  • This children’s pedal car was made in the 1960’s.
    It was made by Murray and was called a flat face Fire Truck. The body shape was modeled after the Ford Fairlane (my first car handed down by Grandma).
    It’s missing its wooden ladders, the ignition key, the hood light, and padded seat.
    This car has had some good usage and now it’s time to bring it back to its original condition, for a new generation of kids to enjoy.
    This car weighs over 35 pounds - it’s a sturdy metal machine. There's even a back step for kids to ride on and push off from.

    I had a Ford Fairlane pedal car my parents bought for me at a Western Auto Hardware Store when I was about four or five years old. Same design as this, minus the fire engine accoutrements. It was a mint green color. They had eight mm home movies of me pedaling around in that car. I was one happy camper! 😃 Rode around in it so much my dad had to replace the tires. He mounted the new ones by heating them in near boiling water to make them pliable enough to mount. We ended up donating it to our church nursery when I outgrew it. I am sixty-two now.

      Awesome, did you have a light too? If so, do you recall what it looked like?

    I had one of those when I was a kid. I got it on Christmas when I was about 3 years old. (Yes, I'm ancient.)

    He should have made the headlights to work, as he made a flashing red light.

      I definitely thought about it. But this restoration had already stretched on for almost 2 years due to some "life interruptions."

    Почему именно пудра? Это самый удобный способ окрашивания?

    • @BOMReviews
      @BOMReviews  4 місяці тому

      Порошковая окраска была нанесена на нижнюю часть механики, колпаки, рули и держатели лестниц, потому что порошок более долговечен, чем краска, а эта игрушка предназначена для использования. Спасибо!

      Not easy to do a good job on panels that were made as cheaply as possible. Full size vehicle panels back in the '50s/'60s needed a lot of massaging before painting.
