and it’s just amazing. Saving some of history
I have heard of vehicles held together with "bailing wire and spit", but this is the first one I've seen-outside of the old jalopy that the Beverly Hillbillies rode around in. Also, that particular toy would have been part of a collection, but boys can be rough to their toys. I played with my trucks until the wheels came off. I still miss the 32 Ford pickup, Willys Jeep and 65 stepside pickup. Great job Chip. Thank you for your interesting Sunday mornings.
I absolutely love watching these toy restoration videos. Relaxing and fun to watch. Beautifully restored! 🤗❤ MMMmmm MMMmmm love those bug-eyed cotton ball chops! 😊
I cannot put in to words the restoration I have just watched. That truck looked well beyond repair and ready for the Tonka Truck heaven. Best video by far, glad I came across your UA-cam channel. I don't think I can ever walk away from a task again. Thank you for putting pride back in that truck.
An exceptional restoration! That truck looks better than new. The Powdercoat makes a major difference. What an awesome surprise that would make for a child on Christmas. morning.
Thank you for giving the sheep a ride. I would've been disappointed if they hadn't. And the pickup at then made really laugh out loud. Thanks. You do an awesome job.
This was a very simple restoration for this guy. it's the hour-long restoration videos that you know he put a lot of time and work in. Having said that, the livestock truck still looks great. Love this guy's skill and attention to detail! And he has a wry sense of humor with his toy cottonball sheep!
I'm not into 'boys toys' yet I can't help watching these wonderful restorations. It's like watching a painting being restored and coming back to the beauty it once was. You've got me hooked to seeing what you bring back to life. Cracked me up tossing the sheep into the back and having them come back as 'lamb chops'. 😄 Great sense of humor. 🙂
I found this channel by surfing the 'Recommended' videos and watched this particular video. Man, talk about a heartwarming, emotional memory. I have SUCH a massive appreciation for these old toys. They are the same as what my older, only brother (💓R.I.P.) played with and what I played with after him growing older. I'll keep some tissues around as I delve into the videos of this channel. 👍 💓👌
Now any BIG boy would be proud to have this in his collection..What a difference..Two years younger than me and glad to say I am no where as broken as this was lol..You did an amazing job of this 😀
Love the ending. My wife says you gotta be a bit more gentle with the sheep. Hahahaha. Lamb chops. Too funny. But let it be said, that as long as Chip has a sand blaster and powder coat paint system, there shall not be one disfigured toy be safe from amazing restoration. Chip, you are the best. I love the red and that floor is special. The dollies really impressed me too. Can't wait to see what you are doing next.
So glad to see you as you follow your passion of vintage toy resurrection!!! Impeccable technique!! I learn something new in each of your ventures. Thanks Man!!!
Stunning work. I lived very near Mound, Minnesota growing up. Cold! That's why they had great toys...something to do inside five months out of the year.
At first I wasn’t sure why you didn’t use the original trailer floor but after seeing the new one you made with the brass it was an excellent choice! Thanks for sharing!
First time I have ever seen metal wheels like that on a Tonka. Also first time I have seen lead paint on one too. I enjoyed watching you fabricate the needed items, especially the floor. Looks really sharp with the metal slats! For some reason I can hear the sheep yelling "Wheeeee!" as you toss them in there. Excellent retoration!
My impression was that the lead was in the orange repaint (not the original red), but there was no practical way to remove one and not the other. In another video/channel, a toy car had acrylic over lead paint. The stripper used removed only the top layer, leaving the lead paint beneath untouched.
Your attention to details is phenomenal. This was the first time I saw a truck’s paint test positive for lead. It was interesting to see the extra step you needed to take. This truck really needed a lot of restoration and you made it proud with your talent and skill. Most impressive!
🇬🇧, 😆 - I was expecting him to take that livestock lorry to his junkyard and pull all the sheep out of it and chuck them into the lorry, with a sound effect of real sheep, shepherd, and sheep dog. 😁
I've watched a lot of your videos and that cattle truck you're doing is excellent that color red really pops and it's actually my most favorite color. Keep up the good work you're a true professional
I didn't finish watching yet, but i love the condition of this car! I see a lot of love from parent (probably dad) to kid. A lot of "don't worry, I will fix it" even if there were no parts, or they have no money, or father has no talent for fixes like this, but it's really positive:)
what a transformation. you keep getting better and better. I really like the way the wheels turned out, a very custom look. plus the brass strips in the floor, it will be easy to clean up after you take the sheep to market.
Perhaps it was dearly loved and played with to the max...instead of abused ;} I was really excited to see this one put together as I've never seen one of these before. It looks absolutely A-MA-ZING!
Of all the trucks and cars I've seen you do this is by far one of the best. Thanks for sharing this video with us and please keep them coming. Nicely done, sir very nicely done.
I really love to watch you restore these toy vehicles. I especially like the way you take them apart methodically and don't just tear into them. You show respect for the toy and the craftmanship that went into building them. Although the cost to refurbish is pretty steep, it is a joy to see them looking their best again. Thank you!
Chip Channel: You must get a lot of satisfaction turning junk into art. Your subscribers (at least this one) get a lot of satisfaction seeing the transformations. Great job as usual. 👍👍👍
Superlative! Your restorative ingenuity is second to none. I'm in awe. I'll bet the sheep are happy, now that you have a truck to take them out for some extracurricular activity. (LOL) ;-)
It is very good to use a few second-hand spare parts, at least so that you are sure that it suits your vehicle, and the result obtained with the white vinegar is just stunning, cool
Excelente resultado de esta restauración de este camión con remolque, como siempre mis felicitaciones para usted, saludos y mi aprecio desde Venezuela amigo
Wow...... just wow! Not just a restoration. More like a transformation! From junk to a work of art. Easily the best one yet. Cool job on the floor and the axles, too. Can't wait to see your next one! 😃👍
Fantastic restoration. Nice to see second-hand parts being used instead of cheap reproductions. I knew the old Tonkas were pricey but didn't realise just quite how much you'd pay. Thanks for sharing the costs, made interesting reading. The way you did the axles looks stronger than the original set-up, while still appearing authentic. Great work. 👌👍
Chip you ever bigger cars and trucks what you are doing is Great ❤❤❤❤❤❤
The worse the condition.....the sweeter the restoration! (My personal philosophy regarding the
old guys I restore) Best wishes and stay healthy.
This is no longer just a toy. It's a piece of history. It must be very satisfying for you to know that you are preserving a valuable artifact from our past. Well done.
It’s not a valuable artifact it’s a just a very old toy
That, my dear, is a matter of opinion .

I remember playing with Tonka Toys. That was long ago. Many great memories. Thank you for your appreciation and restoration of them.
Another thing I never knew about this toy livestock truck was that, it had a wooden floor, we nowadays make certain toys out of plastic or even aluminum.
Radical restoration! That truck made some kids very happy back in the day and now it's ready again. Excellent!

Wow. Looks great.
It hurts my heart to see toys so mangled and broken. It makes my heart happy to see them refurbished and shining like new once again. Great job.

Beautiful. I love your work, mate. 👍👍👍👍👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

I liked the sheep with one giant eye! Great job restoring a classic farm toy!!
